Carbon Flour likely refers to the production of Forged Iron, ie IRL!steel, as opposed to Steel.
Would it really be against the law to tell us how Forged Iron is made? The fact is we'd need to get Bog Iron from them anyways and the Carbon Flour would run out eventually so it's not like we would make super bank off of it if that was the case.

Isn't Bog Iron available from human sources too?
And if carbon flour is just carbon dust, we could make our own.
And I think the dwarves learned their lesson about sharing any secret with humans.

Yes. The Dwarves have a monopoly on Forged Iron and want to maintain it. I'm sure it would be very against Dwarven Law to allow humans to learn how to make it.

And Bog Iron is readily available from lots of places, not just the Dwarves.

Me and Deadman have thrown this together for the runes on the second attempt for a 2x dice for Standstill, but aren't quite happy with it. Anyone else got some ideas for it? Its currently a chain we tie the person up in and then they try and escape.
"My links tighten granting stillness, may those who feel my grasp understand that stillness and through understanding be freed."

Isn't it canon that simpler runes are better? Or am I reading too far into the Crowfeeder reveal?

"Those caught in my links Stand Still."

Ofteb when making training items we want something thats opposed to what we are training, making it harder to use the Hugareida and thus making training more effective. So what about a Standstill training item thats based on something falling or something with strong Inertia? For example, a weight we need to stop from falling.

Another idea, can we make a wand with runes and stuff that is useful to channel our ranged attacks and amplify them in some ways?

That was the intent with the sphere...I'm not sure how to do that version that's super different from that one.

Plausibly yes, but it's probably not worth it in combat given the uses of having a weapon available. We likely still want one, but it's not a super high priority.

RIght now it might not be super worth it but if we improve with armory pockets and can switch more easily, could be really useful

There's no guarantee that improving our Armory Pockets makes switching easier. Our current trick allows rapid drawing of things but no switching, and the armor pocket upgrade we're aware of allows armor instead of just weapons...neither is indicative that item swapping is available in that way. It might be possible, but we shouldn't count on it until we get more Armory Pockets working and actually see it happening.

"Alright, but..." you have just one thing to ask before you head back home, "If you had to kill..."

'Steingrim.'

"Steingrim, would it still be that simple?"

Steinarr remains silent, unable or unwilling to answer. A spark of curiosity flashes in his eyes as you say that name.
I remember asking (or remember someone asking) Blackhand how he felt about revealing himself to Steinarr a while back now that we can take care of ourself. I can't remember his answer but I'm thinking it'd be good to do it soon. Steinarr already suspects something's up.

Cultivation, Crafting, and General Ideas Folder
So, a day or so late, but I made this to be a compilation post for various ideas we have for research and projects we'd like to do. This is intended so that everyone can contribute, and right now it's a bit thin in places, so if you have an idea you'd like added in, then tag me or @DeadmanwalkingXI and we'll add it in! Help us fill this up with stuff!

In terms of format, I've put ideas in spoilers so that it is easier to quickly scan through. Where applicable, the spoiler box contains a quote of the post where someone proposed the idea. The titles of the spoilers are intended to be short and descriptive, and I've roughly grouped them by theme. The way this is organised now seemed like the best way for quick readability to me, but obviously that can be amended based on experience and everyone's feedback.

When ideas get researched or we get an answer from Fister or whatever, I'll move them to the archival section in another spoiler box at the bottom.

Cultivation & Fighting

Cultivation

Asvir is a seeress in some way, maybe we can weave spells together with needle binding?
Does Weave Seidr involve needlebinding?
We know the pockets do
maybe trying to form Odr into strands and weave them or stitch them into the robe? there is also the experiment about trying to manifest our cloak physically. what else can use basic needlework?
we still haven't tried manifesting the cloak we made, worth a try. also maybe trying to create Odr strings, or alternatively bring physical strings into our soulscape and try infusing them with Odr/Orthstirr
another thing to try is maybe creating patterns in stuff we weave from aspects/orthstirr? or even runes?
and perhaps weaving the aspects in a certain pattern yield special results? though that research should probably wait for realm 2.
Weaving (NOT needlebinding (yet))
Hallas and Abjorns virthing
-Try weaving together Hallas and Abjorns Virthing 1d6
-Experiment with Abjorn and see if we can use each others' Orthstirr (possibly while touching?)

