Falling. You find yourself falling again as the abyssal ground fades away to nothing. Mami and Homura are falling beside you, an-

A ribbon snaps around your waist.

Your fall shifts into a smooth swing, and that building's coming up awfully fast and you grab the ribbon and twist midair. You slam feetfirst into the wall, as if you're doing a particularly energetic bout of abseiling. A quick glance about shows that Mami's just a little bit above you, looking down at you in concern, and Homura's somehow managed to land safely on a girder.
I think it's funny that one guy thought we were going to appear in mid air and tried to plan appropriately, and everybody else shot him down. We were fine and all, yes, but he still saw that coming...

In the end, she contracts to stop Sabrina breaking the windows.
Oh god. She shows up at Mami's doorstep in her meguca outfit asking for cleansing.

We go 'No Sayaka why did you do that, now you're doooooooomed!'

Sayaka's just : Yeah whatever you'll keep me alive right?

Sabrina: Yes.

Sayaka: But now, you can't break my doors and windows anymore.

(Silly Sayaka. That just means we'll break her walls.)
Mami probably gave her a rundown...though she did miss the demonstration thanks to Sabrina inadvertently...getting that woman killed by existing. Oops.
Ehhh... we were literally hours old at that point. It takes time for a quest to gather interest and thoughtful players. Oops. We do what we can.

The grief sofa's a little weird. I think Sayaka would be happier just by being in control of where she's going... Especially after losing control with a witch kiss.

This is why I wanted to make a platform to stand on. We weren't hurt (obviously), but it would have been a lot more graceful to have anticipated the fall.

If this is a trap, maybe we should go back to timestop instead of assuming we are safe.
If the voice from the barrier is any indication, then Timestop wouldn't help.

But it doesn't look like it is a trap, at least not one with physical violence as the payload. If that were the case, then we would have been attacked just after (or just before) we entered the barrier.

There is, however, a possibility that the whole point of the episode was to get Sayaka Witch Kissed and/or killed. Regardless, we ought to carefully check Sayaka with our grief senses for any lingering grief from the Kiss.

There's also a possibility (as always) that the actual target was Madoka. Should we try to contact her (or ask Homura to check up on her)?

[x] Help Sayaka up.
[x] Firmly: Ask her if she's hurt, and how she feels.
[x] If she's fine, relief: Assure her everything's fine now. Tell her she got Witch Kissed, but we got a warning. Ask Sayaka what's the last thing she remembers is.
[x] Apologize for kind of breaking into her home while looking for her. Ask her if it's normal for her parents to turn in this early.
[x] If Sayaka's feeling well enough, offer to take her home.

Agreed with Mura. The sofa seems unnecesary. Any place for sitting is fine enough since we're making some check-up then storming out of there.

Oh it's not like I didn't believe you, it was more that grace isn't on my list of concerns.

Pretty sure we'd notice if there was some abnormal grief on her since sensing that is literally our power. Letting Mami explain is all well and good, but how does bringing in the mado help? Homura won't like it either.

Our grief senses are hardly perfect. All humans have a certain base level of grief and we wouldn't necessarily notice that it was higher than normal unless we were specifically checking for it.

Err... what's up with that last line?

Madoka is Sayaka's best friend and is the person best suited to helping her if she's not feeling well.

Why wouldn't Homura like it? Homura is probably starting to feel a bit antsy since she hasn't seen Madoka in a while. Bringing her in where Homura can keep an eye on her should make Homura feel less stressed, if anything.

Law of Conservation of Narration. If it isn't abnormal, then it isn't mentioned. She could have abnormal levels of grief, but we'd be checking for that without having to vote for it, because Sayaka is our mom's friend and we care about her. Firn'd have to suddenly become pretty mean in order for us to have to vote to check to see if she has an abnormal amount of grief in her system, when that's something that we can't not know while she's in our absurd sensing range.

This is still a potential danger zone, and there are better ways to check up on Madoka. Unless her safety is being imminently threatened then no i'd rather her not be directly involved in this incident. Though checking in on Madoka is a thing that should happen.

Perfect? No. But within this range? Remember, this is a story, it would be kind of dumb if we didn't notice something we were actually touching having extra grief.

Exposing Madoka to more sads and such, pushing her towards contract, that's why.

This is probably another one of those things that comes from me trying to react as if the story were real rather than trusting the Law of Conservation of Narration. In real life, if I had a friend who had just been mind controlled by a despair monster and almost forced to kill herself, then I would check for any lingering effects to the best of my ability.

We killed the witch, now the only danger is "Feathers". Since it hasn't attacked us directly (despite having ample opportunity to do so), the Industrial District isn't any more dangerous than anywhere else.

Madoka's friend just got attacked. That's a thing that she would want to hear about so that she can be there for Sayaka. This would also allow us to keep an eye on Madoka without alarming anyone.

We're not actively hiding the fact that Sayaka got Witch Kissed from Madoka, are we? That's a step too far.

This is what I meant, actually. You're reacting as if this is real, instead of a story, but so is Sabrina. That's her whole shtick; she is the whole thread as a single person living through this. You'd check to see if there was any lingering damage from the Witch Kiss, and so would Sabrina, specifically because you would, because the thoughts you express here are some of her many thoughts (Which comes back around, utilizing the Insanity Train-of-Thought, to my point that if some mind reader got into Sabrina's head she'd explode).

We are already checking her over with all the senses currently available to us, and anything more thorough would require us utilizing Witch!SCIENCE!Artifacts, and if there's something on her that we can only pick up with those, then it's been done by something that isn't a Witch.
So basically that would mean that Feathers has tipped her fluffy hand...

No, but going out of our way to show her first hand will not be popular with Homura.

That's kind of the issue, yes: this isn't real life, and so the amount of caution one would display IRL when dealing with magic stuff is just unnecessary here. In real life, your troubles don't have to make any sense to you, and you don't have to be given fair warning. Here? We generally get warning, and the threats have to make sense, since a game where shit comes out of nowhere with no prior explanation and kills you and your friends is no fun.

This is still the biggest hot spot for Feathers activity that were aware of. Common sense generally is to get away from the place in which bad shit has gone down recently.

Re Madoka: It's better to get a complete picture of what's going on with Sayaka first, so that we're not putting Madoka through anymore worry then what's necessary.

After that, then yeah we should let her know what's going on.
