Or we could not drop our plans and obligations for the next couple of days.

You're also assuming the girl's willing to drop her plans and obligations to come back with us in the first place.
And that Euroguca is a reasonable meguca that's coming for help, rather than being a deranged lunatic that's gonna try and kill us to absorb our powers or something. :p

I mean, she was mentioned in the same breath as Asunaro...

"There's a magical girl from Europe," Oriko says. "She can affect Soul Gems. And... Asunaro. I don't recommend going there, though." She shudders slightly.

We'll toss asking about the friendliness of the European magical girl on the things to bug Oriko about once we've gotten her back on her feet later.

On a related note, I really do hope we actually ask what Kirika's wish was soon; it'd help to get confirmation, and I figure it might help Oriko realize how good she has it here if she knew about what Kirika could have wished for.

I've also been (slowly) rereading the story only thread, and it occurs to me that if Sabrina's arrival was what caused Oriko to contract before Kirika due to a disruption in Kyubey's schedule, then that could be another aspect of Madoka's 'fix things' wish (I'm probably late to the party, but whatever~). Assuming the timing lines up, of course.

Or we could not drop our plans and obligations for the next couple of days.
The furthest she can be away and still be in Europe is something like 6,000 miles. Over that distance, we should have no difficulty outrunning an ICBM from a standing start. Narrow it down to a city, and we could find her overnight.
By contrast, according to Mami, enchantment could take weeks to deliver results, and the optimal outcome for that approach doesn't actually solve the problem. We still need the stranger's help, at which point all the effort that went into the single-use enchantment is wasted.
You're also assuming the girl's willing to drop her plans and obligations to come back with us in the first place.
It's safe to assume that she's interested, since she's scheduled to head here looking for us in particular.

Eh, before even considering flying out to meet with Euroguca, we'd first need to test that we can make a Grief vehicle capable of getting us to her and back in a reasonable (read: stupidly short) timeframe.

And it still might be a waste of time, since we don't actually know what does this meguca want, and what she can do.

So it would be useful to have Oriko on mission control, but due to the very problem we'd be be flying out to solve, we'd could only get one prediction from her, then she'd be back to being a corpse, so that's not too useful.

Then, the obvious (read: worst) course of action to take, is to ditch everybody else and take Oriko on...

Thinking on how Homura would react. On the one hand, it involves us and Oriko, alone, away from her eyes for an extended period. On the other hand, there's a better than decent chance of Oriko dying in a spectacular fiery cataclysm during atmospheric re-entry. I think she might go for it.

"So, what do you think?"

I believe we already know that we actually can get our grief platform to speeds that are exceeding such of air liners, barring such of jets. And, if I remember correctly, we don't even know the limits of that ability yet.
About going to the sun - it is actually kind of an interesting idea. Maybe we should try to create materials from grief that are, for example, heat superconductors, or, on the contrary, materials that have no heat conductivity. Same for electromagnetic waves. I suppose that these things have already been brought up by someone(well, I don't really want to read all 2650 pages, besides, even if I did, I probably wouldn't remember), but... Oh well, now I don't even see the point of me writing everything above. Whatever.
I guess we should study the processes which can help us create such materials naturally, so to speak. Then we can just emulate the conditions required with grief.
Another thing is - maybe, with the help of soulmeguca we can create something like proxy soulgem. This is probably impossible, though.

Quick theory I thought of on why Sabrina's control of Grief is limited to 100 meters. When she takes control of Grief, it becomes animated directly by her Soul Gem, in the same way as her body, in a sense becoming part of her, and thus subject to the same limits as her body's control. If that's the case, she could theoretically replace her body with pure Grief.

Eh, before even considering flying out to meet with Euroguca, we'd first need to test that we can make a Grief vehicle capable of getting us to her and back in a reasonable (read: stupidly short) timeframe.
Word-of-Firn's that we don't have a top speed on throwing grief constructs around, just a maximum comfortable/sane/survivable acceleration.
Ordinary humans can stand well over 10 gs, for a little while; none of the reasons to avoid that for an extended period apply to us.
If we could pull 10 gs all the way, we could cover 6,000 miles in well under 10 minutes.
Accounting for safe deceleration and clearance around anything we could possibly crash into is bound to increase that a bit, but - hell - double it, triple it, multiply it by ten and it's still not long.
And it still might be a waste of time, since we don't actually know what does this meguca want, and what she can do.
It's a safe bet that we have something to offer her. Nobody doesn't want access to clear seeds.
If she can't help Oriko, we're in deep shit anyway, and finding out now rather than after a week of assuming she could help has spared us all kinds of fun.
So it would be useful to have Oriko on mission control, but due to the very problem we'd be be flying out to solve, we'd could only get one prediction from her, then she'd be back to being a corpse, so that's not too useful.
Well, we could get all the mission-relevant information out of her first (none of the mission-critical stuff is likely to deviate from predictions enough to matter in an hour), or bring her along. That'd mean we probably don't have to worry about bringing the subject back with us, too.

