"Do we still need to meet in person?" you snap mentally, holding your own teacup still.

"Yes," Oriko says, voice strained. "It's- this shouldn't have happened."

She blows out a hard breath. "This shouldn't have happened," she says without further preamble. A pained frown creases her forehead, and she rubs at it as she speaks. "The Witch you asked about shouldn't have reached Mitakihara so soon."

"Go on?" you say. Mami shuffles up beside you, and takes your hand in hers. Her fingers are cold against yours.

"It shouldn't have happened," she says, a strained note in her voice. "It can't have happened. Miki Sayaka should be at home right now."

You frown at her, perplexed.

So why are we here in person if she's going to be giving us the same information she did over telepathy?

Not the time for the feathers. It's not a time constraint it's a people constraint. It'll freak everyone out and have unpredictable effects. It's not the time to bring this up.

I figured out what is going on guys! I figured out all the mysteries, its all down here, all of the GM's notes.

Obviously Sayaka wished to have all the powers. Her sudden teleporting is her using her timestop to reach the Witch faster, and when we arrive Sayaka is going to scold us for getting so worked up over nothing.

Feathers will turn out to be really nice and be convinced by our example on how to be a good person, following in our footsteps to help us save everyone forever.

Oriko and Kirika won't die and live happily ever after.

Walpurst won't even be a problem and it is fully possible to beat her just with Sabrina.

Mami just needs a few more hugs and she will be 'kay. and we will have happy adventures with her for the rest of the Quest.

I am not deluding myself because this is PMMM, a happy carefree Magical Girl Anime where nothing bad happens and it never hurts.

@Gadjo : Better they freak out - if they would do so, since unlike Sabrina they don't exactly panic at the sight of it - now than in the middle of combat today or later when it comes up instigated by, say, Kyubey if not feathers themself.

When this is over we might have to explain a few things to Mami.
For example why we asked Oriko for information about a speciffic witch and how we even knew the witch existed and is bound to appear in Mitakihara in the first place.

I doubt Mami will ask about these things on her own, but the more we keep her in the dark, the easier it becomes for her to figure things out in the long run.

See, now, we often get down on ourselves for hiding things, but that's also often necessary. We'd like to come clean in time, but we're dealing with very fragile characters here, let's not forget. Bringing up the feather at this exact moment would be foolish.
Mami has severe trust issues and worries constantly that Sabrina will leave her either by accident or on purpose.
Homura rarely trusts anyone, Sabrina and Kyoko probably being the two people she's ever trusted the most.
Oriko is terrified of what the feathers are and what they might do. She may act... irrationally if presented with it.

Shit could go down in a bad way if we brought this up now. It's better presented slowly, and preferably to one person at a time.

That makes no sense at all. That's terrible reasoning.
Huh? I not only consider it possible that it comes up today, but I consider it certain that it will come up if we don't bring it up, given multiple hostile parties capable of it (feathers & Kyubey). I trust us to handle combat-relevant disclosure better than them.

Why do you think those do mean shouldn't disclose or do not apply?

@Gadjo: None of that outside Oriko applies very much - and Oriko deserves to know, by extension of having told us about it in the first place.

I did consider bringing up it to Homura first, then Mami, but if we're going to show it to Mami anyway it is not worth to sting her with exclusion.

It is certainly possible to exclude Mami here, but for now I wager her suspecting malice like Sabrina is not as troublesome as her not feeling excluded and being less able to respond to threat provided. That said, out of all of them she's the one who least needs to know and can be revealed to later, so I can see a basis for exclusion.

It applies to Homura because it's something we haven't told her, and it applies to Mami for the same reason.

Also, they all deserve to know, but then Mami also deserves to know a lot of things that we aren't telling her yet for very good reasons. Oriko could get some funny ideas if we go bringing it up right now. Like I said, we need to present it to each person alone. It just works better that way. How about we focus on the rescue op, then worry about the feather? One thing at a time.

There are lot of things we haven't told Homs and Mami, and they're mostly innocent ex. not telling what flavour of icecream Masami picked. Worries about "not telling them things" is answered by the very fact that we are telling them right then.

Why do you think we need to present this to Homura and Mami separately?

Also, we can't tell them about feather before rescue OP if we focus on rescue OP first - and I'm not sure what additional benefit it would grant to do it after when danger has passed.

Hey, guys? Can we save these fucking reveals for AFTER we need everyone to have a clear and rational mind for the sake of rescuing our friend?

And when the foremost thing should be making sure Sayaka is alright, telling them about the feather now only serves to split their attention. I do not agree with your reasoning.

The whole point of doing it before is to make rescuing Sayaka safe for both her and our teammates. o_O We're not on a time constraint to explain and get clear mind, so it is best to go in it with both eyes open lest they miss something.

Not only has timestop has been unsafe frequently enough, it would help with looking for clues - which is definitely a thing we want to do.

Okay.

[x] One moment. Offer cleansing to everyone.
[x] I couldn't contact her. Is Sayaka okay? Is there anyone else with her?
[x] Is there anyone else involved? Other magical girls?
[x] When your vision changed, did anything strange occur?
[x] You said that this is impossible. Why? Does it just not math with your visions or did Sayaka teleport or something?
[x] Could someone or something be interfering with your visions? Maybe even giving you false ones?
[x] You've mentioned times that your vision was blocked before. Is this time the same as those other times, or different?
-[x] If it's the same: What should we do if we come across something that might be blocking your visions?

[x] Is there anything else we need to know? You said that you needed to see us in person instead of just using telepathy
[x] See if Homura and/or Mami have any questions.
[x] If Sayaka is supposed to be at home, then we should go and see if she's really not there to find out if your visions are still working properly and you're not being deceived.
[x] Go with Mami and Homura to rescue Sayaka if we don't learn anything new. Check her house before the industrial district and stop to reasses if she's at home.

I agree that we need to find out why Oriko needed to see us in person, why this is so "impossible" and to check that Sayaka isn't actually at home. We need to be open for the unexpected. I also don't want to hide things we don't have to hide, but showing the feather may cause unpredictable results, so let's get a clue as to how people would react.

Exactly. For now? We need to save Sayaka from a witch. The feathers can wait. Think about it: what could we tell them that would prove useful in combating it? "It exists, and it isn't a witch, and it blocks Oriko's futuresight." That's literally all we know about it. Mami and Homura are probably already on edge because of how out of sorts Oriko is. Telling them right now is just plain unnecessary.

While I don't like not bringing up the feather, I'm willing to shelve it for a bit to get the Sayaka thing out of the way first. Can there at least be a note along the lines of 'there's something important that I need to talk to all of you about later, after Sayaka's been saved'?

We were originally going to talk to her about our meta knowledge before all this happened- so that wouldn't be disastrous. We probably should let her know soonish.

No, that doesn't really add anything and just distracts everyone at a bad time. The feather is best left out of the vote entirely and outright shelved.
