A witch is a magical construct made of grief right? They probably feel threatened/find us as 'wrong' at some instinctual level.

Thoughts on why the Witch aggro'd on us.

Sabrina can control grief/despair...guess what else can control grief and despair? Thats right, I think Witches will see us as another Witch entering their barrier.

Not yet, really- we need to solve grief disposal first. I suspect the Gertrud seed was contaminated by us.

Random idea: the Kyouko method of familiar farming just became a lot more ethical with us forcefeeding familiars grief rather than letting them kill people- the trick is selling it to Mami "Hero of Justice" Tomoe if it ever comes up.
 
I don't think grief disposal will be that much of a problem. Didn't the blob we pushed out of our range just harmlessly dissipate?

Hope and despair are a zero sum system (they are always balanced) and as part of entropy, that despair has to go somewhere. its not paranoia when canon backs it up. Plus when GMs like to post Gendo!Mami.

For those who aren't aware, FIrn is getting some sort of science/physics/SCIENCE! degree. (literally he did a project on how to crash Jupiter into the Earth)This means he is aware of how entropy works...I think. Then again it could just be lack of sleep and somewhat justified paranoia.

That, however, has little to do with the quest at hand, because Incubator science and Clarke's Third Law.

Also, for the record, I hate thermodynamics and statistical mechanics as a subject. It's useful and all, but aaaargh it is so opaque.

Figured it might factor into things since you actually know some of the stuff behind it, oh well. I can be wrong its happened before.

The whole point of the Incubators entire system is to escape the zero sum game of entropy.

If grief was truly balanced and part of entropy the Incubators wouldn't be going through such convoluted mechanics to create the whole magical girl system. You're ignoring canon to go with the more grimderp version.

I wonder, if grief seeds hatch because they have too much grief in them (hence why you can only get a few cleanses out of them), is it possible that we can just drain Charlotte's seed in order to stop the witch being born? That way we'll have a free seed that may come in handy (even if we don't need them, we can give it to someone) and Mami will still be alive.

Pretty sure (thanks to rebellion) that Charlotte is Nagisa, who is in the hospital right? I can't remember the manga that well and I don't feel like inflicting all the depression that the anime would at the moment.

I can't quite rememeber what Rebellion said, if indeed it did say, about where Nagisa was when she witched out, but I'm pretty sure Charlotte was born from a hatching grief seed in the hospital wall. I'm not sure if that means that she witched out in the hospital and, for whatever reason, her witch didn't appear straight away and so the grief seed stayed there for a little while.
 
One of the popular fanon theories is that she was a cancer patient, with all her barier's medical theme and sweet food and cheese obsession

I'm pretty sure it was her mom that had cancer, and was about to be pulled off life support or something. Moemoe wished to have one last cake with her mom.

Something of that sort.
