I like the questions and the thoroughness of the vote. What I don't like is the delay that is induced before entering timestop. Once we're in timestop, we can ask Oriko and Homura all the questions we like without risking any problems due to the passage of time or Kyuubey's wiretapping.

Asking if it's the Glass witch needs to be done now. If it is the Glass witch, then pinging Ono needs to be done now. Pinging Sayaka could be done either now or after we meet with Oriko. Everything else can be done within timestop.

We probably have enough time, but fine. Leaving some stuff for later in order to save time.

[X] Ask Oriko if you still need to drop by.
-[X] I asked about multiple witches. Which one? The witch I asked about yesterday, or the day before?
--[X] If it's not the glass witch:
---[X] Tell Mami it's a witch, and Sayaka's in danger.
---[X] If not immediately in timestop afterwards, quickly telepathy Sayaka. Ask her what's going on.
----[X] If Sayaka is fine (for now) and we're still not in timestop, ping Ono and ask if she wants to join us on a hunt
-----[X] Tell her that we want to train her
---[X] Ask Homura if she can get to you now. Time is of the essence, after all.
--[X] If it is the Glass Witch:
----[x]Ping Ono. Let her know that there might be a problem and need to check up on her.
----[x]If she is in the process of imploding, let Homura know we need to get to her ASAP.
-----[x] Tell Mami that we need to go with Homura now.

----[x]If she's okay, for now, tell her that we need to see her for training immediately
-----[X] Tell Mami that Oriko has seen that Ono is in trouble and about to run out of magic
----[X] If she doesn't respond, tell Mami that it's a witch, and Sayaka's in danger, but that something about this witch is dangerous to Mami in particular
[X] Quickly telepathy Sayaka. Ask her what's going on. Try the phone if telepathy fails.
[X] Let Kirika know to guard her Oujo and warn us if something is going down
[X] Get Mami (if she is coming) and Homura in timestop
-[X] Make sure the burners for the tea are off and let Mami finish her tea (if she is coming)
[X] Head off in timestop. Go to Oriko if she needed to meet. Otherwise, go find Ono if she is involved, or go find Sayaka priority #1, the Witch priority #2.

Concerning the future of Sayaka averted..a body unmarked, huh? That doesn't necessarily mean witch-out.

What about poison? As I recall, H.N. Elly planned to dispatch a warehouse full of people by forcing them to mix together vinegar and bleach to form toxic Chlorine Gas.
A witchout definitely wouldn't be the only possible way for a person to die with the body (apparently) unmarked, simply the most likely explanation.

Chlorine Gas is pretty nasty stuff. If I understand correctly, it kills people by creating Hydrochloric acid when it reacts with the water inside the body. I'm not sure if the body would appear unmarked (I suspect not), but the body would definitely be damaged.

[X] Ask Oriko if you still need to drop by.

It looks like this vote is very similar to SWB's except that we don't bring Mami along if we can't contact Ono or if she sounds like she's imploding. I approve.
[x] Sereg

There's another difference. I contact Ono even if it isn't the glass witch, because we desperately need to see her anyway. SWB thinks this is too dangerous. I don't.

I hope this feather stuff doesn't interrupt out shopping trip. Because then I'll be pissed.

There are lines you simply do not cross.

Having finally watched Rebellion, it's even worse that we broke Mami. I mean, come on. that fight was one of the most epic things I've ever seen!

It's getting rather annoying that people keep on perpetuating the fallacy that we're solely responsible for breaking Mami- do remember the Incubator had a rather significant part in that as well, eh?

Edit: Let me be clear- I'm of the mind that our current path is not helping.

Okay, true, she was quite breakable anyway, but its... hm... actually, it think its mostly our collective hero-complex and associated guilt.

Our Benefactor pt. 23
Damn it.

You can't have failed. It can't be Megane. She couldn't possibly have Witched out this fast.

And you can't ignore this. Whoever it is. Not that that was ever a realistic proposition.

At your side, Mami hums lightly as she inhales the gentle fragrance of her tea, eyes closing.

"Do we still need to meet in person?" you snap mentally, holding your own teacup still.

