What if instead of "Who are you?", it was "Who art thou?"?

"One of us, thou art not."
[q]Thou art I and I am thou.

So... we don't wanna tell Mami or Homura that we're hearing suspicious voices? It seems like a good idea to me. :V
Eh.

[x]Ask Homura and Mami if they heard a voice when they entered the barrier.
[x] Put a little more distance between the three of you and the witch. Just in case. A little extra time to react to things couldn't hurt.
[x] Ask Homura to drop timestop. Grief rend it as the attacks hit, just to go for ludicrous overkill and in case it lashes out.
[x] Grief scan again after the barrier dispels. If no new developments, offer cleansing.
[x] Ask Homura and Mami if you can keep the seed.
[x] Go check on Sayaka.
-[x] Actually, was she really the only one that was witch kissed?
[x] Make sure she's okay. Try and wake her up if she's still out of it.
-[x] Tell Sayaka she was witch kissed (prompt for Mami or Homura to explain if she doesn't know what that is.). Ask Sayaka what was the last thing she remembers.
[x] Offer to take Sayaka home.
-[x] If she accepts, once you're there ask if her if it's normal for her parents to turn in this early.
--[x] Or ask her after the offer if she declines.

You know that sounds like a terrible idea in this setting.

Unless we had wished for it, which we could've have. Not as fun as grief powers, though.

I think Homura heard something. She seemed annoyed. I speculate this is a normal thing that Elsa Maria does, though it working during timestop... Homura'd know.

Maybe we should tell them.

FAKE EDIT: Specify not 'just heard a voice', but as soon as we entere the Barrier?

Perhaps respond to the invisitext voice with invisitext runes?

Added to the vote that I shamelessly took from Mura.

All those tragedy novels have shown me that a lot of things would go better if people would communicate properly. :V

[X] o3o

Better safe than sorry, and your name looks like a funny face and is therefore fun to type, so there's that...

Well, we eat lunch with god and the devil regularly, we've made a faustian bargain, and we do have wings... :V
Let's be the Angel of Witches. All shall become our familiars. Through familiarship, they shall be saved, for they are welcome into our New World, where we shall take all the Despair into ourselves, so none else might suffer...

Will this get me slapped with a rolled up newspaper?

Uh, guys...we REALLY should throw some more firepower at the Witch before dropping timestop. Remember how much of a beating Elsa Maria took in canon? Add in whatever mysterious shenanigans are going on now, and it's better to be safe than sorry and use excessive firepower.

So, like, another Tiro Finale and Homura adding in her own barrage of bullets.

Last thing we want is Mami Mogu v2.

Ehhhhh

It was hard for Sayaka. All three magical girls fighting it right now are quite a bit more powerful and experienced than she was.
???

Doesn't change the fact that it still took a hell of a beating before dying, and when it costs us nothing to add in a second one for good measure, why not do it? And think of it this way: if it does survive the hit and lashes out immediately, even if we do bring it down in short order afterwards, it'll startle and unnerve Mami and Homura yet again after a fairly harrowing day already.

Plus, I imagine there's a reason why Firn ended the update here. It just seems utterly careless and foolish to drop all sense of caution at the last possible moment of danger.

OK, things have cleared up a bit in RL, and so I can now pick up where I left off and jump back on this crazy train. But before I do, I just wanted to share something I found:

Ehhhhh. Grief rend is powerful. Sayaka was beating it with a sword. Clumsily.
We are shooting at it with a tiro finale and are grief rending her. She doesn't stand a chance. I mean, sure extra dakka wouldn't hurt, but I really don't see it being necessary.

Getting hit by a sword by Blueberry is an order of magnitude less powerful then having the very material the witch is made out of ripped apart and forcibly taken under the control of an enemy. Like, we're literally ripping it apart; there'd be nothing left to take apart.

Like, if the witch was a fortress, Sayaka's sword might have been a cannonball. Tiro Finale might be an actual missile. Grief Rend would be taking the fortress apart brick by brick and then rebuilding it into a statue of MECHA GURREN ZILLA LAGANN.
