i think its time to stop sugar coating what a meguca is, or ono is going to die and we won't get anything out of it but another seed if that.

SHe is being very dumb, honestly this is one girl I wouldn't mind witch bombing.

Not least because PMMM is not a setting where "out of sight, out of mind" is going to apply when the little idiot griefspirals herself.
Where did you get "out of mind" from? If we're cleansing her from out of sight she definitely isn't out of mind. Doing more than cleansing doesn't change how often we'll need to check on her to keep her from spiraling while we're doing something else.
Maybe she'll consider working with Masami and Hiroko, just to get Sabrina out of her face.

Mind, they might turn her down, they might now want a third wheel. Also, we didn't exactly give them the first impression of Ono.
Masami and Ono both think we're annoying, they could bond over that.

And we don't already have enough social drama on our plate to stumble through? Dealing with Oriko, Masami, Kyouko, University/Sendai/Fukushima groups, keeping the Mitakihara meguca from imploding under their own neuroses, etc.?

Masami: "Sabrina sucks." *Sips tea*

Ono: "Yes. She's the worst."

Masami: "Like, this one time, she intruded in a private meeting, and caused a lot of trouble."

Ono: "Everything would be better if she didn't intrude where she's not wanted."

Masami: "Well, not really, she kind of saved my life..."

Ono: "..."

Masami: "But she was really rude about it!"

Ono: "..." *Violently sips tea*

Doing more than cleansing stops her from destroying herself/having her issues crush her. Which given her circumstances, probable wish, and family life, are likely.

Do we want to be lazy now and need to do clean-up later when she starts to self-destruct or actually take measures to help her early?

Nope. They're problems that we need to juggle sure, but none of those are good reasons to disregard Ono's tendencies...and doing so would make more work for us later when they inevitably cause her to start self-destructing. She's the Sayaka to our Homu, unfortunately.

It's just talking to her every so often.

Are you implying the Sayakas' suicidal behaviors scale with the Homu's social aptitude?

Since Sabrina is not as clueless as Homura, her Sayaka dies in 1 day if unattended, instead of 1 week?

It's like an extreme version of tamagotchi.

... I'd dread to see what a Sayaka-type-meguca would be like, if the one trying to keep her alive was actually a social butterfly.

Clearly they would have trouble due her wishing to fall into unending despair.

So we keep adding girls to the 'Sabrina Hate Club':

Members:
Tachibana "Fuck You" Sakura.
Gaikotsu Masami.
Hamasaki Akiko. (And consider how, with slightly different circumstances, we could've been her favourite walking Grief Seed meguca ever!)
Nishimura Moe? (Shadow girl got absolutely wrecked)
Koizumi Sasami? (She seemed to care a lot about Moe)
Megane Ono.

Clearly they would have trouble due her wishing to fall into unending despair.
I'm assuming victory exists as a possibility.

If you don't want cleansing her at range to be an option, it's talking to her every time she needs a cleanse. So like twice a day. If you want her to either a: hide necessary cleanses from us and witch out or b: continue to hate us for forcing close interaction whenever we're worried about her, go right ahead.

She isn't going to hide necessary cleanses from us...and honestly, we're going to need to interact with her for things to improve.

I am a'okay with risking both of your scenarios because I consider the former avoidable (when we have a precog and a timestopper, chances are we're going to have a good amount of early warning) and the latter unlikely assuming we actually take the time to improve relations. We're not going to just forget about her after this and things aren't going to get better if we cleanse her at range instead.

They might. Let her cool off and demonstrate that no, we don't have to go inserting ourself into her life all the time.

You'd rather rely on Oriko and Homura than just not incentivize Ono to lie?

Do you remember that annoying kid who injected themself into conversations they had no idea about and refused to leave when told to out of an apparent belief that friendship is determined by word count? That's who you want Sabrina to be.

It means we have to interact with her constantly, which is a massive downside in itself, and our friends will also have to spend inordinate effort making sure she isn't dying of stupid.
Things will get better of their own accord if we keep her cleansed. The fact that we just saved her life will sink in. Her teenager-drama will pass, as teenager-drama does. The upsides of being meguca will become clear.
So; give her a clear seed. Give her the operating instructions. Give her a short visit once every blue moon or when she says she wants it. If she unexpectedly extracts her head from her ass, she knows how to get hold of us.

Never talking to her again- basically what cleansing at range means- is essentially locking ourselves out of the loop where Ono's concerned. Given her wonderful track record to date, I'd rather have actual interaction with her before everything inevitably goes to hell for her.

I want Sabrina to actually talk with Ono from time to time. That makes a lot more sense than just writing her issues off- which is what cleansing at range does. If just keeping her gem clean was enough to keep her alive, things would be a lot less problematic than they quite obviously are.

I guess I can be the Ono advocate, if we're suffering from a shortage of people who are willing to admit they like her.

Really, all we need to do is show up with silly gifts and ice cream and clocks. Attrition will do all the work for us.

Oh, I'm not quite sure I like her, but befriending her might make her likable. And in any case, allowing her to be on her own will probably kill her.

No it doesn't.

If you're okay with bothering Oriko daily with whether or not Ono's going to witch out, surely using her as early warning against a less frequent threat is okay?
I want Sabrina to actually talk with Ono from time to time.
Twice a day?

We can talk to her without cleansing her (if we can't then trying to talk to her during a cleanse is unlikely to be any better received) and we should be able to cleanse her without talking to her. Linking the two will not help.
With a clear seed, she's as close to unkillable as anyone alive.
With a clear seed she'll fuck up and hatch a witch within the week.