"Yes," Oriko says, voice strained. "It's- this shouldn't have happened."

"Right," you say, mind whirling through plans, shuffling through them rapidly. "Oriko. The Witch I asked about yesterday, or the day before?"

"The day before," the seer says. "That's the problem."

Elsa Maria, then. Ahead of Orikos' predicted schedule of tomorrow, or so it seems. Which is... admittedly strange. You huff out a slow breath and take a sip of the tea. "Can you tell us where Sayaka is? Or rather - will be?"

"She's in the old industrial district already," Oriko replies.

"Why?" Homura interjects, her voice glacier cold.

"That's the problem. I don't know," Oriko hisses. "She has no reason to be caught up in this."

"Homura?" you ask sharply. "Where did you see her last?"

"She was heading home," Homura replies.

You suppress a grimace. "Damn. Hold on a moment."

"Sabrina? Is something w-wrong?" Mami looks over at you, lowering her teacup. Worry lines her face, her golden eyes anxious as she turns a beseeching gaze on you.

A sigh. "Yeah. Sayaka might be in danger," you say.

Mami's eyes widen. "What? How do you know?"

"Oriko," you say, holding up a hand to forestall her next sentence. "I know, I know, she might be lying, but this is a... rather pointless lie, if it is one." You switch mental channels, reaching out for Sayaka. "Sayaka? Are you there?"

Mami swallows, and nods hesitantly. She puts her teacup down. "W-where are we going?"

Your lips flatten out for a moment as you consider that. You briefly consider leaving Mami behind - you can do this by timestop, but on the other hand, no. It'd do more harm than good. "We need to go and see Oriko," you say. "And... we need to go by timestop. Are you OK with that, Mami?" You reach out with your free hand, taking Mami's hand in yours.

Mami seems to sag for a moment. She leans forward, setting her teacup down before looking at you again, trying to look resolute. "Yes," she says, nodding slowly. She's clearly steeling herself for it, with an air of tension in her shoulders. Her fingers clasp tightly against yours, a slight tremble belying the strength of her grip.

You smile at her. "Thank you, Mami," you say, squeezing her hand back. Still no response from Sayaka, though, so... you'll try again. "Sayaka?"

Still nothing.

"Sayaka's not responding," you murmur, feeling a worried frown crease your brow. Mami looks even more worried, now. You grope for your phone, and dial Sayaka's number. You're already rising to your feet, one hand holding the phone to your ear and the other clasping Mami's. You pull her to her feet with what you hope is a reassuring smile.

The call rings through to voicemail, and your lips press together.

That's not good.

One last check that the stove is off, a small effort of will to cleanse your Gem, and then... "Homura?" This time, you include Mami, too.

"Yes?" the time traveller responds.

"Can you come and get Mami and I by timestop?" you ask.

"On my way," she says.

You nod to your-

-self. Violet eyes framed by long, black hair meet yours. Homura's expression is flat and nearly unreadable, the slightest hint of a frown on her face. The oppressive silence and grey hues of the timestop press in all around you, lifeless and uncomfortable. Mami, like you, glances around, her grip tightening on your hand, and you suppress an unhappy grimace, instead focusing on Homura.

"Hey, Homura," you say. "Thanks for coming."

Homura's eyes soften slightly, the frown easing, and she nods.

"OK," you say. "So... Oriko said that she wants us to meet her."

"Yes," the time traveller says, voice toneless.

"Shall we?" you say. "And, um, Mami, could you..."

Mami nods, her hair brushing limply against her shoulders. Golden ribbon spools out from her hand, as if drawn from some unseen reel, and it wraps around your waist, and then Homura's. The time traveller nods her thanks at Mami, stepping back from you before heading over to the door, hanging slightly ajar.

"Mami," you say softly, still holding her hand as you head out. "It'll be OK. We'll do this together."

She gives you a small, wavering smile in response as the three of you head out, hopping over the roofs. The swish of air and your breaths accompany the three of you. An occasional sharp crack here and there is concrete breaking underfoot.

Some unspoken urgency impels all three of you, and by silent agreement, you push hard, speeding across Mitakihara in record time. You reach Oriko's mansion quickly, finding Kirika frozen in the act of sliding the glass door open.

