Lights... Camera... ACTION!!: A Hollywood Quest

IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT
Hi Magoose here one of the guys helping Duke.

So we have some bad news.

The quest has been canceled as duke does not want to write it anymore.

I'm going to ask if I can take over for it, because I like this quest, and it would be a shame to kill it
TBF, Mags, you have been doing a lot of the heavylifting for the quest, so this will be in good hands. :)

To be clear to everyone, this is just me burning out on imagination of the quest, since my muse has been hitting me over the head a lot with so many different ideas that I just can't find myself too interested in this.

I'll still hang out here, though, since this still does have a sepcial place in my heart.

I'd like to thank you all for making this a wonderful experience while it lasted.

I'd also like to thank @Magoose, @Fluffy_serpent, and @Martin Noctis for doing so much to help prepare and write this quest. I couldn't have done it without you all. :D

I'll see you all around.

With so many regards, Duke William Of.

The Lucasfilms Warchest as of January 1977 (Before we begin the Warner Looting)
The Lucasfilms Warchest as of January 1977

Current Assets in Terms of Liquid Assets:

633,243,570 USD's (This money is from several members of the company, but primarily from the Profits of the Films. George's own personal investment, as well as investments from Marcia and the start-up capital leftover from Bruce's Investment)

A Catalog of the Current Assets of the Company, in terms of FIlms, rights to stories, etc.

Owned Rights to Franchise/Films:
Star Wars
Dune
Rocky (Co-Ownership with Sylvester Stallone)
The Entire Robert Howard Character Library (Conan the Barbarian, Red Sonya, Solomon Kane, etc)
Carrie (Only in Stewardship, Brian Depalma owns the rights, but as he is now a partner/Employee of Lucasfilms, it is counted here)

Films currently in Production (Or Post Production):
Close Encounters of the Third Kind
----------------------

Current Subsidiaries/ Bonuses for Production:

The Ladd Company (Partnership):
Production within the US is significantly cheaper, meaning that when you give a budget, more money will be spent on other things, like VFX or actors' salaries. It also gives a roll bonus to hiring actors by +20.

Bruce can now, without any roll maluses, work on several movies at the same time. (But they must be filmed in the same country)

All Script Rolls will have a +20 to their rolls.

If Alan Ladd is a Producer on a film, suffers no production penalties.

Industrial Lights and Magic (The Magicians). Add the VFX, and Special Effects Rolls to all productions under this banner, and gain a +20 to all their rolls. (In Use For Star Wars and Close Encounters)

The Eisner Group (Lucasfilms Marketing Division): Internally called that by everyone who works for it, because Mike is basically running it for distribution, This group of overworked and underpaid People is in charge of hyping your films up for the masses, as well as making sure butts are in seats for when the curtains are drawn.

The Writers Room (Or the Screen Team): Where the screenwriters of the Studio gather for ideas, for their screenplays to be shared, and where they are finally put together into movies. (Screenplays from real life, and among your pitches are created into actual film scripts. With varying quality every year. You currently have 3 Writers in the Room, Dave Alister, Paul Schrader, Robert Zemeckis, and John Millus. They will produce 3 workable and producible scripts every six months. They can be asked to make more by using the new action to ask them to develop the pitch. They can make more, but only on special occasions.)

Cool...

I would be willing to add to this amount up to 200-300 millions from our own funds for the Warner Looting...

@Magoose I just realized that one of the Omake rewards was doubling the merch profits. Does this mean that we made 2.8 billion in merch and Bruce gets near 300 million, and thus is an official billionaire?

No. That was the doubled profits of the merch roll.

When I said you rolled low on the merch, I meant it. We got totally fucked on that roll, and that bonus was the only thing keeping it from being less then ideal.

