Honesty:

[] "Again? No, she did not. However, she is one of the seven reasons I am doing this. And other six are a dangerous witch called Walpurgisnatch, an expected future threat from other cities. Then people: someone you haven't met, Yuma, the people who die in your territory. And finally, you too."
-[] "I want to help everyone - and that does include you."

Then again, honesty is not always the best option :V Certainly, only mentioning some of them, or even in different order would have much different tone.
Honesty is that we don't need her for Walpurgisnacht and it certainly isn't that 85% of our reasons for socializing with her are Walpurgisnacht. I don't know where you got the impression that we were just trying to butter her up to get her to agree to be cannon fodder, and yes, that is how she'll interpret that.

We could use this to lead into telling her about Mami's situation and the lichbomb.

[] No... Mami isn't doing so well right now.
-[] if she asks, explain about the lichbomb, Kyubey's betrayal, and Mami's guilt.

Uh..What?

a) I think you mean 15%, not 85%. Numbers are srsbzns
b) You may not consider Wally danger, and I don't care Kyoko much for that battle either, but enough people have voiced their thoughts on Wally enough times that it'd be dishonest to leave it out.
c) She didn't think Homura was buttering her up to be cannon fodder in canon, even if she was reluctant to stay.
We could use this to lead into telling her about Mami's situation and the lichbomb.

I kinda do want to tell her.

I estimate she will get less mad at us than worry about Mami.

Could also work for the social reasons, alongside the whole rabbits magical girls die when they get lonely.

I'v gotta say, I've really liked this story. Sabrina is absolutely broken but it comes off as entertaining.

So if I may make a suggestion, Kyoko thinks our powers are unnatural right? I'm thinking we should tell her we deliberately wished for them at some point. Might set her at ease.

Okay, so it looks like the first scenario I was considering has come up. Kyouko is having a hard time providing for two magical girls, prioritising Yumas' grief over her own. She should be more amenable to the friendship route than she would be otherwise, although we should still avoid making her feel like a charity case. Emphasising that we want to help girls like Yuma should work well, seeing as Kyouko also wants to help her so she can't see us as stupid idealists without thinking the same thing about herself.

Launching the SS Friend Ship! All systems are go!

Should be frown, I guess.

Is it just me or is Kyouko warming up to us? We can even honestly say that mami isn't the one that is behind the meeting.
Kyouko bringing her up on her own is also a good sign. She doesn't seem particulary angry about it.

Also Oriko seems much less pisssy than usual about us asking her something.
Yes, Kyouko seems to be warming up to us. I imagine having some time to cool down from our last visit helped, and she seems to be having some trouble providing for both herself and Yuma over time. Sabrina is associated with Mami, but she seems to much more readily respect Kyouko's boundaries and preferences (or at least avoids easily provoking them based on past relationships), too.

As for Oriko: simple. Kirika interrupt, probably involving kissing (but it's ambiguous, really). And Oriko does have a point about things one should/should not discuss over telepathy, which is probably why she usually sounds more guarded, prissy, and annoyed over telepathy.

Not bad, Kyoko seems fairly chill, if not borderline friendly - I am intrigued and cautiously optimistic.

So, first thing's first - who has a list of things we need to talk to her about?
As far as I'm aware the things we have expressed interest in discussing with her include but are not limited to:
  • Update on Oriko (did we ever tell Kyouko that she isn't a problem anymore?)
  • Update on the One Day War
  • Try to get a cleansing arrangement going like with Sendai/UG (& Ishinomkai?) - seed exchange and offer to help hunt (backup in case - extra eye on Yuma).
  • On that note, just in case, no more familiar farming - also please don't give filled seeds to QB if you can help it <out of earshot of Yuma>
  • Mami's in a bad way ATM - it'd be super cool if you were interested in rebuilding some burnt bridges *hint hint*
  • Possible collaboration on our enchanting research into grief seeds or CQC training or whatever the suggestion was a while back
  • Possible assistance when the circus comes to town <optional>
  • Possible setting up of and cooperation with a new Healing Circuit using Yuma's skillset
  • Set up playdate with best mini-me ("Hey, I've got a friend about your age who's really going through a rough time of it - maybe you'd like to meet up with her and play sometime?")
Some things are optional, some completely unnecessary, and some not especially urgent - but at least we've got a jumping off point, hey?

Re: Vote - I love the 'Ask around, I'm just poking my nose into everyone's business' - it's a little flippant and a little humorously self-depreciating, perhaps Kyouko will appreciate someone who isn't afraid to throw a little cheek back her way?

That said, I'd also like to seriously address her question with something along the lines of:
"Yes and no. She didn't put me up to it - in fact she would probably have a fit if she knew I was here with you - but I'm here to hopefully help her. See, she's been having a bad time of things recently - certain truths of the Magical Girl system that she didn't know were revealed to her and she didn't take them particularly well.
"You may have some suspicions as to which truths specifically, considering the state in which I found you when we first met (de-limbed and being chewed on - yet still survived), and I'm sure you can guess how she feels now that she knows precisely what she was acting as glorified recruiter for.
"Basically, I was hoping that re-establishing some kind of friendly contact with an estranged former friend would go some way to cheering her up and help her pick herself up again after the betrayal of the white rat that she thought was her only remaining friend."

Bah, way too many words, too much micromanaging word choice and moving way too fast, but that's the general gist of the message I want to get across to her.

Will vote later once I've got a better idea of what we want to accomplish in this meeting and how. (I.e. once the posting picks up during the middle of the night - and on that note, where the hell is everyone? 3 hours and only one page? What, you all asleep right now or something? :p)

Welcome aboard! Here is your complementary fuzzy plush limpet, homura hairflip calendar and cup of microwaved tea.