The three of you file pass Kirika, frozen mid bounce and mid grin, to find Oriko waiting in the living room. You'd caught her mid blink, apparently, eyelids drooping out of phase with each other and you fight off an extraordinarily inappropriate giggle.

"Mami?" you say. "Could you do the honours?"

"Of course," she says, reaching out one hand. A quiet click comes from Homura's direction, and you look over just in time to see her withdraw a pistol from her shield.

At the touch of Mami's ribbon, colour suffuses Oriko's form. She blinks, shivering slightly as she looks around. "Hello," she greets all of you, blinking quickly.

"Hello, Oriko," you say.

She blows out a hard breath. "This shouldn't have happened," she says without further preamble. A pained frown creases her forehead, and she rubs at it as she speaks. "The Witch you asked about shouldn't have reached Mitakihara so soon."

"Go on?" you say. Mami shuffles up beside you, and takes your hand in hers. Her fingers are cold against yours.

"It shouldn't have happened," she says, a strained note in her voice. "It can't have happened. Miki Sayaka should be at home right now."

You frown at her, perplexed.

Bah. Life.

Edit: Woah, story post during composition.

Edit 2: vote and reasoning still apply. Going with it.

Okay, true, she was quite breakable anyway, but its... hm... actually, it think its mostly our collective hero-complex and associated guilt.

In beginning to wonder if part of it now is how Mami is comparing herself to Sabrina.

Mami doesn't realize Sabrina is pretty much in exactly the same place as she is herself. Things are falling apart, spinning out of Sabrina's control, but Mami doesn't, can't see the conflict in this thread over what to do, and the panic we feel here isn't making it into the story except as a few suppressed physical reactions and a rapidly expanding To Do list.

Mami requires our presence. Now the unknown future requires our intervention, and we've been lying that she isn't a burden.

Here's the vote that gives Mami the opportunity to prove to herself that she isn't a burden. We have a little time. We can prevent witchouts for every girl in a hundred meters by constantly draining Grief. Mami is right next to us. Homura and Oriko are in telepathy.

Did the present ... change, around us?

Hmm. Did anything happen the last time we created a barrier? When did we create it? I guess I have two theories coming from this:
1. Creating the barrier and fiddling with it allows Feathers (I'm considering it to be Homucifer or Devil!Sabrina) access to this timeline.
2. Sabrina entering her own barrier causes the timeline to attempt to reassert itself as though Sabrina weren't present in it.

We might not want to play around with our barrier too much...

At least it doesn't seem to have anything to do with Megane.

So Oriko's predictions changed when we left the barrier and apparently Sayaka suddenly teleported to the industrial district without anyone noticing. All without any kind of sign or reason why Sayaka would even go there beforehand.
So some sort of reality warping that doesn't affect magical girls, but everyone else?
I mean Homura and Oriko don't show any memory loss or strange behaviour so far and seem to be on the same page as Sabrina.

Regardless of the reason for this, the first thing we should do is try to find Sayaka. If she can't asnwer us by telepathy and also can't answer her phone she could be in some serious trouble.

Well. it didn't help that Sabrina recreated Homulilly's Rebellion Barrier - the false city Mitakihara. This gave Homucifer ideal way to reach her - and is a good argument for the theory Sabrina is a former Clara Doll given soul and live by Madoka.

Well, that sounds suspiciously like a Time Stop, no? Have we ever seen Homura fight another girl with time manipulation? Because I don't know if being attached to her shield protects her from other people stopping time.

None of this matters right now. Our first priority is to get SAYAKA to safety once we do that we can just ask her what happened.

If we are going to spend time talking about the situation let's at least do it in time stop where we have all the time in the world.

[] Oriko, think. What could have messed with your visions like this?
[] Did you see feathers?
[] When did the future change? When did you last see Sayaka home at this time?

If we are going to spend time talking about the situation let's at least do it in time stop where we have all the time in the world.

We are in timestop. We travelled via timestop to Oriko's place, and then Mami touched Oriko to bring her into timestop so we could talk to her.
