Um, how does that work? You are the author, right?
Do you like roll for whether some questions will be asked, or something?

Anyways, aside from answering Mami, rest of the vote in abeyance still looks good.
Sometimes, characters just do things. Even when you don't expect or want them to do things. It can be bloody annoying.

Basically, you simulate what a character would say in your head then just write that. It's the same thing you do when you ask yourself how your friend will react if you tell them about x.

[ ] Better than expected. Kyouko seems like she's having a hard time taking care of herself and Yuma, she had no seeds left and her gem wasn't clear. I gave her a seed and offered cleanses. We had a little sparring practice and I think she likes me now. That girl is so tsundere it isn't even funny.

[] "Pretty well. After I beat her in a spar she said we aren't friends and that she isn't being tsundere, which is a huge step up from last time."
[] "Also, I asked her to send over any girls she kicks out of her territory, so...that might be happening? Sorry about not asking first, it was kind of spur of the moment."

I do not believe that this line is something we should be telling Mami. No need to cause her to worry more. It should be something more along the lines of "She's doing decently. Yuma's really taken a shine to her."

Mostly works for me, but are you sure we didn't come to a draw? We basically both disengaged and then she unsummoned her weapon. I suppose we should repost the luch topics part of the vote, or come up with something else.

It was actually quite smart of her. She disengaged just at the point that she would have been overwhelmed by griefhax, allowing her to keep her pride while also acknowledging our strength.

So yeah, technically a draw but only because it ended when it did.

Fair. She is doing decently now that we've visited anyway.

Hiding uncomfortable truths from people to keep them from worrying is not part of our job description; honestly, it's something that we've been doing too much of lately and it's part of the reason for the trouble that we had with Mami last night. In this case we can tell her that Kyouko and Yuma needed our help, and we were able to help them. We gave them a grief seed and we can manage cleanses for them on a regular basis, but if Mami is still worried about Kyouko, then that's fine. It just means that she cares about her friend.

About time somebody commented on the ring.

Also, skydiving yay! Maybe we can cheer up Sayaka like that?

Sugarcoating the fact that Kyouko is struggling, doesn't sound like the right call to make either.
Explain what possible purpose could telling her that Kyouko's on her last legs and probably wouldn't have lasted long without our help could possibly serve during a fucking lunch break designed to make Mami feel better?

About time somebody commented on the ring.

"At times, pinky rings have been worn with the intent to convey a message or indicate affiliation. During the Victorian era, both single men and women uninterested in pursuing marriage could wear a ring on the little finger of their left hand.[...]Especially in the United States, pinky rings also developed an association with criminal activity.[9] Grifters were thought to wear such rings, sometimes to provide their associates with a source of funding for their funeral expenses in case of their death,[10] as were made men in theAmerican Mafia.[11]"

That's it! She thinks we're a made woman, here to marry into the Yakuza! It's all coming together!

There's no need to brag to Mami about our prowess, she's already seen exactly how strong we are.

We want her to be open to reconciliation, and that means sympathetic. Making as if Kyouko's doing fine alone isn't merely bullshitting her - which we just said we'd try to dial down - it's also counterproductive.

Let's not add another secret to the "pile of shit we're hiding from Mami". As long as we emphasize that we'll be able to get her to accept our help, I think it'll be okay. It's not the most pleasant of news, but we shouldn't be treating every piece of (only somewhat) bad news like it's the witchbomb.
