Couldn't just do it inside of some other Witch's Barrier if we're not sure how to make our own yet? We haven't actually taken the time to examine one so we can get an idea of how they work. That's a thing we should do.
We could, yeah. We tried to do that while fighting the ink witch, but then Mami and Homura slaughtered it before we could get anything interesting done. If we really want to investigate creating a barrier of our own, we can use an existing witch to kick start our research. It's just that right now, Hildegarde's seed takes priority.

At some point, we could rehatch Hildegarde to see how she's doing. Bad idea?

Would be nice to see a Barrier while it's being created.

I really like this quest. It's one of those works that really captures the essence of the series, while still being so uniquely flavorful that I find myself caught up in the flow. The interactions between the characters are believable and dynamic and just so fun to read. The tone of hope is strong with this one, and the taste is sweet and glorious and filled with might.

Mmm~ I am also working on a Dedledore image. It involves a large eye for a face.

Err, lets try doing that with some other witch first. Don't want to mess with Hildgarde's seed too much without knowing for certain what we are doing.

Yeah, I'd advocate actually getting an in depth analysis on a witch barrier, the next one we run into. I'd analyze it from the outside, while we're passing through one and then from the inside. There are definitely uses out of making our own witch barrier.

...Are those still WIP?

Regarding the latest work of Art, The Warhammer in the last picture looks like a Squeegee or a Mop.

What do you have against poor Amy?
Nothing. It would be hilarious, though. In a really, really dark way.
No, we like cats.

...Bunnycat, maybe?

WE ARE GOING TO USE OUR POWERS FOR GOOD. WE ARE NOT GOING TO BE A MAGICAL GIRL SHOW VILLAIN.
If we are playing mad scientist, we may as well go all the way and start experimenting on fluffy, innocent animals. More seriously, if we want to see how grief interacts with living beings, we will need test subjects, there's no way around it. Though it will probably just do nothing or simply kill them. I'm just wondering idly, I don't seriously expect anyone to vote for it.

Aside from that, I don't really have anything new to add for the moment, sadly. I really want to learn how to make our own labirynth and familiars, but it has the same problem as saving the witches - we don't even know how to begin doing that. We can only try everything we can think of and see what sticks.

I love how Amy is basically the luckiest housecat in all possible universes, since one of the first things Homura does in any universe is save her so that Madoka isn't implored to.

And in Madoverse, one could extrapolate that Homura made the save Amy-wish before fusing with Time Traveler Homu.

And Homuverse is just a barrier-overlay on Madoverse.

So basically in all universes, Amy lives.

[x] Cleanse soul gem
[x] Wear a ring of grief on your pinkie finger.
[x] Converting grief into witch barrier properties like fire.
[x] Careful examination. Inspect and compare all three grief seeds in your possession.
-[x] Carefully refill Aurora to an 'unused' state. Pay EXTREME attention to how the grief seed is compressing grief. This is an effect you'll want to duplicate.
-[x] Empty Aurora to half capacity. Have it make contact with Mami's seed. If nothing happens, empty Aurora to one quarter. Make contact again. Check for any kind of transfer between the two seeds.
[x] Practice with enchantment magic on a pebble or something, at least until we aren't causing things to break while doing so.
-[x] If we manage to reach that point, carefully start feeding magic into Hildegarde's seed

[x] Cleanse soul gem
[x] Wear a ring of grief on your pinkie finger.
[x] Check nearby warehouse office for stuff we can use for keeping track of and measuring stuff: notebooks, pens, rulers, mail scale, post-its, etc.
[x] Ensure Hildegarde is completely empty of grief.
[x] Determine name of the Control Seed, if feasible without changing it.
[x] Careful examination. Inspect and compare all three grief seeds in your possession with both grief and magical senses.
[x] Weigh the empty Aurora seed.
[x] Carefully refill Aurora to an 'unused' state (nominal capacity). Pay EXTREME attention to how the grief seed is compressing grief. This is an effect you'll want to duplicate.
[x] Re-check its weight.
[x] Test Aurora by making contact with the other grief seeds, first with the Control Seed, then with Hildegarde.
-[x] Examine the reaction. If any grief is transferred, see if that changes the weight of any of the seeds.
-[x] Reset grief levels after each attempt, if anything changes.
-[x] Repeat at one-half nominal capacity, and one-quarter nominal capacity.

@AuraTwilight: If you're fine with Kinematic's vote, might as well vote for it :p

Currently, we're standing to spend rest of the time after seeds+Fire learning enchantment, so no Stage 2 or 3 or 4 things.
