Are we okay with casually intruding and snooping on someone's room?

Just from a cursitory glance we've been able to put two and two together, and I don't think that disregarding her privacy in this manner is a good way to start a friendship.

It smells a little like assuming that we automatically have a right to treat her like a NPC because she's upset, and we must find an answer in the room.

Doesn't seem right.

Also: saw the first hour and a half of Rebellion last night. For twenty minutes left, but damn! The feels! I can finally make meaningful comments about it!

Look. We've been in here for barely a minute and can already tell something is wrong. It does no one any good for those problems to remain private. Especially when those problems can effectively kill you if left unaddressed.

Though I do understand the concern. Perhaps I should modify the vote to only take a look at things that are out in the open?

Guys, whatever she's all miserable about doesn't have a great deal to do with us. Maybe her mundane problems will be relevant to, and come up in, the necessary discussion of (for instance) what in the name of all that's unholy she might be burning enough magic to power the Manhattan Project on, maybe it won't, but that's entirely predicated on starting that discussion with her. We can poke around in stuff that doesn't concern us all night without getting any closer to resolving the stuff that really does.

This is largely a question of priorities. Are you okay with not knowing much about Ono's situation, trying to talk her around for several updates, and possibly failing anyway because she witches out faster than you can save her? Because, well, I don't actually care, but the threadGestalt seems to be generally pro-saving-people in a rapid fashion.

More information would be good.

No matter how this goes we probably aren't giving her any more grief seeds anytime soon.
What. Of course we're giving her a Grief Seed. We don't want her to witch out.

We need to know how badly off she is.

So when are we going to find a therapist for our various allies? Our track record with these kinds of things is terrible and we really should find a professional. For the most part they don't even need to know about magical girls as most of the problems are less than supernatural.

On that note, when are we finally going to bulk order ball bearings for the railgun?

We've got guns now.

[q] Form a contract with Hermaeus Mora to learn the forbidden technique of therapy.

We can pretend we haven't seen as much as we did, simply by re locking the doors and opening the window. And not touching anything.

I don't understand why people are hating on Ono allasudden. I get the annoying from her frosty-frost. But after seeing the update and the image of her on her bed, I can't rationally feel anything but pity and fuzzies and 'TIME TO FIX-FIX!" about her.

Maybe we can FINALLY make a friend that we wern't privvy to the details of through meta-magic. It'd be nice. Eventually. At some point.

I don't know that I'd be friendly towards someone barging into my room and suddenly browsing through my things. Especially if I may, or may not, have unfortunate history with people doing exactly that.

I think the window idea, and the 'you sound like you need help' are good ideas. We should try to make the crying Princess...trust that we really want to help.

I mean, this is a girl that was destined yesterday to turn into the ironic karmic manifestation of her wish. It's not going to be easy to elevate her to a...place where she can be stable.

Think about Mami, and the care she takes. Ono needs some of that.

I've thought about it. Unfortunately for Ono, we don't care about her nearly as much as we care for Mami, so she gets less help.

Harsh, but unless we learn cloning, there's no two ways about it.

What would be nice if we could do it for Ono, is becoming friends, but without her magic being on. Actually become friends.

I don't think it's 'all of a sudden'. I'm still annoyed at Ono, but frankly, what we're seeing is just about what could be expected. Not a surprise.

If you haven't seen the last 20 minutes, then you haven't seen nothing yet.

Beer cans for one, the mother is a heavy drinker for sure. We know nothing about the rest of her family though.
One beer in the hand and a few bottles on the floor is indicative, but it isn't enough to label her a heavy drinker. Maybe she's drinking to forget something painful that happened, perhaps the same thing that Ono was crying about yesterday. And there aren't that many bottles. Depending on how slowly she has been drinking, she might not even be all that drunk.

What. Of course we're giving her a Grief Seed. We don't want her to witch out.
I'm not sure I agree. Grief Seeds are people, too, and we're making progress on the dewitching front (normal seeds to clear seeds was the biggest breakthrough, and we have plenty of ideas on what to do from there). We have been giving people seeds in the past on the assumption that they would keep them safe. We demonstrated to Ono that we are capable of cleansing seeds, but it appears that Ono's injured pride led her to fill up the previous seed and then dispose of it, which means that Gwen has been irrevocably lost. That was partly our fault, of course, but I'm not sure that we want to entrust Ono Megane with another seed.

With respect to the vote and what we can learn about the situation there are (perhaps) some things that we might have already noticed: @Firnagzen - does Ono appear to be calm or upset? How about other woman? Did we notice any pictures in the house or any other signs of inhabitants apart from those two? Apart from the beer cans on the floor, is the apartment clean and well maintained?

Edit: Ono had Gwen, Belle should still be with Kirika.

Got bored, came up with an incomplete ultimatum vote. Meh

[] Exit the apartment. Close and lock all the doors that were locked. Use magic and ask for help if necessary.
[] Telepathy Megane. Be firm and resolved. Don't give her any reason to doubt your words .
-[] Make sure she knows that you found her and are right outside.
-[] Make it abundantly clear that you weren't messing around earlier. You're going speak to her tonight and aren't leaving until you do. It isn't safe to not have a grief seed.
-[] Now, is she going to come out or will she actually force you start banging on the front door? One way or another, you're seeing her now.

We can pretend we haven't seen as much as we did, simply by re locking the doors and opening the window. And not touching anything.

Why would we leave the window open?

[] "She used up the Grief Seed. Explains why she didn't even want to think about going hunting with us... Hopefully didn't mean to go hunt alone in order to show up with a Grief Seed tomorrow."
[] Check if there's another pieces of paper scattered around, or in the trash. If there are, check in case they're suicide notes, or something similarly bad.

Does this look calm to you?
You find Megane sitting on her bed, legs drawn up to her chest. Crumpled in her hand are some papers, ones you can't make out. Her Soul Gem, gleaming on her finger, is perhaps a quarter full... and you can't sense that Grief Seed you'd given her anywhere.

Why would we leave the window open?
Pretending that's how we came in. That was assuming we would talk with her inside, rather than ask her to come outside.

Of course, we can lock everything and ask her to come outside.

If we want to cut the crap a bit, we could fly outside the window and knock?