Alloying

-Try and Alloy Banish the Night and Puncture (Muna + Twist)
-Try and Alloy Banish the Night and Fight Of Your Life (Muna + Muna)
-Try and Alloy Punching Up and Stoker State (Twist + Martial Style)
-Try and Alloy Skill + Hugareida
-Try and Alloy Puncture and Ignition (Twist + Hugareida)
-Try and Alloy Muna + Martial Style
-Try and Alloy Hamr + Hugareida
-Try and Alloy Frenzy + Hugareida
3) Try seeing if Alloying an Inverted Hugareida outputs a different result from alloying a non-inverted Hugareida.
4) Alloying Punching Up and Against the Odds. Low odds of something useful, but might yield something interesting.
5) Try Alloying Fight of Your Life with the Stoker State. If Stoker Dice can recharge Fight of Our Life that would be great. Low odds since FoYL is an emotion-type Hugareida and Stoker state is a momentum-based Martial Art but worth a shot.
6) Try Alloying our Fylgja with our Hamr. Potentially dangerous but also potentially very useful.
7) Try Alloying Minds Eye Blink with Banish the Night - Potentially always on anti-illusion effect?
10) Alloy Tenderizing Roast with Housecraft and see if it makes us an amazing cook, Alloy Forgefire with Armor/Weaponcraft and see if it makes us a better smith (unlikely but worth a shot IMO)

Disclosure Dodging Schemes

We write a secret cultivation manual hidden as farming advice and/or a family saga.

(There's been like pages of posts and discussion about this, I'm not quoting all of that.)

Hugareida

1) Infusing one of our Hugareida Shroud with Odr, see what happens (test with Clearwater since it has the least potential for Bad Things)
2) Try inverting Hugareidas other than Standstill and see if we can get an interesting result. Test the 'inverted' Hugareida away from us while our Shapeshifts are on full DR since it's probably going to yield dangerous stuff of some kind. Ignition -> Icy Implosion??? Campfire -> Chill????

Tricks, Styles, and Combat Ideas

Wouldn't them being touched by it work? That was implied to work on normal people, I thought, or would it need to get in a wound to kill a normal person? If so, then that might explain why it's not used...it'd technically work but only if fed to them (since they don't get wounded), which is hard. Though not impossible with enough Glima, a metal flask, and some elbow grease.
8) Test out the effects of Odr on Mire Ward (More slowingness???), Contested Movement (Bonus dice????), Fortify (overlayed over the Orthstirr - More DR?)

Soulscape

Write a poem (IC, unless someone feels musekissed to make an omake for it) on a personally important thing/event and set up a runestone in Hallas Soulscape with said poem on it.

My choice would be the "first kiss under a falling tree" muna (deeply personal, important to Halla, and for the battles crowd it relates to our standstill Hugareida and if it has mechanical effects chances are good it would be a boost to standstill, one of our main Hugareida)
But i'm open to anything as long as it feels meaningful to who she is and involves her being more than just a fighter.
-Try setting up a runestone in Hallas Soulscape, inscribe the runestone with a poem with deep personal meaning (like a poem dedicated to "First kiss under a falling tree") 1d6
-build an altar in Hallas Soulscape, plant an Ash and an Elm tree around it so that Halla and the trees Form a triangle while using the altar 1d6
-feed the Ash and Elm Odr 1d6

Miscellaneous

Stoker state... and "stoking" Aspects... HIGHLY SUSPICIOUS

Crafting

Arms and Armour

We make our own version of Knightly Armour - ideally not just the plate, but the spiritual construct which inhabits it.

Architecture

We make a cool sauna and put some runes on it.

Farming

We feed our bees Odr infused honey, making them True Cultivator Bees, and then they... cultivate more Odr-Honey??

Other Crafts

Can we enchant a ship so that it flies through the sky?? Big if true!
A forged iron wand/staff/whatever with two prongs at the end angled inward to evoke both the shape of Ansuz, the rune of divine inspiration and insight, and the shape of a key, to symbolize the opening of the Gate.

We'll forge it with ash from the Witch's bones and carve into it something like

"Unlock Gates to open quicker,
Poetry's ichor flows with vigor"

Some opposition to using the witch's bones, with ravens proposed as an alternative.

General Ideas

I just add a trought, could we organize a fighting tournament or something similar? I remember another family in the Valley hosted an horse fighting tournament, we could do something similar by inviting the warriors of the Valley to this tournament. The winner gains Orthstirr and silver, and we should gain Orthstirr because we hosted and organized the tournament itself.

9) Probably good idea to test out what Perfected EWF (can we use EWF to disengage as well?) and Kindle Spinner (can we shoot out variant kindle spinners that have bigger AOE but less damage, no AOE but more damage, etc) do.
- We've used them, they're cool and otherwise basically normal.

{stuff goes here}

This is a really good idea, good job Skippy!

Regarding last chapter, i think we should soon visit the Troll Cave. First we could try talking with the Troll, so we can potentialy gain progress in Speaking Out Of Law. If it dosen't work we can always fight and kill the Troll anyway.

Who knows, maybe we can make the Troll pay the rent for living on our land?

The next couple of turns are...hectic. We can probably manage something with a little work though.

[X]Plan Training Items

We could still metion it to a couple of our guys, or just inform the headsman.
