How will we keep it?
We could of course encase it in our grief cloud and lug it around at all times, but that would get old pretty fast and I don't think Mami would like it when she finds out, we're storing guns under our bed. It also should be kept close to us in a place where noone could randomly find it, so we can grab it for emergencies.

Would it be that big of an issue to carry it like you normally do with an assault rifle? It's not like it needs to be hidden when we go out specifically expecting a conflict. And for storing, couldn't we steal a rifle cabinet from somewhere with Homura's help.

We could disassemble it and store the longer parts, like the accessory rail and the barrel, in pouches we sew into the inside of our bag, while storing the smaller parts in grief bowling balls.

Edit: Is it possible to get decent range with a handgun?

If we don't always have it on us, I don't see what the difference would be from being able to ask Homura for a gun. It's an emergency measure against anti-magic and for extra range.

Now that I'm thinking about it, wouldn't it just be easier to carry ammo and make a gun out of grief? If we don't want to just aim with iron sights, we can just grab a scope to mount on our grief gun. Then again, that doesn't work if we have no magic.

Maybe a sawed off barrel that we can extend with grief, so it can still be fired without magic, but with less accuracy.

I dunno. I don't really know guns.

Honestly, it's not like this is the only gun Homura has to offer; why don't we just ask if she has something that's more easily concealable?

We need something long, since this is to make up for our range limit.

We could as for something small, too, in case of anti-magic shenanigans...

You know, since Homura's handing this to us, now I want to accept it. It's like a gift!

But we probably should be more prudent that that. Pre-well thought out vote:

[X] We could keep it in our grief cloud. It would take a few seconds to bring it up ready to shoot that way... unless we can shoot it just with our grief, like we're loading the guns?
[X] We were actually thinking to replicating the guns with grief and just taking the bullets. Would a grief gun feel Witchy? We could test this.

, like the two Desert Eagles. Seems like even here in Japan, there's always someone going for the loud, flashy weapon in complete disregard for cost. None of them are particularly golden, or even gold-ish, you note. You're not sure why that's important, but indeed none of them are.
Of course it's important. Homura's and Golgen Desert Eagles shouldn't mix. That's no joking matter.

You grin proudly at Homura, holding out the now loaded pistols to her, grip first.
Mom, look what I can do. Ain't I helpful?
Another pass of her shield over the ground, and she dumps a larger pile of guns on the ground. Considerably larger.
If you can do that, you can do this.
"Oh fine, be that way," you say with a grin.
...Mom jokes are overused, anyways.

Grief cloud, ask about destroying the drugs/any unwanted consequences from messing with the Yakuza while we're here since they are, after all, pretty bad people? Could probably say more to HomuHomu.

We can probably do just fine without taking time aside for a drug/money raid, honestly.

Even just talking about long-term consequences in general might help, get her thinking about the future here instead of future loops.

Other things to talk about: Walpurgisnacht Plans A and B, the further development of her powers and when she wants to get some more practice in, new and creative ways of ejecting Kyubey from where he's not wanted.

[X] Mention that we were thinking of just taking the ammunition and making the gun when we need it.
[X] Ask whether she thinks a non-magical weapon in case of antimagic is even worth it (how often does that come up?)
[X] Ask if she thinks it's worth it to destroy their drugs and such, or is the reaction too violent to risk it?
[X] ... Walpurgisnacht. She knows more about it than us, but if we're going to coordinate a bunch of girls, a skeleton of a plan should start being made...

I kind of want to include Mami in the Walpurgis planning, though...

Thoughts?:

[X] We think we'll keep it in our grief cloud. Fast draw shouldn't be concern, except...
-[X] Could we get something smaller, too? Something we can conceal, in case of anti-magic or something like that.
[X] About the Yakuza, did she ever check what were the repercusions of this?
-[X] Maybe we should do more than just take the guns. Destroy everything to hinder their operations?
[X] Tell her your plan B for Walpurgisnacht: Homura endless timestop/Mami Tiro Finale barrage/Sabrina the magic battery.
-[X] Does she have plans other than just throwing as many Magical Girls at it as possible?
[X] Anyway, tell her you're happy she asked you to come with. You'll be happy to help her any time.

EDIT: Ah, ninja'd.

We're trying to solve two different problems at the same time with the firearms, and I think they are getting in each others way.

1) Emergency measure for dealing with anti-magic. I'd advise a handgun or revolver, since most effects like this are short ranged. Our 100m range limit to our magic doesn't matter if our magic is turned off. We'd probably be using it in close quarters. Also, I highly doubt we're going to be an expert shot, or super experienced at gun maintenance, so a revolver may be a better choice.

2) Overcoming our 100m range limit. For this, we need a rifle, which will be large and bulky...or do we? We may only need a bullets, making a gun out of grief if we needed to attack at long ranges.

This way, we'd only need an easily concealed revolver, and some rifle ammo, both of which we could conceal on our person.

Hey, would it be possible to Tiro Finale Walpurgisnacht out of the city? Like, push it away with sheer dakka before actually trying to kill it?

Yeah, we should test if just the bullets are enough an we can use them with a grief gun to get past the range limit.
Bullets would be far easier to carry around.

[q] Put the gun in our Barrier, cause Feathers. The Yakuza are now a circus. Homura is not amused.

[q] Put rifle in grief could.
-[q] Feather comes in contact with rifle.
--[q] Get invisitext message thanking you for the 'gift'.

EDIT: Um, guys... not to panic or anything, but I think we left the feather with Mami.
