Oh that would be so Kwaii!!! Hnnnnnng!! *drops dead of cuteness overload*

I think this is something we just have to deal with. It happens in regular conversion too, it's just that quest format is different than a person in terms of how it retains information and reminds itself. Translating from quest to IC and back is a secondary challenge that's been set to the players of this quest, quite purposely, so I can't really see us getting much help in that.

Basically, as a thread, one of the things we're responsible for is maintaining a consciousness, something a regular person doesn't have to do.

Of course, firn did say this would be a hard quest, still we are all doing great, and should be proud of the good things we did, and try no to repeat our mistakes.

I want them to look like chibi Sabrinas...

Like the one posted in the first page?
So cute.

Or maybe something less Clara Doll like?

Clara dolls are not that cute, I was thinking something more like a traditional chibi doll, you can easily find the type of image I was thinking of when I read that post. Still, we should wait until Mami is a bit less traumatized and we are more able to expriment with this.
Edit: EEEEeeeeeeeeeep!

Also, Firn: a potential concern with regards to the quest's formatting/procedure with votes--

Holding parts of votes in abeyance because of unforeseeable complications is a fairly good practice for a number of reasons, but I worry that stuff gets lost in translation, like so:

1) SV makes a multi-part vote -->
2) Firn holds part of it in abeyance because of unforeseeable happenstance/etc -->
3) SV makes a new, shorter/more limited vote to address this new, unexpected turn of events, and keeps it much more limited in scope because they all just experienced most of their longer, broader vote get cut off and dropped without warning (a reasonable reaction to a reasonable practice, but on the whole...) -->
4) Firn enacts the latest vote, which either addresses the current matter or leads to the latest tangent expanding itself -->
5) Events continue along, with the entire chunk of the original vote that was held in abeyance being forgotten/dropped. As a result, at least some (potentially many) voters will later get blindsided by something happening that they thought had already been addressed by a preventative measure (or something) that SV had voted for previously; they don't remember (or misremember, or simply never knew) that the thing they voted for to prevent this exact situation from coming up was something that ended up being cut out and held in abeyance before being forgotten. This differs from SV simply holding off on doing something in a vote because everyone is already on the same page about X not being done, as it leaves some/perhaps many voters under the impression that matter X had already been addressed, leaving the actual issue unaddressed for a long while (until it becomes a big problem).

Not saying this is a frequent phenomenon or anything, but that it feels like it might be often/significant enough (or enough of a potential problem) to keep an eye out for it. Like moments where some big problem comes up and a bunch of voters are confused as to how it happened, saying things like "but didn't we do X a while back?" and a couple people have to go back and dig for the specific posts around the time the guessed timeframe was to figure out what happened.
I mean, to me that's part of Sabrina's head. We get distracted, so does she.

I wonder if the "Who is dreaming?" invisitext line is actually a reference to the time period when Sabrina was shaping the Barrier's contents (and not responsive to Mami's frantic calling for a half-hour straight).
So we're being slapped on the head for sleeping on the job (of looking after Mami)? :p

I... dont' want to think too much about it, since we know so little about Feathers, and it could all be just cryptic bullshit meant to make us paranoid.

Got to put this in a nice little notepad so as to not forget about it. Speculation time comes later.

But of course, I am very glad though that there is an index and story only thread,
But have you read ALL THE OMAKES listed in the first page?

It would be nice if we didn't have to tiptoe around trauma as often as we do.
Should have taken Homura's invitation instead of Mami's at start, then.

... Wait, no.

Why's everybody so traumatized over here?

Because QBs a bastard and they are going through experiences that would traumatize a full-grown man.
Not to mention their lives sucked befor they were magical girls, and are still sucking now.

Well barrier research is cool, but we need to be better prepared so feathers does not get to cause events while we are conked out for a half hour. Not to mention our trust issue, we need to deal with that right now!
Most of the experiments that need to done with respect to Barriers can be done with an empty Barrier. The half hour delay is only an issue if we want to recreate Mitakihara or something on that scale. A small 12x12 room or something should be easily doable.

If the Feathers thing wasn't an issue, I would disagree that barriers aren't practical or not worth it. I would agree, however, they turned out to be a whole heck of a lot less useful than we were hoping for.

Remember that multi-entrance (thus wormhole possibilities) and indirect teleportation were implied to not really be possible, depriving a huge swath of uses we were hoping for it. It's pretty much just a glorified "portable room" at this point; potentially quite useful but not "earth shattering". Not worth risking Feathers over for sure.
We never tested opening multiple entrances; the previous attempt (where we moved the entrance) was inconclusive because we weren't trying to create multiple entrances. And it's only direct teleportation (by opening an entrance to a different location across the city) that isn't possible (or we did it the wrong way). There are still plenty of ways for travelling ridiculously quickly within our pocket dimension that we have not tried. For instance: Muramasa's point about running into something with no time to react doesn't really apply if we're travelling within the infinite void.

