Similarly, if we do decide to make Mami the spokesperson, she'll have negotiations while we look at her with Homura through a sniper scopes.
Somehow, I don't see us letting Mami go talk with the strange meguca without us being there with her.

Homu can watch our backs.

We need to be there in person anyway, because languages.

So... need to talk with Mami, Homura and Sayaka about Oriko and Euroguca. Probably right now, after everybody gets to the roof.

Also need to talk with Homura after lunch. About Sayaka, Sasa, and whatever. And try and get a hug from her while we're at it.

Man, Sayaka's meguca experience will be nothing that could be called normal as of right now.

Wonder if we should Grief up a "Sabrina's Guide to Meguca-ing" for Sayaka to read.

:p

It'll be in Witch Runes.
Sabrina: "Here, Sayaka." *Grief forms a paperback* "This'll get you started on your way to be a successful meguca."

Sayaka: *Leans back* "... A what?"

Sabrina: *Shoves book on Sayaka's face* "Just get on reading."

Sayaka: *Grumbles while carefully taking the book with the tips of her fingers* "Feels weird..."

Mami: *Tries to smile* "That's just S-Sabrina's powers. They're... amazing, right?"

Sabrina: "Right."

Homura: *Nods*

Sayaka: "I can't read this."

Sabrina: "Mmm?"

Sayaka: "What language even is this? Do you have to shove your polyglotism in our faces?"

Sabrina: "Ah, sorry, I just don't even really know what's my mother tongue, you know? Let me..." *Tries to take book*

Sayaka: *Pulls away* "No, really. This is your native language? What language even is this?" *Shows book to everybody*

Sabrina: *Freezes*

Homura: *Stares at book*

Mami: "That's..." *Eyes widen* "T-t-that is..."

Homura: *Stares at Sabrina*

Sabrina: *Sweating*

*Silence*

Madoka: *Looks confusedly at the Magical Girls* "Is something wrong?"

Mami: "I-it's... th... that..." *Breathes erratically* "Th-those are w... Wi-"

Homura: *Whisper* "No."

*Everybody looks at Homura*

Homura: *Small frown* "Nothing's wrong." *Takes book off Sayaka's hands* *Gives to Sabrina*

Sabrina: *Hesitantly takes book* "Yeah... Everything's alright." *Book's words become japanese* "Right? Right, Mami?"

Mami: *Looks back and forth between Sabrina, Homura and the book*

Sabrina: "... Right?"

Mami: *Looks at Sabrina* *Lips move into a shaky smile* "... R-r-r... Right."

Sabrina: *Smiles while hesitatingly taking Mami's hand*

Mami: *Smiles back*

Hitomi: *Sips tea* "What's so strange about a cipher, anyway?"

Sabrina: *Stares incredulous* "... How?"

Hitomi: *Hides smirk by sipping tea*

[q]Complain that trying to help all the magical girls by wishing to be a walking grief seed gets you no respect at all
-[q]contemplate that witches are basically grief seeds
--[q]...nah, witches aren't sane. Or functional as a human being, at least?

[jk] Mami, I think I'm a Witch.
Mami: "D-don't be s-s-silly, S-Sabrina... Next you'll tell me y-you're from Asunaro, right?" *Nervous laugh*

Sabrina: *Looks away*

Homura: "... You're not. Right?"

Sabrina: *Thousand yard stare*

Mami: *Grief spike*

Homura: *Transforms*

Sabrina: "Wait, don't-"

Homura: *Turns shield 180 degrees*

I know I was joking earlier about complaining about their hyper-advanced math skills and showing off the polyglot thing, but it might not be a bad idea to lighten the mood a bit once everyone's together.

[x] I'm ok, well, as fine as I can be considering the situation, but Oriko and Kirika are not. Any ideas on how to help them?

[x] Tired. I'm so tired Mami. There's just so many things to deal with and more problems are coming. I just... sigh and stand up straighter. I'll be fine. You're here, Homura's here, Sayaka and Madoka are here for me. I'll be fine. I'm more worried about Oriko right now.

[X] Tired. Too many things happening at once. I don't think I can deal with everything.
[X] How are you doing? Reassure Mami.
[X] About... things that are happening, I need to talk with all of you. I might just have made our lives more complicated. I know Homura specially won't like it, but we could be getting... immigrants.

[x] Disappointed in myself. Still, I can't expect to manage everything I want to do right away and I think that things are as good as they can be right now. I'm not giving up.
-[x] Still, it's a relief to see you all again. Struggling without success is frustrating and draining and I was looking forward to spending time with you.
-[x] For now, let's enjoy ourselves. Oriko is not currently in pain, so I don't want to be gloomy. I could do with the lift that spending time with you gives me right now.

