Counterpoint: The hilarity of fixing and resolving all of Kazumi Magica before Mami even gets out of class is pretty much the best bragging point this quest could ever have.

Although, she'd probably freak right the fuck out at all the crazy we went off to deal with.

We did kind of promise to be less reckless and not scare our oujo.

I don't think that's happening.
It would be really funny if it did though.

I think whatever hilarity might be taken from resolving or getting owned by Kazumi Magica, it's countered by the irony that the clusterfuck that is Kazumi Magica is our best chance at resolving our own problems.

I think we might be able to garner Homura support for Asunaro, if we reveal the full extent of what we hope to find out (reviving witches, creating new bodies for destroyed ones, replacing the incubators, etc).

We'd pretty much need the whole gang together and fully informed to intelligently risk going into Asunaro. That means all players (that includes Mami; we really do need her combat expertise) would need to be witchbombed and perhaps even metabombed in order to have a good chance of getting out of there with our SAN score intact.

Are you making a serious suggestion, or is this another one of your attempts at humour?
Aw.

Well, mostly that...

But more seriously, Mami will not hear about Asunaro, not before we witch bomb her. (obviously)

Which we prefer to not do until we've figured out whether we can revive the fallen.

For which visiting that place is all kinds of useful. Thus, we have to visit it without Mami finding out. Homura also has school at this time, but timestop.

Re: overconfidence: Their villains are hilariously ineffectual against Sabrina ("I'll use more witches!"). The mind-trick one is the one I'm most worried about, really, but reading Sabrina's mind is a blade with no handle.

Getting their cooperation and information, especially from ones like Jyuubey's creator, is rather tricky though. Asunaro being Asunaro, they might fully well decide that our cooperation is an excellent thing but that they love Kazumi so much they'll ensure our cooperation by mindwarp.

It's not the mind reader that is the problem. It's the bloody amnesia barrier that one girl erected around the city. I mean Sabrina's head is already screwed up, no need to make it worse.

Reading Sabrina's mind probably wouldn't be quite that damaging. Granted, she likely has knowledge of how you will fail and die some day, but she wouldn't be the eldritch abomination many joke about her being. Her fractured thought processes (due to the thread representing her subconscious) are really more indicative of absent-mindedness than anything else. Also, we have no way of determining if the amnesia barrier is up before we enter, and fuck that.

Wasn't that the mind reader?
...Did you miss how they have an insane power copier on their side? Along with the general insanity and piss poor quality of the work making everyone else look insane?
I think that was a feature, not a bug.

The power copier is not an open issue until late in the game. Besides, sanity is underrated.

"Bad writing and inconsistent characterization is a good thing."

Have you actually read the god damned manga?
Yes I have! This tread inspired me to read it, actually, even before the original series. You were large part in it, did you miss my reaction?

Though, sorry, I thought you meant the quality of the girls' work making everyone insane.

That sounds like a problem for Time Stop.

I know Firn's going to change things, but the Assault On Asunaro is one of the few situations where we start with amazing intelligence and can genuinely plot out how to deal with most of the issues beforehand. That suits the thread's style perfectly.

Ugh, I'm going to have to read this series, aren't I?

There's always the wiki. Or some other place where you could get the summary. Wasn't there a post summarizing what happened there in this thread already?

Is there any explanation on how that works exactly, because the fact that we are Sabrina and we're discussing it right now kind of makes it ineffective against us in any term longer than one update.
If you are seriously considering this, I really don't think we should go until we've aided Mami's psychological recovery to a point where she's both witchbombed and at least somewhat stable. Going in there alone or without a good amount of backup would be suicidally overconfident.

But our intelligence will be incomplete. Word of GM was "canon-ish" and something about it not necessarily being the same time period. Things will most likely differ in significant ways from the intel we can gather.

Would you kindly go read the series so you'll understand exactly what you are advocating when you bring up the idea of heading to Asunaro?

Because, really, I'm not kidding when I say that KM is on the level of a poorly written fanfiction. If you want to advocate bringing that mess into PMAS, at least have the decency to know what exactly you are doing.

@Gadjo:
#1 reason for magical girls to turn evil in Kazumi. I'm expecting them to go "No, that cannot be!" on that, or possibly witch out.

Also, I presume you'll want to witchbomb Mami with "meguca dies when witch is born" then?
