[X] "I... Will wait till Yule."

It seems that, with you having refined your control over your fylgja, you are now capable of bringing living things into it without much—if any—risk!

This does mean that your soulscape now has a itty-bitty chick cheeping around in it, but that's an upside as far as you're concerned!

Just saying, i totaly called it that we needed an higher level Fylgja to bring animals inside our Soulscape. I enjoy sooo much when i am right.

Next turn we should add more animals to our Soulscape, and also add the Glowstones to our house.

Do we even know what the house does for our Cultivation? And is the house made of stone or wood?

"So," Sten mutters a grunt as he peers down at the inside of a shoulder-piece, "that's how it goes together."

Over the course of several months, you and Sten managed to figure out how to construct a set of interlocking plates inspired by the design of Knightly Armor. While certainly theoretically protective, it's simply not at the point yet where you'd consider wearing it into battle. It pinches all the wrong spots no matter the adjustments, you see.

Apparently we will need to work more on the armor to make a more functional design.

Yeah, that's definitely part of the plan.

Stone since we explicitly used the insights from Wessex.

Apparently we will need to work more on the armor to make a more functional design.

We're 3 Progression into what is probably a 9 Progression project, so yeah, definitely.

Hey Halla what was this about
Asveig knew something about how needle-binding plays a role in cultivation, perhaps more then you. As you know something about how weaving intersects with cultivation, you made the connection like that.

Now, that's not to say that Halla is 100% correct. Halla is wrong a fair amount of the time. That's not saying that this is one of those times, but it is a good reminder regardless.

Ah, that was sweet.
For the vote, it is with a heavy heart - hah, no, I really appreciate her offer to give us the present early though, and it's a really nice gesture, but it was intended as a Yule gift, so....
[X] "I... Will wait till Yule."

I just hope we can return the sentiment....
Now, for othe stuff!!
An Alloying of Ignition and Unending Time in the Sun results in a chaotic ball of raging sunlight in your hand. If so desired, you could throw it at things.
Hm... Guess ignition gave it substance, hence the option to throw?
Kinda curious what it does though....
Same with the aspect altered tricks have any extra effect, as that wasn't experimented, just that we can affect tricks with our aspects.
An Alloying of Ignition and Banish the Night causes the light emitted from your body to flash extremely brightly for a brief period of time, effectively blinding anyone who looks at you.
Huh....
Flash has been achieved, I guess?
....is it combat usable? Andi guess we need to find out if there is any other effects?
Alloying of Standstill and Stoker State has an odd effect. It seems that you've stumbled onto something you're calling a 'Stoked Standstill', which allows you to utilize Standstill with Stoker State moves and vice versa.
Nice.
Guess this will be one of our mainstay alloys from now on, but the effects are gonna be interesting.
Instead of separating themselves into the well-defined and orderly groupings of Nobiliary, Chivalric, and Clerical, Frisian Cultivators instead all follow an odd mix. While Priests still provide their traditional guidance, they do it for large swathes of the populace instead of only small groups or individuals. Only one Frisian could be called a 'Noble' and that would be the current possessor of the Potestaat title.
Hm...
Everybody is a cultivator, Germanic offshoot and Potestaat title that seems similar to Jarl...
Interesting, curious what the rest will say.
Also, no wonder the Carolingian cultivators are so few, compared to the population, priests only giving resources to a few.

Did Asveig ever have that 'Weight' about her, like an Odr cultivator?

It's been so long that your memory is kind of hazy. Unfortunately, unless you're paying attention to it, it's very easy to not notice the odr spotlight—especially if you're not an odr cultivator yourself

Yeah, that'd be too easy.

.
On a completely separate note since we're about to buy things from the dwarves, are weapons for Giant-Blooded the same amount of Iron as normal weapons, and specifically, how much Iron is needed for a pair of saxes for Tryggr and a giant axe for Trausti?

@DeadmanwalkingXI Is it in the cards to see how getting 1 Infusion Rank in every single skill affects us before we go to Realm 2? I know that it got recently shut down as each Infusion rank is another 9 Foemen and 3 Spirited Foemen that show up to Disclosure and people are hoping about that, but is there any real hope of Disclosure working that isn't BOOK and therefore a reason to not drop the 15 Odr into 1 for each of the remaining Skills?

I have not quite given up hope, though I acknowledge it as highly unlikely. I'm also very dubious this does anything in terms of 'before Realm 2'...that's just deeply unlikely. We'll do the '1 in everything' eventually, but not super soon, IMO. We can try '1 in everything before Realm 2' on our next character, for whom it will be no hassle at all.

[X] "I... Will wait till Yule."
It's always fun to wait for surprises.

I think we can be pretty sure that Asveig was a powerful user of seidr in her own right and knew about odr. There are too many hints for it to be anything else. One, there's the amulet that she left you, which has runes even Blackhand can't decipher (though his memory is patchy). Two, what Sten told you about what happened after the "the manure incident": there was "a flash of light" and "the flapping of a wing", and the next day Sten found no signs of battle or even bodies. That sounds like powerful seidr to me. Three, the needlebinding. In fact, this makes me wonder if Asveig didn't want us to become a warrior partly because she knew about the Enemy and that we are in danger of getting the Enemy's attention onto us if we kept going on the path we were on. That may be a reach, though.

Given this new information about Asveig, should advance our plans to go to Vestfold? I'm quite sure we'll learn a lot about seidr/runes/the Enemy. We can catch up Aki too, ask him about whether he remembers what we told his soul about odr in Niflheim.

cultivator bear get (soon)!
are we gonna mention the whole "making the pet bear sentient" thing to anyone or is it gonna be a surprise?

alloying stuff is really interesting. seems like rather get stuff permanently like Hugareida alloys it provides immediate effects? which is cool. we should probably map those connection more now, given that all 3 Hugareida+something alloys gave us something useful. perhaps Forgefire+stoker state to let us use stoker state while crafting? or maybe try combining our weapon Hugareida with stuff? we can also try alloy stuff with sundersight perhaps?

another possibility is trying to alloy two Hugareida with the influence of something else. ie, Gale+ignition again but adding banish the night

the bit about Asveig is interesting, we should definetly do some more research about her and about needlework. while its likely related to Odr, it might also be related to Seidr. should probably ask Solrun about it come summer. in the meantime, any ideas for more uses of needlework? maybe trying to form Odr into strands and weave them or stitch them into the robe? there is also the experiment about trying to manifest our cloak physically. what else can use basic needlework?

should we also maybe question Steinnar more about Asveig? or Sten at least? maybe do it with Asva.
can the amulet she left us have some clues about the Odr/needlework stuff? maybe we should examine it

Does the issue with the current plate understanding only apply to Halla or also to people that have the shapes a Christian would expect for a warrior?

I suspect the issue is for everyone. Both because we're not anywhere near completed with the project yet (IF said it was a 9d investment, we've put in 3), and because armor for women isn't actually all that different.

And also the prototype armor was made by Sten for Halla, so even if Halla was notably well-endowed (as people with large breasts can have some trouble breathing properly in armor, according to some people I know) it wouldn't be a problem.
