A thought: With Ono being as fragile as she seems, we might have to accept this will go wrong. We're avoiding the worst immediate wrong of Scrhönödinger resolving in the wrong side of the meguca equation, but we're definitely burning some of what little goodwill we have with her.
She might become a problem down the line.

Yeah, I don't think we can account for for the 0,1%, catastrophic consequences or not.Consider a scenario where we realize Ono's within minutes of witching out, make a run to save her, and arrive just as her gem cracks.
Consider that Mami may be with us when that happens.
It's not guaranteed to happen, it's a pretty long stretch to imagine that everything would go that catastrophically wrong, but it is a possibility.
Like this, patience; we need to give her the chances she needs. When she realizes she needs to change or self destruct, we need to push her for that change.Lovely.
Patience SV. Ono's lashing out. Kids do that. As much as it would be satisfying to rip into her. Don't be malicious. Just the facts.
Interrupted, I'd say.I'm surprised that we didn't mention having to save one of our friends from being killed. I thought that was in the vote.
Can't elaborate when she doesn't give a care."Yeah, I agree," you mutter. Steeling yourself, you speak telepathiclly to Megane again. "Miss Ono, I am truly sorry that I couldn't meet you after school like I said I would, and you have my deepest apologies for that. I hadn't meant to just blow you off like that."
"So noted," the girl replies, and falls silent again.
"... for goodness' sake," you mutter under your breath,
I'm sure Oriko would contact us unprompted if something as disastrous as Mami witnessing Ono witch-out would happen.
We ain't got to worry about that possibility unless I'm misremembering how Oriko's precog works.
Unless Oriko thinks that Megane dying and/or witching out is better for our common cause.By that logic, if Megane really was in serious trouble, Oriko would have already told us by now. Maybe. It's kind of hard to know.
Yeah, I don't think we can account for for the 0,1%, catastrophic consequences or not.
She gives you a slight frown, raven black hair streaming in the wind behind her.
She suspects! (As in what we were thinking about Madoka and Kirika).
We can start cleansing her the moment she's within 100m - even without establishing line of sight, if necessary - should we detect 'oh shit' concentrations of grief. The only scenario where she's beyond saving is one where she's also dead before we're on-scene.Consider a scenario where we realize Ono's within minutes of witching out, make a run to save her, and arrive just as her gem cracks.
The possibility described sounds actually less likely than 0,1%. In order for Mami to be witchbombed this way, we'd have to arrive at the exact right moment of Ono's witching out, before we can sense and degrief her.We should probably have something in the way of damage control. It's unwise to just ignore this possibility when the entire thread seems to think Mami's one of the single most important people in Sabrina's life.
Alternatively, I've misjudged the thread, in which case *shrug*.
"No, I mean... how finely can you predict things?" you ask. "Could you try to see girls Witching out before it happens?"
"No," Oriko shakes her head, before stopping. "Yes. Maybe." She frowns, eyes unfocusing. When you open your mouth to comment again, she holds up her hand to quiet you. "I follow... threads, of visions. The starting points of those threads are... somewhat random, but it's... easier to follow some than others."
You grimace. "Unhelpful," you say.
The seer shakes her head. "Can you describe how your Grief manipulation works?"
"Sure I can, I reach out with- Hm." You frown, trying to find the words for it. Your powers are... instinctive, like another set of limbs and senses. "OK, point taken. So can you, or can you not?"
"Maybe," she repeats. "Some people are more... visible than others." She gives you a very pointed look.
You sigh. "Fine. I want to know, if you see anything."
Oriko nods.
No... no. No, no, no. That won't do.You glance back at Homura, who's sitting on the carpet. She gives you a slight frown, raven black hair streaming in the wind behind her.
Oriko can see a lot, but she can't see everything. And she specifically said that witchouts are something that she can have trouble with (depending on the circumstances). And Oriko has yet to even met Ono Megane in person. So I would say that it's unlikely that Oriko would have seen anything about Oriko's witchout (even if it did happen), so her silence on the subject doesn't really tell us much.By that logic, if Megane really was in serious trouble, Oriko would have already told us by now. Maybe. It's kind of hard to know.
Another possible witchbomb scenario involving Ono would be if Ono already knows about the witchbomb (e.g. because she saw the witchout that created Belle, the Post Office witch). Ono didn't spill the beans when we talked to her yesterday, but she wasn't pissed at us then. And even if Ono is clueless about the witchbomb, talking with her right now seems like a bad idea. Kai Merah's proto-vote seems reasonable. The possibility described sounds actually less likely than 0,1%. In order for Mami to be witchbombed this way, we'd have to arrive at the exact right moment of Ono's witching out, before we can sense and degrief her.
You are completely right about that Mura, we need to phrase it differently, but still cleanse Ono before it is too late. What's up with that glass jaw line?
Also this has gone beyond requests. We're going to have to force this meeting. Weather she wants it or not.
Wait, what? Glass jaw line?
...
Ono's literally postponing her 'orientation' non-madness/death check because she's angry, because she feels insulted. How can anybody think punching her would help?
