It was one of the largest events you ever did. And one you think would echo through your own life as you decided that the best way to feel good was in charity.
It began, one night, with taking calls, and asking questions, or asking their friends to tell them a gift was on the way. Now there was no way of knowing if everyone was in need, or was struggling, but you decided that it was no need to be picky. So you fed everyone you could.
And you did it for over 1 million people in California that left you cards… And over 10 million all over the country. Mostly in the South, in African American communities, which surprised you quite a bit. You thought that they didn't like you that much with some of their leadership despising you as another "Rich White Man, praying on our young for money."
You could see that some people said you were just being a prideful fool who was that? But almost everyone else…
They cried, being able to have a true meal, a true family moment that you shared with your own.
Some called you a saint, those that believed anyway. Most called you a good man.
And you felt good.
Yet the thing you decided to make things better was to use Georges Contacts in Kenner and the toy industry… And well… got toys for millions of children, quite a few star wars toys among them.
It made Mike as mad as hell, but after the numbers he saw, he decided that making you angry by protesting your charity… would be a bad idea.
