@alexthealright by the way, I changed my plan after the reminder about Socket Stones. If you still want to vote for the original, that's fine, but you should be aware that's now a separate vote from mine, and if you agree with me we need socket stones you might want to change it. Just FYI.

A good thing in that it means we can't just copy what we did with Halla.
A bad thing in that it limits innovation, because he already has a style.

Honestly, we won't be able to duplicate Halla's style no matter what. For one thing our Hugareida will be almost entirely different (I'd expect overlap in Campfire and Clearwater and, uh, maybe one of the Weapon options? We might Alloy-up Forgefire, too, I could see that...definitely no Standstill, probably some other fire-related thing over Ignition), for another, our Fylgja will be different (halved Capacity matters a lot), and for a third the system itself will be different (Capacity won't even be measuring quite the same thing).

We may have elements of it, like Plate Armor if we figure that out, but honestly not that many. Sagaseeker probably won't go to Sigurdr so we probably go with a different weapon, I'd expect a heavier wrestling focus with Giant's Blood and Abjorn for a dad, and so on, even leaving aside the fundamental differences noted above.

I thought we fed all our Drafty Iron to Sagaseeker? Or did we have 22 before this turn?

We had 18 at the start of this turn before the Sagaseeker thing, and gained 4 as part of this turn's income from the ongoing deal. So yeah, we arguably had 22 there for a hot second (depending on whether the Sagaseeker thing was before the turn income or after).

@Imperial Fister what are the limits on "magical metal (write in)", and do dwarves have a metal that is better than forged iron in the same way that forged iron is better than bog iron, but very specifically is not Steel or similarly cursed/evil that we could potentially buy?

On that note, if we haven't gotten Sigurdr's Flygia revealed yet, then I'd really like to go for a snake or something snake-adjacent. Reason being that we worked out when discussing previously that this was probably the initial form you need to start with for evolving into a dragon, and a dragon Flygia would be really cool. The idea also feels kind of poetically appropriate to me given that Sigurdr is named after our ancestor who slew a dragon and then ate its heart, taking on some of the essence of the dragon. So a dragon soul kind of feels like coming full circle.

Also, I've drafted the post where we can stick research ideas so they don't get lost, despite the attempts of the post editor to eat it; I just need to fill it with a few starting entries so it doesn't look too empty.

The best advice I can give is to use word or docs or something else to write the draft first and then copy it over so SV doesn't eat it. I assume you're doing that already, but just in case

Having the "Seeing eyes" (the trait that boosts Fylgja stat) means the Fylgja is auto-revealed without our input.
Sigurds Fylgja is an Albatros.

[X] Plan Needed Iron And Information
-[X] Pay 48 Goods, 5 Food (+21 Balance)
-[X] Purchase "Advice on Underhouse" (-4 Balance)
-[X] Purchase 24 oz. Icy Iron (-4 Balance)
-[X] Purchase 18 oz. Storm Iron (-3 Balance)
-[X] Purchase 6 oz. Drafty Iron (-1 Balance)
-[X] Purchase 6 oz. Molten Iron (-1 Balance)
-[X] Purchase 7 Socket Stones (-7 Balance)

Could ask the dwarfs to help us build something in the Underhouse? If their skills don't work in Sunlight they should still work there.

His Fylgja is an Albatross, which gives bonuses to traveling. We can probably decide on its upgrades at 4 and 7, though.

Some things on the list (not remotely complete, but just to start us off):

-Experiment with Abjorn and see if we can use each others' Orthstirr (possibly while touching?)
-Try and Alloy Banish the Night and Puncture (Muna + Twist)
-Try and Alloy Banish the Night and Fight Of Your Life (Muna + Muna)
-Try and Alloy Punching Up and Stoker State (Twist + Martial Style)
-Try and Alloy Skill + Hugareida
-Try and Alloy Puncture and Ignition (Twist + Hugareida)
-Try and Alloy Muna + Martial Style
-Try and Alloy Hamr + Hugareida
-Try and Alloy Frenzy + Hugareida
-Try and get Sagaseeker to invest its Orthstirr in one of our Pockets to make an Armory Pocket for itself and see what happens, being careful to make sure there are no side effects to, like, setting Sagaseeker down afterwards, and undoing the process if trying to do that puts a strain on Sagaseeker or the Pocket
-Examine the Sunlight Amulet we have and see how it vibes with the Earthblood and Fireberries we also possess...does combining these three things make sense in terms of how they feel?

-Try weaving together Hallas and Abjorns Virthing 1d6

-experiment with different errors Sten might have made when he was tired and accidentally made Forged Iron 9d6
-build an altar in Hallas Soulscape, plant an Ash and an Elm tree around it so that Halla and the trees Form a triangle while using the altar 1d6
-feed the Ash and Elm Odr 1d6
--take branches from the Odr strengthened Elm tree, carve wooden chips from them and inscribe runes on those chips, invoke Odin and drop the rune chips, Interpret how they land as a form of divination 1d6
-Try setting up a runestone in Hallas Soulscape, inscribe the runestone with a poem with deep personal meaning (like a poem dedicated to "First kiss under a falling tree") 1d6

We were told this was ahistorical, and thus not something Halla would probably think of. Also, that divination worked with literally anything with an element of chance.

I'm against trying to make Forged Iron, but it's a legit research project...this is probably not anything. We know how to do divination already.

Dwarves have egg iron, it was brought up a very long time ago when we talked to the blacksmith and was said to be the best iron they have iirc. We've never tried to acquire any, though.
