Thankfully, we won't eat stab hits for losing them, since we lost center of trade.
Unfortunately being unable to pay mercenary companies if they fold would be very very unpleasant....but we really do have enough secured that we can upkeep 3 safely now(safe in the sense that we'd have about 8-10 turns to respond if something cocks up)
Oh! I just remembered something, that i forgot to reply to cause i quoted it on my phone while catching up to the thread this morning, and it didn't carry over to my comp session.
@veekie during your analysis for last turn, you mentioned how Religious Authority 4 stopped being a gold number, and wasn't italicized either, and so we likely gained 2 RA tolerance, which you suggested was from the Joyous Symphony upgrade. I think it might have actually been the climate issue ending, since we're pretty sure some of the "mysterious" RA gains we had were from the climate crisis, since people turn to the priests in times of (naturally sourced) crisis. So i think its likely that the crisis also lowered our RA tolerance, because that same phenomenon would make it mroe likely for people to turn to the priests so much as to cause an issue iwth the secular gov. Likewise, its possible that the italics came from being in a crisis, since we don't actually know what that means. So i think being in a natural-event crisis either gives -1 RA tolerance and introduces whatever the italics means, or it gives -2 RA tolerance and italics just comes before gold for RA.
Possible theory, but I think, not reflected strongly by our neighbors.

Admittedly two neighbors were a theocracy and one was vassal to a theocracy, while the rest don't have Temples yet, so results may be skewed, but it'd also mean that anyone who was just below the gold would be driven 1 point past red when the tolerance drops and the event feeds them RA.

I literally explained it right below the vote. We lose one secondary action (Trails from main to secondary) and in exchange the provinces gain two secondary actions to spend as they will in anything that doesn't cost econ.
As long as you recognize that it means them taking Expand Econ and wasting Symphony bonus, yeah sure.
I wonder what happens if we hit Prestige 50?
AN had suggested some potential problems with super high prestige.
We're about to find out?
Boats or docks have a better chance? I can go either way.
Docks currently.

The problem is that we are in a time of peace, but we have a bunch of board warriors hanging around. We need to give them something to do or they cause problems. A mercenary company is a great way to keep them flexible and gives them a way to pay for themselves.

The Games megaproject could solve that in the long term. It could possibly go a long way to integrating the stallions post tax crisis.

I'm thinking that super high prestige might start to actively draw Nomad Hordes to us, since they would know of us as "that super famous place that would make us famous if we beat them up."

Naw, that was specifically referenced back when the Xohyssiri were King of the Hill, there are more problems than that.

King of the Hill is simply a source of even MORE Prestige really when they come to take the crown if they don't have enough kick to back it up
I don't think the Xohyssiri were ever king of the hill. The Thunder Horse were for the longest time, and while the Xoh ended up leading a personal union with them, that doesn't automatically make them more prestigious, i dont think...

Okay.
Upside: no war with peer power on their home field.
Downside: they are claiming lands in our direction, which most likely will give them other source of tin and copper, this time the one we cannot disrupt, because so far not!Anatolia was filthy rich.
Downside 2: With no danger of war, nobody will think about supporting the trade post or building boats.

Also, it takes currently takes us all of one turn to build 2x salterns and get +1 wealth income. Or really, one turn on the Infrastructure policy.

By the way. Once we aren't building megaprojects, can we switch to Infrastructure policy sometime in the near future? It gets us all sorts of awesome goodies.

I can just imagine the panic in this thread if our prestige stat turns yellow.

At times like this, I wish that SV had a "horror" rating.

...Have you checked the discussion? We have a special on Boats right now. AN has already said that our peripheries will be boat building actions and we are trying to push Build Docks to grab another innovation roll on top of that.

It is the second winning plan and 40 votes still to go.

I never like, read any of the classical epic for my life(except excerpt in public school), so I thought I should remedy my poor education.

So, the Illaid opens up with bickering between the Greeks about one of the woman they stolen from the opposing side and I thought to myself: What a bunch of assholes.

Which makes me wonder what our homeric epic would do in so far as in mes res, and what it will be about.

This was mentioned in the discussion before but for the life of me I can't find it in the update. Which doesn't mean it isn't there; probably I'm just too blind. I am the guy who completely missed an update during a discussion before, after all :p So could you please quote the appropriate passage from the update for me?

Probably open with bickering between the Ymaryn about one of the trees they planted from another province and every other nation thought to themselves: What a bunch of hippies

It's right under our extended projects in the Important projects tab.

Special: Boat innovation is currently boosted

@Academia Nut how many people live in Trelli anyway? Because given that they aren't a true city you'd think it would only be in the low tens of thousands at most which kind of puts a cap on how far they can expand.

Already happening thanks to Cosmopolitan Acceptance. Our solution so far is to clear the local steppes. Either be friends or be dust. See the Hawks running diplomatic missions to the Nomads.

Possible, but the reference was to the union being as a group King of the Hill.

I'm more inclined to convert our baby boom into a Defense policy. We've been warned that the Nomads are transitioning to Hard Mode.

I'd prefer to have the defenses up before that.

Tax fraud?

According to AN they're one now.

Okay, not nobody, ~17 people did. :V

Anyways. With Baby Boom, GA would be actively detrimental.
And the SPECIAL is wonderful.
So I stand by my previous intentions and am going to screw Trelli by taking over their whole thing:

[X][Main] More Boats
[X][Main] More Boats s x2
[X][Secondary] More Boats
[X][Secondary] More Boats x2
[X] [Main] Build Docks
[X] [Main] Build Docks x2

YMARYN RULE THE WAVES

As long as we do not run out of forest slots this way at least.
