No

We have oodles of other projects to take care of.

Get in line
We get some descriptions of the Games; looks like the boat racing people wanted is either not an eventor isn't one of the first thought of events?
I think it has more to do with the fact that we have really weird boats compared to our neighbors, so it is really difficult to really do boating competions.

Also boats are super expensive and nobody can afford pure racing boats?
See, I knew misunderstandings were going to happen here. If I had said 2-3, I could very easily see people contesting it with the fact that we did not have it this turn, so that is obviously not true. Instead I tried to imply the next couple of turns had Causi Belli.

But it happened anyway :/
The games should be sacred, free of the wars of men. Instead, we make it quite clear that these are just a tool of the kings to snub who they like.

Fffffuck. Really wish I was better at convincing people.
Everything is a political tool. Nothing is sacred
I am a teasing bitchfaced mofo and you can't stop me!!!!

But since you asked:

I unabashedly steal from Umi-san and post this!

But... but...

Sacred porn!

[everyone looks at the vampire]

Okay fiiiiine!

I'd like a corps of engineers. I think to get it fully fledged we will need to evolve SAPl again, but these actions you suggest are probably a good way.

I'd like a training cadre for sure and road engineers definitely.
Hmm, do you think Retraining and More Boats could get us a navy?

I'm leaning towards no currently...

Seriously, think about the implications. We can now evolve our military in ways that are not 'kill things better.'

In an attempt to continue this vein, does anyone have ideas on how to pursue something like this? Or would we have to simply rely on random narrative chance? Because, personally, I think the People are perfectly suited for this sort of thing.

People, vote is called.

In the interest of a swift update and the thread not being locked down, again, let's discuss something else besides the HK, especially since, again, this vote is already called.

@Academia Nut I have a few questions.

How many gods do the Ymaryn currently have? 1000? 100? 42?

What is the current mythological cycle like for the Ymaryn? I mean in the essence of Greek, and Egyptian cycle where the divines switched rulers a couple times.

How is Crow seen among the populace now?

Who is seen as the leader of the gods nowadays?

What are some brief summaries of current favourite stories about the gods? How closely do they resemble the brother's grimm original children tales?

I am thinking about writing an uplift quest for the Ymaryn.

There are possible options and variants:

1) Portal fantasy.
2) Reincarnation. Not typical "SI" but in which memories slowly get unlocked.
3) Spirited away to cohabitate with someone's body, probably one of the war hero of the Hill War.

Female or male? Female seems to me more interesting than male because you'll have to work harder against the patriarchy?

As far as knowledge goes, I am leaning toward a reasonable college education level in a subject matter, or a high school level education if we're going with a teenager. Definitely no superman with supermemories. Everything had to be figured out the hard way.
I vote that Tanya would be a good pick.

Like Yenyna but not actually damaged or a psycho (usually it's just act or magic combat drugs, either or) in the video the plan was to push the recruits into quiting but it back fired because they were too scared of what she would do to them if they did.

(Tanya is also originally a guy but reincarnated as a girl)

Especially given that the Xoh campaign has shown we already carry cadres of engineers around during large-scale warfare. We just need to change them from being an attachment to being the army itself!

Ehhhhhhhh...

Raise Army plus More Boats?

*scratches head*

I got nuthin.
It might be the sort of thing locked behind The Grand Docks.

We'd need something like that to make this work, after all.

At the moment combining Retraining with other things is likely our best bet. We just need to make a list of things that would work with, and possible interactions.

Oh, right. "Safety of the people". This is self-serving nonsense. The HK are not an existential threat to us. They are at best an annoyance. An annoyance we now have the chance to end, of course, but I am very annoyed by these self-serving arguments trying to claim a non-existent moral high ground. This general Manifest Destiny attitude this thread has acquired, that the Ymarrin are the future saviours of fictional mankind and hence everything good for the Ymarrin is automatically ethically good, that is just sickening.
Are you stating that the HK have not militarily strained us, to the point of defeat, at inopportune times?

Are you stating that if we didn't get invaded during the war with Xohyr, we might not have had to raze the city?

Did we not almost enter a Stability death spiral (via Divine Stewards) during the Khemetri Invasion?

Self-serving nonsense? I think even the most feverent warmonger acknowledges that war actions are highly unprofitable compared to our other actions, even without the nightmare of administrative breakdown.

I... what? Dude I'm not talking about last update, I'm talking about everything the HK have done.

We were told straight to our face by AN himself that the reason the HK are so advanced in their iron working despite having studied it very little is because the HK kidnapped an artisan (or artisans, we don't know how many) under the cover of the artisan riots from several updates ago and that the HK were doing several other operations at the time as well but he didn't tell us what they were.
I've just searched the thread and I can't find any reference to that. His most recent post was this:
Highlanders also used their Heroic Intrigue king to steal it directly (fun fact, that was actually an opportunistic accident to something else they were doing).

Cute how you use rhetoric tricks to stretch two incidents to three questions. And concerning those two incidents, the HK were always defeated within the turn, hell in the Reshmin's War within not even a half-turn. An existential crisis they are not. Just that annoying aggressive little dog that sometimes get loose from his leash.

*Sees HK argument continuing.*

That argument is over. Please stop. Everyone.

Let us not speak of Them right now.

Trails seems like a strong bet then. My only concern is that we need higher tier road tech before we could trigger something like this. Certainly worth a try after our next war though if we have excess Martial kicking around.

Artisan Competitions seems likely to give us a tech or innovation drip/boost, so i'd consider it fairly high priority... of course, that also depends on what our admin hero does...but if we're still on megaproject support, and want to continue megaprojects, then i personally would put Artisan Competitions pretty high up there; Great Forge (orwhatever it ends up called) would be first, but we probably wont have the forest slots by the time Hertythn dies.

The quote i was referring to was for the internal Games, not the International games, so the "other civs have different boats" wouldn't apply...though yeah, your other point makes sense

...Well i'm still potentially misunderstanding. Which of the following is your understanding of things?
-Turn 1 (This Turn): truce
-Turn 2 (Next Turn): CB, Hero
-Turn 3: Maybe CB, Maybe Hero
-Turn 4: No CB

-Turn 1 (This Turn): truce
-Turn 2 (Next Turn): CB, Hero
-Turn 3: CB, Maybe Hero
-Turn 4: Maybe CB
-Turn 5: No CB

Because it sounded like you were saying the first, and so does the post i'm responding to now. Whereas my understanding is the second.

*SpockEyebrow*

Wouldn't sacred porn be like the worst thing ever for a vampire? They can't even look at holy stuff without immense physical pain. And if it became as generalized as crosses, they might never be able to have porn again!
Well... um...

It depends on the variety of vampire. I mean...

Have you seen the outfits vampires wear these days?

There have been multiple requests that that topic be dropped. Now that it's down to two of you with rather personal issues with what the other one is saying, I think it's time you two take it to PM. You'll probably reach mutual understanding more quickly that way, and it reduces the thread salt count.

I didn't even mention the theft of Iron.

Who cares if they realized they overplayed their hand within half a turn? If we rolled more poorly it would have been GG no RE. That's pretty much the definition of having pushed us to the brink - we would have entered a stability/Divine Stewards spiral via the Khemetri, even after stopping the TH and HK.

EDIT: @pblur apologies if I missed the drop request, was replying to susano, then interrupted and had to make a post in the appeals forum, then I got back here and hit post to my original reply to susano