The Looting of Warner Bro’s
The Looting of Warner Bro's:

Mike Eisner and you were all with your counterparts' lawyers and members. Colombia was there. Same with United Artists, Paramount, and even Disney. But no one else is more noteworthy than Sid Sheinberg himself. The man himself was almost board with it all, looking at some of the names on the list with interest, but not enough to make you wonder what he was thinking.

He had brought his entourage of Lawyers and enough money to try and buy everything, at least at this particular moment. There was going to be hell to pay as Warner began to auction or attempt to sell everything that wasn't nailed down and quite a few things that were.

Well almost. Some prop hunters like Debbie decided to buy some of the none descript items that were up for sale. Props, costumes, and even memorabilia were among them. And you just loved every bit of it, because Debbie increased her collection by tenfold.

As you waited, you saw Sid walk over to you and then looked at Mike. "You didn't return my calls, how childish of you Mike." Sid stated as if trying to rile up Mike.

"If I wanted to talk business, you could have set up a meeting with my assistant. The simple fact that I refused your calls was giving you the same courtesy that you gave me." Mike replied. "Actually more so, because I gave you every ability to call back and talk, instead of leaving when you didn't get what you want."

"This is business Mike, not some David vs Goliath crap that the media have decided to label this little feud we have." He sighed. "I don't know how you managed to swing over Steve to your little frat party of a company Mike, but he's going to only have his bad habits made worse there."

That earned a snort from Mike. "You care about Steve Spielberg, or do you care about all the money you lost when you couldn't retain his services?"

Sid seemed hurt at that before he changed the subject to you. "You know, a lot of people in this town think you're the best thing that happened to it? You could be the next John Wayne?"

You frowned, narrowing your eyes before you said. "Or the next Eddie Fisher with the way you treat your people?"

At that, Sid looked genuinely sorry in his eyes. "I heard what you did with poor Eddie, and that was not my intention, nor his-"

You growled. "If you want to walk out of here on your own two feet, Mr. Sheinberg, it would be very wise to not continue this line of conversation."

Instead, Sid just continued. "A pillar of Hollywood being destroyed by mismanagement. And here we are, vultures to its corpse. Feasting upon it before it becomes naught but bone and ash. I hope that we can be more wise than the men who caused it. And not let more fall apart from our hubris."

He then walked away, and Mike put a hand on your shoulder. "Bruce, calm down. He's playing games."

"He let that bastard hurt my wife." You stated calmly.

"I know, so we're going to do our best to hurt his pride, his wallet." He smiled.

You nodded.

Let the games Begin.

Please note, that for this turn, there will be a write in that will be subject ot my approval, as this is also a bidding war. After each thing, you must put an amount that you are willing to spend.

Please also note that the other companies are trying to buy themselves pieces of Warners Corpse as well. Be aware.

Properties For Sale:

[]DC Comics: The Heart of the Big Two of the comic industry of America, one of the pillars of Pulp… when they are solely focused on superheroes that is. It is just as much a part of mainstream American culture as everyone else. And among all the others, it has a catalog of some of the most famous superheroes in the world. And everyone is wanting a piece of it. (Minimum bid on the DC Comics must begin at 100 million. Gains the production of Superman, one of the last films Warner is making before it fully disbands. As well as their comics division)

[]Warner Animation (The Loony Toons): The Classic Looney Toons characters are all a packaged deal, just as they were when Schlesinger studios was bought up by Warner when he came in. There is no doubt about it, they are among the most popular cartoon characters in the world. And they carry with them the price tag of success. (Minimum bid on The Loony Toons must begin at 50 million. Gain all the Loony Toons characters, and the rights to their shorts, TV show, and other marketing and promotional material.)

[]Dirty Harry: Clint Eastwood crowning Jewel of Urban crime drama, as well as the best action movie in years. It's more of a personal favor for Clint to get his baby back into his hands. And the fact he may owe you a great many favors.

[]THX 1138: George has said that he wants his film back, and wants to give it the release it deserves. Also, you think he deserves a nice gift when he comes back from Vacation?

