I really don't see why visiting Kyoko is important at this present time beyond updating her on current events... by telepathy. Especially when it means changing our perfectly good plan for today.

Shouldn't we also check in with Oriko?
Even if Homura shot down our attempt at getting her released, we could at least drop by for a cup of microwaved tea and refresh the grief seed we left her with. We made her use her power quite a bit after all.
True. How do we want to work it in relative to the desire to visit with Kyouko?
I, personally, agree with this statement. I really don't want to deal with them today if I can help it, unless they ping us of their own accord for whatever reason.
Actually, it was almost solely to be able to ask the question about the meeting arrangement date, and just being polite otherwise, but actually we can ask Ishinomaki as well, so I'll adjust it to that side.

The Oriko alternative vote:

[x] Give Homura another hug before parting.
[x] Examine a soul gem, a normal grief seed, and a broken grief seed in detail with all senses. Catalog the parts; grief, magic, whatever else you can figure out, any unknowns. What are the differences and similarities?
[x] Experiment with modifying your hammer. Pay attention to how it was created, and to what extent can it be modified.
[x] Contact Masami/Hiroko: Polite check in. Tell them that things have settled down, and the suggested handling of grief seeds.
[x] Contact Ishinomaki: Polite check in. Summarize situation, and make note of the grief seed cleansing plan.
[x] Go visit Oriko
-[x] Cleanses and healing. We can't let her out of house arrest just yet, but we can at least heal her.
--[x] Try willing grief into a rod of healing to help speed up the process. Consult with Oriko to check if she sees any negative effects of us doing so.
-[x] Thank her for her help yesterday. Mention Kirika's awesomeness.
-[x] Apologize for threatening Kirika while you are at it.
-[x] Ask for anything noteworthy in her visions.
-[x] Consult with her on how best to approach Kyouko.

Well, we can do that after Kasamino, maybe?

Would you mind clarifying this bit? I don't recall any such plans being discussed, unless you are talking about the Kyouko tea party plan, in which case now is nowhere close to the time.
There have been lots of talks about a tea party or zoo trip or something for this evening. I left it vague because I'm not sure exactly what it might end up being.

Edited out the Sendai contact, and moved the question to Ishinomaki.

Maybe figure that whatever meeting we arrange with Kyouko probably won't happen immediately, and plan on visiting Oriko after speaking with Kyouko?

Edit: Actually, I like Gerbil's. Absconding with the Oriko portion of it.

If we're gonna experiment with the hammer, we could check and see if it vanishes outside our 100m range. If it doesn't, we can use them for ammo in case we need to hit something outside out range and there's no convenient pieces of sturdy debris sitting around.

@Cannongerbil

I'd like to attempt the healing scepter trick with Oriko. Show it to her and have her precog in case of any unintentional effects?

...Not entirely happy with it, but fuck it, we've already done a phaser, and we've got Oriko there to head us of if we are going to create a grief mutant or something. What could possibly go wrong?

I added this to mine:

-[] Would like to try an experimental healing trick, if she'll help us make sure it's safe.
--[] Try to create the magic healing item.
--[] If it doesn't work, do what healing you can normally.

Decided to avoid being specific about the exact item we want to create.

You smile to yourself. Mundane forces work perfectly well, then. Next up, magic! You feel a grin split your face. Gravity and magnetism and such are neat, but magic.

At a thought and a flex of your will, the Grief sphere turns invisible. You can still sense it perfectly well, though, and to your considerable annoyance - it shows up with a Witch signature, too.

That's not helpful. You growl under your breath. Can you make it not feel like Witch-stuff, then?

The answer, it turns out, is no, or at least not by your Grief powers, you find.

Then again.

If you could, it'd... strongly imply that somewhere out there, there could very well be a Witch stalking about that's completely invisible to both you and other puella magi.

So you'll return to mundane things for now.

Ring of Magnetism/Gravity yes, Ring of Non-Witchy Grief no. If we want to try a fool's errand, it...won't blow up in our faces, I guess?

Maybe there's effects we can make a others we can not and which ones are which is arbitrary? Witches don't really get to choose their own barriers, after all.

Yeah, the big issue with what we're trying is that I suspect the Witches are still using their Puella Magi's specialized magic for their personalized magic. What's a bit annoying and a separate problem is that we can't replicate the reality marble/barrier effect that's universal for Witches yet.

Space extension. You try to exert your will, forcing it upon the space inside the tube. It doesn't seem to work, though, just as the permanence didn't. The tube remains obdurately normal. As normal as something made out of Grief can be, anyway.

Either it isn't possible, or we're looking at it the wrong way. Maybe we need to try using more Grief as a starting point?

My take from that section is that the witchy feel is a fundamental property of grief.
The way it was listed was as "Sabrina tries experimenting with magical properties, turns up nothing." The fundamental feel's also true, but...

I'd say try to use a tube full of grief, instead of a hollow tube of grief, but that would not work since Sabrina's recognized the air that's in a barrier as normal air, not witchy stuff.

We really should go poke a Barrier before trying to make our own.

[X] Cannongerbil
And I think we should be trying the healing object idea. Worst-case scenario, we look a bit silly. Best-case, a massive tactical advantage and a new avenue for possible abilities.

I wonder if it's possible to "evict" a Witch from a Barrier. Isolate it down to the minimum level of Grief for it not to turn into a Seed and vaccum all the grief up, pick up the griefblob and move it OUT of the barrier.

Uhhhh. Didn't we pretty much confirm that the "magic item" route is a bust for now?
Dude, we managed to create a magical disintegration beam out of grief. We can most likely also create a healing rod out of grief using the same principle, that part isn't really in question. What I'm worried about is using grief to simulate healing magic, which could cause some undesirable side-effects on the part of those being healed, but since Oriko is there, I see no harm in at least trying.