If we wait for the european to show up,
- It means there'll probably be others arriving around the same time, so we'll have a lot else on our plate,
- It means Oriko's got soul-gem weirdness going on for a week,
- It means her sense of pain has to be disabled for a week, and
- We lack the initiative when the meeting does happen.
I'd suggest we take a trip to proactively recruit her, fairly soon. We can move fast, it shouldn't be too much trouble.

Maybe talk to Homura beforehand to get some timestop grabbing us if things go badly. We can then plan on how to handle her attacking seconds after she does.

Right. Thank you everyone. I'm feeling a bit better, even though my opinion hasn't changed. Sorry, I normally try to not bum people out by revealing what I actually think about stuff.

[x] Onmur

Close enough to what I want.

This is objectively false. Both because magical girls do as much good as they do bad as a witch, and because Wraith Arc implies that Wraiths form out of ambient grief not absorbed by witches, meaning Magical Girls are the only thing allowing humanity to have civilization of any kind, just as Kyubey speculated.

I disagree with this interpretation, but nevermind.

I disagree. Even if the destination of the path is wrought with despair, that doesn't make the path itself less meaningful. Remember our mutual admiration of the Blueberry? Even though she ended up a witch, she still accomplished a lot of good before then.

The specifics weren't the point; my point was that life, in and of itself, is something worth considering as good. But we seem to disagree on that, so meh. I don't think I can change your point of view on that, so...agree to disagree?

Agree to disagree.

Oh, is that what we were talking about?
Yeah, the world would be much better for people if Coobs wasn't screwing up people's lives. Real-world earth is much preferable to PMMM earth.

Well, yes.

Sereg, perfect solutions aren't achieved with magic bullets. It's about incremental progress towards something better. You give people a better tomorrow, and then a better tomorrow after that. You're essentially advocating cutting off a limb that can be saved because the recovery is going to be painful.

No. I'm advocating cutting off a limb that can't be saved and is threatening the rest of the body.

This is, frankly, asinine, and I apologise for calling it as such but I don't know what else to say when so much of the importance of Sabrina is that she's a game-changer for the meguca system.

Playing the game at all is a problem. I don't want a game changer. I want a game ender.

The best hope for a solution has arrived,

Except, she isn't if we can't make witching impossible. Madoka is. Sabrina exists instead of Madokami, and if we can't do comparably to her, it means that the tragedy of the witch system is our fault.

and you want to, what, burn down the world because utopia can't be built in a day?

No. I want to burn the world down because nothing remotely good at all can be built ever. There is not a single thing about the magical girl system that doesn't utterly disgust me on every level. Its existence is an abomination and anathema to me. Literally the end of all is existence s preferable in every way.

The amount of good Meguca magic can do if unencumbered by the need to fight Witches is... Huge. The sheer utility of Homura's power alone is mind-boggling.

Except that the situation we're discussing is one where preventing withing out is impossible, so they will never be unencumbered that way.

It all makes sense now! Clearly, PMCA is what happens if Sereg is the dominant aspect of Sabrina's personality rather then the figurative shoulder-BlueberryofJustice.

PMCA?

I'd forgotten, actually. My apologies.

Understood.

no, you don't, because we can undo witching. We can't undo DEATH.

Even assuming we can, it's a bandaid at best. Because Kyuubey will prevent us from doing so at least most of the time. Even when we succeed, it just means that they will witchout again (probably permanently this time) or die.

Depression runs in my family so I have problems with it, but to kill our friends because we cannot save them from turning into monsters is not the thing to do. At worst, we try to do as much damage to the Incubators as we can before we/our friends Witch, because life as a Monster is better than no life at all.
Death to the Enemy, rather than just ourselves.

Again, we're talking about a situation where this is beyond our power.

I'm kinda badly bummed out right now.

Sorry.

*wince*
As far as I'm aware, if you're clinically depressed you cannot "remain postive" because your default state is negative. As in, your brain simply doesn't normally produce the chemicals that will allow you to stay in the state of "happy".

This is a decent explanation, yes. My bran doesn't produce enough serotonin for me to remain in a positive state.

OKAY! Let's just stop right there and not talk about depression and other mental illnesses. This is a very sensitive topic and there is a lot of misinformation around. I mean I went to professional help for depression for years and I still don't know what I'm talking about. So let's just back away from the subject before someone gets hurt.

This is a good point though.

And lots and lots of people are saying no, living, even for a minute longer, is better. That's how life works. Dying is the literal definition of something that sucks. Anything else is only a fraction of a suck.

I disagree with this inherently, but perhaps I should put in more effort to remember that other people are capable of happiness.

So anyway, we need to befriend this European Soul Gem haxxing meguca as soon as she gets here, and be prepared to rock her instantly if she's hostile.

Agreed.

EDIT: Fetching her is all well and good, but ow do we find her? (Unless we can make a grief construct that does it)