[]Write in (THe write in is for anything that Warner has created prior to 1974)

AN: enjoy and vote in plan format please.

All I really care for is Dirty Harry and THX, but I am willing to throw my support behind Warner Animation. Although, it might be good to try and do some write-ins.

The Looney Toones, Dirty Harry and THX 1138 is what I think we need to aim for, the rest is just superfluous.

Now, in order of priorities: THX 1138, Dirty harry, then the Looney Toons.

Okay what are people's opinions behind DC comics and if we should get that or Marvel. I know a few people have very firm opinions on not doing comics, but if we get either DC or Marvel, I promise not to have Lucasfilms create a comic universe of films until the 2000's. It's impossible to make great and timeless superheroes at this point because the tech is too crap. We'll just greenlight any films someone wants to do with the property and be hands off for 20 years, which will be a few years IRL.

@Magoose Why is Star Trek being auctioned off? I actually looked it up and it turns out that Paramount currently owns the rights to it.

Well, you, and everyone on this thread, already know my feelings about it so I'll refrain from subjecting you to it any more than just saying I'm all for Marvel, and we should let DC go to either Universal, Paramount, Columbia, or even United Artists.

Mark my words: Marvel is the future. :)

I've also made my stance more than clear. I believe Charlton is the best option, but if we don't pursue that, just don't take anything and wash our hands clean of it all.

[X] Plan Looney Lucas
-[X]Warner Animation (The Loony Toons): The Classic Looney Toons characters are all a packaged deal, just as they were when Schlesinger studios was bought up by Warner when he came in. There is no doubt about it, they are among the most popular cartoon characters in the world. And they carry with them the price tag of success. (Minimum bid on The Loony Toons must begin at 50 million. Gain all the Loony Toons characters, and the rights to their shorts, TV show, and other marketing and promotional material.) $150 Million
-[X]Dirty Harry: Clint Eastwood crowning Jewel of Urban crime drama, as well as the best action movie in years. It's more of a personal favor for Clint to get his baby back into his hands. And the fact he may owe you a great many favors. $50 Million
-[X]THX 1138: George has said that he wants his film back, and wants to give it the release it deserves. Also, you think he deserves a nice gift when he comes back from Vacation? $60 Million
-[X] Enter the Dragon: $15 Million
-[X] A Streetcar named Desire: $1 MIllion
-[X] Rebel without a Cause: $4 Million
-[X] East of Eden: $4 Million
-[X] Giant: $4 Million
-[X] Cassablanca: $10 Million
-[X] The Maltese Falcon: $2 Million
-[X] Blazing Saddles: $4 Million
-[X] Ocean's 11: $2 Million
-[X] The Searchers: $5 Million
-[X] What's Up Doc: $1 Million
-[X] Arscenic and Old Lace: $1 Million
-[X] Cool Hand Luke: $2 Million
-[X] Mean Streets: $1 Million
-[X] Alice Doesn't Live Here Anymore: $3 Million
-[X] You're a Bug Boy Now: $1 Million
-[X] Finian's Rainbow: $4 Million
-[X] The Rain People: $1 Million
-[X] Get to Know Your Rabbit: $1 Million
-[X] The Daughter of Rosie O'Grady: $1 Million
-[X] Mary, Mary: $1 Million
-[X] Pump $150 Million into the Lucasfilms Warchest

Priority should be Warner Animation. It will provide a damn solid foundation for Dreamworks and the Looney Tunes deserve to get some love. Plus, if we ever create "Lucasland" we can have them as our mascots ala Six Flags and diversify the park beyond just Star Wars.

Get Dirty Harry because Clint deserves his movies and it'll fully bring him on board with the team.

Get THX as a Christmas gift to George so his beloved first child comes back home and it can get the proper release and love it deserves.

Anyone want to change the prices? I'm willing to go far higher and I feel we can go up to 350 million at most. With this we devote half of our warchest and give a little boost for after thanks to our cash infusion.