The reason that the Barrier is such a big deal for me is that one of my top priorities in this Quest is to set things up so that Sabrina can cleanse everyone. But the fact that we have a 100m range makes that, perhaps not impossible but definitely difficult. The fact that the Barrier may remove or change that restriction (i.e. we were able to create an entire city) means that global cleansing may be closer than it ever was before, so deciding to drop the research on Barriers completely (like some people are suggesting) just because of a single setback (which may not have even had anything to do with the Barrier), really rubs me the wrong way.

Taking things carefully and getting Oriko/Homura/Mami to be there as backup when we next do our research would be a reasonable precaution - and we should do that research soon because if the Barrier is related to "Feathers", then we want to learn what it can teach us about the threat ASAP. But dropping all Barrier related research completely? I really hope we don't.

It'll be a pity if drop it. It'd be nice to check if
travelling within the infinite void.
that works.

Still, there's other things to do.

Unrelated, but do we know what's Oriko seeing, here?
talking about feathers said:
"I don't know!" Oriko bursts out, head finally coming up to stare at you. "I don't know. It... my visions simply stop when I try to look directly at it! If it gets to me or Kirika..." She breaks off, and shudders.
Does Feather have special plans for O&K?

Yeah I hope we don't either, there are still some uses that a barrier has, but this situation has to be dealt with before we do any more experiments, but we shouldn't let this stop us from doing so. Edit: Oh no dis is bad!!

Okay, assume that dimensions... well, planes, are like bubbles here. When we make a barrier, we make a bubble, and Witch-Boss-Fight-rooms are in yet another bubble on their first bubble. Couldn't we disconnect our bubble from reality and then reconnect it somewhere else?

[x] It doesn't feel like my powers.
[x] This wasn't the first time I ran that test; like I told you at lunch, I made the same barrier the same way this morning, and didn't encounter anything unexpected. In any case no more barriers. Not until I find out what feathers is all about.

[x]I...I don't know. Nothing like this happened the first time, but I figured I wasn't going to make any more Barriers. It...There's just too much that could go wrong, and Kyubey seemed way too interested in the first one.
[x]I...I don't think my powers caused it to happen, though. I don't see how they could have...and I think Feathers is something else. I don't have anything concrete but...I have a hunch it's been out there for a while.

[x] It doesn't feel like my powers. At least, not to me. And I certainly never intended for any of this to happen. Does it feel like my constructs to you?
[x] It's not the first time I made the barrier. I made the same barrier the same way earlier and nothing like this happened then. But I figured I wasn't going to make any more Barriers. At least, not until I find out what feathers is all about, or have made sure that it's safe. After seeing this, I think there's just too much that could go wrong. I don't want to risk a repeat. Also, Kyuubey showed way too much interest in the first one.
[x]I...I don't think my powers caused it to happen, though. I don't see how they could have...and I think Feathers is something else. I don't have anything concrete but...I have a hunch it's been out there for a while.
[X] That said, I'm not even positive whatever made the feather is responsible for what happened to Sayaka. It could be someone trying to tell me something, maybe give me a warning, or it could just be an elaborate coincidence, or even intentionally placed there to sow doubt. Who knows?
[x] To be honest, it kind of freaks me out though, if only because I don't know what to expect. At least the feather itself doesn't seem to be attacking us or anything like that.
[x] What I do know is you are my friends. I have no intentions of hurting any of you and I wouldn't use my powers in a way that I believed was going to hurt any of you.
[x] Whatever is wrong can't be fixed until we learn more and panicking or acting rashly isn't going to help, so we should be cautious and stay alert, but wait until we know more before we decide how to deal with the problem.

[x] This wasn't the first time I ran that test; like I told you at lunch, I made the same barrier exactly the same way this morning, and didn't encounter anything unexpected.
[x] But is it possible that there is some weird interaction between my power and "Feathers"? I don't know. If there is some connection, I do want to be careful about creating Barriers in the future. Maybe you could watch over me the next time I try to do so?

This is very similar to Muramasa's vote, except that instead of promising to do no more Barriers until we "find out what feathers is all about", it asks for help from Homura and Mami in order to do so.

[X] Muramasa.

Ehhh that add-on draws too much connection between us. Let's not scare the Homu before we know what we're dealing with.

Given that we made that barrier before with no problems I'm quite sure that our powers aren't causing the feathers.

Whether they are someone sneaking in or someone trolling with us, though....

Also, I kinda want to ask the veterans to inspect the feathers. It is unclearly magical.

Who knows, but I would be a bit more wary this time around, seeing as we lost conciousness for half an hour last time. But I am not going much further then this.