You grumble to yourself, and throw yourself skyward again. Time to go meet a certain redhead, and probably not possesses her by means of a diary. Hm, then again, you do technically have a phylactery of sorts that coooouuuld possibly stand in.

... That's probably a bad idea, though.

But we've been meaning to science that. That's been on the science list for, like, forever.

it certainly isn't that 85% of our reasons for socializing with her are Walpurgisnacht.

Er, you misread it, WN was the first of the list given with "the other six are". Read it like this:

"Again? No, she did not. However, she is one of the seven reasons I am doing this.
And other six are:
  • a dangerous witch called Walpurgisnatch,
  • an expected future threat from other cities.
    Then people:
  • someone you haven't met,
  • Yuma,
  • the people who die in your territory.
  • And finally, you too."

Definitely a bit awkwardly worded though.

Key things here:

1) Don't imply (at all) that we're befriending Kyouko so that we can get her help with Walpurgisnacht. That'll just reinforce her pessimistic world views (ones that she might be starting to challenge), and it's not even true anyway.

(Between Homura, Sabrina, Kirika, and Mami, we could probably gank the fuck out of WPN before it even has a chance to fight back--which would make sense, as it'd be exploiting several of WPN's relative weaknesses while avoiding its massive strengths. If Homura had to deal with a horrible match-up all those loops, WPN can deal with a horrible match-up this one.)

2) Update her on the general situation--Oriko and Kirika, the war we nipped in the bud, and the general status of the factions involved.

3) Genuinely befriend her. She's not automatically hyper-suspicious of everything Sabrina does or says this time, so we can actually interact with her without walking in a social minefield.
A) We did come here entirely on our own volition, both this time and before. While Mami certainly misses her friend, we didn't come here for Mami, we came her for Kyouko and Yuma because we genuinely care about their well-being and our powers let us freely afford to help.
B) We should explicitly praise what she's done and doing for Yuma--it's a lot of responsibility and work to take on for oneself while asking for nothing in return, but it makes all the difference in the world for the other person. Also, Yuma is adorable.

4) We do not want to come across as particularly calculating or manipulative. Saying we have seven exact reasons for seeing her would kind of give that impression, and it would be kind of contrary to the stated reasons we had for visiting her the first time.

True. I've been kinda fumbling my wording rolls in PMAS, you're not the only to note that.

Hm, yeah, that is not a bad idea and not a bad segue for bringing up Nagisa.

When speaking to Mami, yes, but I think Kyoko would at least like if we were honest in more than just the minimum amount.

Especially if we're bringing up bunnycat conveniently not telling things. Would kinda paint us in better light, there.

Anyway, regarding WPN I guess I'll have to recheck the scene where she and Homura talk on it since several of you are saying that Kyoko would take it badly, but I don't recall her taking it that badly and it is true that some have been espousing desire to get every meguca to fight against her.

Dullahans don't take terribly well to basketball, I guess. She prefers strawberry jam over slam jam? Clocking in at about 5'2" probably doesn't exactly help with basketball much. (Of course, watch me say that and it turn out that she's the tallest in her class.)

Granted, height doesn't alone help with basketball (I'm over 6 feet and I'm absolute rubbish at it), but still.

...it's more the bouncing and jumping around I think that would bother her.

You know, since she said she wouldn't chase us off, this might be the best time to come directly out and say that we would like it if they made up. Just make sure to tell her that Mami didn't put us up to it, and in fact didn't even know we were here last time. Add on that its just a preferred result and our powers are still available free of charge no matter what.

Things are going smoothly and i can't think anything useful to share. So have random picture.

Here's how I would phrase the first line:
[] Mami has a minor freakout if I so much as mention you, Kyouko. I told her I'd be here, but sticking my nose in other people's business is completely my idea.
-[] I would love to talk about Mami without you biting my head off, but I'm not going to push my luck.

I'd put italics for telepathy, but formatting blocks of text isn't possible on my phone.

Oh. Yeah, I read all that stuff as explaining what Walpurgisnacht is and what'll happen when it shows up. 15% is still bad, though.

To be clear, it's not like she'll be terrified of the witch or anything. It's just that saying we're being nice to her because of Walpurgisnacht boils down to us wanting to use her as cannon fodder. There's not really another way to interpret that. She was fine with Homura doing it because it was a simple transaction. What you're proposing is more fucked up than that.

Yeah, but she should be able to consistently make three point shots from the other side of the court.
...it's more the bouncing and jumping around I think that would bother her.
Hmm...

Now that grief conservation isn't a problem, she should be able to use her ribbons for extra support...

She does know we're here.

I like the first part.

Do you mean "febrile tendrils" I mean it technicly works, is a synonym for "feverish tendrils" but sounds really weird.

Thanks for the welcome everyone.

So I think that

This is a bad idea. It's like the second or third time we met Kyoko, right? Let's not make her more suspicious of us. Figure out how to build a relationship with Kyoko first, then try to get her to patch things up with Mami.

Makes sense.
"Oriko, aren't you able to control your visions at all?" you ask.

"Somewhat," Oriko says, a faint grimace on her face. "Not completely."

"I help!" Kirika chirps. "Sometimes by-" She breaks off mid sentence, a small blush forming on her face.

, and probably not possesses her by means of a diary.
Possess?
To be honest, you're not entirely sure, if you're being perfectly honest with yourself.
You coast in for a gentle landing on a convenient landing
Repeated words.
You hop off the vent and pivot on a foot
One foot? Somehow, this doesn't read right to me.
