I, uh, don't get the joke....

Pinwheel is a boss in Dark Souls, and a secondary character in my quest Red Soul. He's a necromancer leeching power from the God of the Dead for an unknown ritual (it is implied that he is also three people merged into one body, either accidentally or intentionally), and his theme includes many voices whispering "I'm so sorry" over and over again.

Hmmm...

Soul of Sabrina, Lady of Grief, an anomaly who once sought to change the decrees of fate.

Where Sabrina came from, none can say, save perhaps the hated white rats. Her arrival to this land heralded the return of hope for a time. But, inevitably, her strange power and knowledge could not avail her in her quest, and she was consumed by the Grief she arrogantly sought to control.

Use the special soul of this anomaly to acquire numerous souls, or to create something of great worth.

Quite a bit, really. I'll work on how to abuse it if we do manage it, but for now I'll leave it at this:

We can do a proper Ramiel cosplay.
No seriously. I fundamentally don't understand what it would even mean to be able to move in four dimensions. I have no frame of reference, it's like trying to imagine new colours or emotions. I'm not entirely convinced anyone else does either. I get the feeling that would get in the way of writing, using and understanding such an ability.

:p
Soul of Mami, Lady of Ribbons, constant companion and more to Sabrina.

Her loneliness bound her to Sabrina, and as she was consumed by grief, so too, was Mami. She never wanted to be alone again, even if she was not herself. You can feel the longing for companionship from this tortured soul.

Use the special soul of this powerful magus to acquire numerous souls, or to create something of great worth.

Couldn't resist.

Random thoughts.
If the canon story is dark than mostly the fanfiction is usually lighter, and vice versa.
We have gain omake from homura perspective, perhaps later on we can see omake from mami perspective whenever we comfort her

Not Candelero? :p

Wouldn't having our own pocket dimension be more suited to doing a proper Leliel cosplay?

We could do Ramiel right now. We'd just have to kidnap recruit Sasami.

Guys, what about creating our own barrier and familiars on our SCIENCE list? You know, to further cement that we are totally probably not a witch?

EDIT: Joke aside, this is an actual serious suggestion for the "science list".

Ah, that's a much different problem. Thank you for clarifying. Let's try a few analogies, then...

The most direct is to use geometry. You start out with one line, and an object can be at any point on that line. Then you add a second line, perpendicular to the first. An object's location can be defined by a combination of two values, denoting distance along each of those two lines separately from each other. Objects could now pass each other, where before they'd have a collision, by going to either side of each other.

Add another line, perpendicular to both already existing lines, and give all the objects a third location value. We're now in three dimensions. The range of motion of the objects has been increased significantly, allowing up/down, left/right, and forward/back movement.

Add another line, perpendicular to all three already existing lines, and give all the objects a fourth location value. We're now in four dimensions. The range of motion of the objects has been increased significantly, allowing alpha/beta, up/down, left/right, and forward/back movement. (As English doesn't seem to have a word for movement in four dimensions, I've used alpha/beta for this purpose.)

Moving alpha is no different than moving up. Just as you extend, say, 185cm up, you extend, say, 15cm alpha.

A second analogy is a bit less mathematically based. Suppose you have infinitesimally small points. You stack these points, creating a one-dimensional line. In what direction, who knows? But you have a line. So you start stacking these lines in an entirely different direction, until they extend the same distance as the line did. You have a square, now. Stack these squares an equal distance in a third direction, and you get a cube. Stack the cubes in a fourth direction? Enjoy your hypercube.

Visual analogies are made difficult by our not regularly encountering more than three dimensions at a time, but attempts have been made.

There are two ways to think of the fourth dimension.

The most common, 'real', version is time. We have no control of our movement through this dimension, but every instant in time (ie: what we see in the 'now') is essentially a slice out of the 4-dimensional space-time universe. Some segments of this passage would not appear to have any changes at all, while others might have radical changes.

Alternatively, consider it another dimension of space. If we repurpose a couple of quark descriptions — strange and charm, vs up/down or top/bottom — you can move in the strange direction or in the charm direction. Moving along that dimension will shift what you see in the third dimension, just as walking along the road will shift your perspective of the car or house or whatever that you pass.

From outside, you would appear to be walking in exactly the same spot at all times, but you'd still distort to being closer to or further away from an outside observer. Depending on whether you yourself extend into the fourth dimension, you could also appear to simply wink out of existence as soon as you move in that direction.

Moving in the fourth dimension allows you to bypass any obstacles that would limit a three-dimensional traveler's movement. For example, being in a completely locked room, you could walk along the charm direction until you reach a point where the three-dimensional object doesn't exist, walk past where it would have been, and then return, having escaped the room.

Cheers for the explanation. So we'd be able to griefbend attacks across the 4th dimension, which would look like essentially blades of grief teleporting into existence though an enemy. It would also allow us to hide an armada of grief balls poised to strike in another dimension while looking defenceless.

I mean, we already own everything and everyone in our range. This would just makes it more so.

Edit: I want an excuse to play this situation out:

"We have you surrounded Sabrina, you cannot defeat all of us."

"You are within my range, you've already lost."

"Shi-"

Wings burst forth as Sabrina blurs into the sky, trailed by a constellation of soul gems in shackles of grief. Muted thuds fill the air as the fighters fall; puppets with severed strings.

that Firn omake.
Hnngh.
Secondly...
Perhaps you could try it, just this once.
...this concerns me. Should we fail, then Homura won't take it well at all. It'd very possibly be the breaking point for her to have "hope" and for that hope to fail. Perhaps we could make a diary or log of some sort in the event things don't go as planned; information on anything she doesn't know that we do, how to get along with Sayaka, ideas on how to stop Mami from convincing Blue and Pink to contract, and so on. :V
