Hilariously, that city's new and possibly most frustrating aspect is that none of that has happened yet.

Now we either have to be jerks and let Kazusa die and the rest of them go crazy...er or miss out on all the SCIENCE they'd get done trying to bring Kazusa back.
Or...not panic until the precog tells us there's incoming trouble if we don't act. We have more immediate problems.

There is no need for concern for Asunaro right now, not when we have bigger, more immediate concerns. If we're that worried, ask Oriko every so often.

No. We show up in a dazzle of grief sparkles, and conscript them all for our glorious Meguca Liberation Army.
They can help us with R&D as well as fighting other girls, witches, and Walmmartnight.
Or that. That would be awesome. We just have to convince Hijiri that she's totally people and being made by a Wish is not a reason to be crazy and evil.

Especially when the nutjob got the better deal, being Wished to have a normal life and such.

Oh, the precog we defeated? Which therefore is either A) an imperfect precog, AS SHE CLAIMS, or B) Manipulating us for her own plans and therefore not (completely) on our side.
Sabrina's existence is white noise for her visions. They're otherwise fairly reliable where DOOM is concerned.

The 'Oriko is planning to betray us' shadowruns? What does she get out of letting Asunaro Witch? I don't see her doing that.

I think it's too later for that chief.
Two weeks. Not 'they lost a member', it's the feral murderhobo from their series dropping by Mitakihara rather than Asunaro as expected. Something to look out for, but not PANIC over.

I'm not concerned, I just think the report we got is the least convenient we could have received aside from EVERYRHING IS ON FIRE AAAAAAAH.

Nobody is panicking, Ugo.

She was talking about the Soujo(s) girl(s). Which is interesting 'cuz they're supposed to be dead before they make it to Mitakihara.

Maybe our reputation spreads far enough that she takes an early detour?

True enough. I'm not really worried about Oriko, I'm just making sure that we keep an eye open.

"Sabrina? Are you OK? You spaced out for a minute there."

"Oh, I'm sorry. I was just working out a mathematical formula for the population dynamics of the Eevees and other Pokemon I intend to make with my grief powers, and NO ASUNARO but it will help me make the Eevee WE DON'T GO TO ASUNARO" *starts chewing on own arm*
You know, because of Sabrina's extreme level of intelligence, I have to wonder: in the hypothetical land of gumdrops and happiness we could create at the end of the quest, with Mami happy and healthy, and the whole incubator system gone (since we tracked down their entire race and fed every single one through a meat grinder), would Sabrina get bored? With her pushy and proactive personality, I feel like she'd be a lot like Sherlock Holmes: absolutely useless unless she's on an adventure or solving a big problem. I feel like a cozy, quiet domestic life would get to her and bore her.

We retire to an easy life of SCIENCE and cuddles, obviously.

I doubt we'd run out of dumb things to do with our powers.

Sabrina makes a name for herself in neuroscience, discovering novel cures for the most crippling cases of brain damage. She spends her off-time experimenting with new varieties of reheatable teas for the drinker on the go.

Awww, look at the cute bunnies! Soon they will make Quests that bring about tears, despair and madness too!

"Sabrina?"
"Hmmm?"
"You've been out here for hours. Don't you want to come inside?"
"Just a sec, Mami...almost got it...aha! There! And Homura said it'd never work!"
"Sabrina?"
"Mami, how'd you like to take a trip in the first ever Grief And Relaxation Conveyor in Space? I call it a GARCIS!"
"Sabrina...That looks like a grief box."
"It's bigger on the inside! I'm pretty sure I've gotten the Barrier to work now! I'm almost probably sure it won't collapse and eat everything inside... this time. Still working on the time travel though. Homura didn't want to help..."
"..."
"Do you like it?"
"It's very...you."

:p

The precog isn't going to say anything unless it's relevant to Mitakihara.

Also, ugh. Firn's already said events in Asunaro aren't going to follow the manga. I think Gadjo already said it. Just because the manga was terrible doesn't mean Firn's Asunaro will be terrible. The reflex aversion by association is... eh.

I'd prefer to treat it just like any other city. Like Sendai and Ishinomaki.

Even for any other city, we have no reason to believe things are bad there- and we've been explicitly asking about it. Oriko isn't going to leave information out when we ask directly just because it's not about Mitakihara.

Agreed. Still, according to the precog, we've got at least some time before shit starts to go down, so we can take a few days to work on our home turf, and prep our team for the excursion.

Try a week, unless Oriko's predictions change drastically. We have no good reason to rush to the city of potential FUN. I'd really rather make progress on helping Mami first as her tagging along there may be...unfortunate.

Two weeks is twice our current lifespan, people. We've got plenty of time to plan, is what I'm saying.

Maybe with a caveat that we'd really rather Have Words with them. And that requires them to go un-murderfaced if at all possible.
Can we convince them that we can make some prettier things other than Soul Gems to keep them from going murderhobo everywhere they go?

Sabrina: This is a Grief Gem! It's pretty, simple and doesn't turn into a Witch! It can also give infinite cleanses!