There are so many reasons why this is a bad idea.

I think that rather than going to her city and manually searching for her, it would be more productive to grief up something that allows us to contact her.

Flying out to another continent on a wild goose chase when we have a lot of local problems is a bad idea when we know she's coming to us.

Yeah. It would only be a good idea if we knew she'd come early by doing so. Even if that were the case, it would still be better t contact her remotely first.

EDIT: Or if the future changed.

OOC: Just a little crossover idea I had.

*Mami, Sayaka, Homura, and Kyoko and dropped off inside a strange room*

Mami: Well that was.................an interesting encounter.

Sayaka: Where are we?

*As the girls look around a very cross looking Sabrina approaches them, for some reason both her hair and skin have been shaded red*

Kyoko: And why is Sabrina red?

*Red Sabrina gives Kyoko the stink eye before taking a deep breath.

Red Sabrina: Ignoring that comment..........................WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU FOUR DOING IN HERE!

*As she shouts Red Sabrina's hair lights on fire causing the team to step back*

Sayaka: Wow

Mami: Sabrina!

Kyoko: When did she learn to do that?!

???: Anger please cool it...........I'm sure out guests have a perfectly responsible explanation for being...............here.

*The assorted magical girls and Red Sabrina turn to see another Sabrina with blue hair and yellow cloths.

Joy Sabrina: Oh hey girls, what are you all doing in Sabrina's head? I'm joy by the way it's nice to meet ya.

Koyko: WHAT?!

Mamo: Oh my.

Sayaka: Wait where in Sabrina's head?

Joy Sabrina: Yep! Oh sorry about anger she doesn't like outsiders in the control room.

*Anger Sabrina continues glaring at the gathered girls*

Anger Sabrina: I'm watching all of you loonies, I don't trust a single one of you.............well ok I trust Mami, she's cool like that.

Mami: Oh angry Sabrina.

Kyoko: Wait why does she special treatment?

Anger Sabrina: Because she does and you can go JUMP OFF BRIDGE!

*Once again Anger Sabrina's hair lights on fire, but unlike last time it is soon put out by a Joy Sabrina, who seemed to have had a fire extinguisher on hand for just this occassion*

Joy Sabrina: Again sorry about anger, having a temper is kind of her job, just get to know her and you'll learn she means well.............most of the time.

Anger Sabrma: Grrrrrrrrrr.

Joy Sabrina: Anyway what brings all of you into Sabrina's head?

Sayaka: I don't know we where fighting this strange crazy magical girl, and then she open some sort of portal that dropped us in here I guess?

Joy Sabrina: Oh you mean that magical girl?

*Joy Sabrina points to a screen with a magical girl on it, strangely enough she doesn't appear to be moving at all*

Sayaka: Yep that's her.

Kyoko: Why isn't she doing anything though?

Joy Sabrina: Oh right forgot to tell you, time in here tends to slow down for a bit, we use the breaks to talk things over before we make any decisions, we where just in the middle of our rest break when you four showed up.

Anger Sabrina: I still think we should have torn her arms of from the start, lets see her send people into weird portals without any arms to do it with!

Homura:.................

Kyoko: Wow.....................Sabrina's anger is messed up.

Joy Sabrina: Where all emotions Koyko, it's kind of hard for her not to be rash and extreme.

Kyoko: Ok yeah that makes sense.

*Joy Sabrina walks to the consul in in front of the screen*

Joy Sabrina: Anyway since this seems to be a dramatic moment, I'm going to go put on some dramatic music!

*Joy Sabrina pushes a button on the consul causing a strange jingle to play*

Joy Sabrina: Oh come on!

Anger Sabrina: NO! NO! NO! NOT THIS FUCKING SONG! NOW WE'LL BE STUCK WITH IT FOR WEEKS!

*Both of Sabrina's present emotions start going ballistic as the magical girls watch in the background*

Sayaka: You know for some reason this kind of what I'd imagine the inside of Sabrina's head would be like.

Homura: Agreed.

Mami: It certainly fits her personality.

Kyoko: That temper though, who knew miss happy had it in her.
