Lights... Camera... ACTION!!: A Hollywood Quest

IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT
Hi Magoose here one of the guys helping Duke.

So we have some bad news.

The quest has been canceled as duke does not want to write it anymore.

I'm going to ask if I can take over for it, because I like this quest, and it would be a shame to kill it
TBF, Mags, you have been doing a lot of the heavylifting for the quest, so this will be in good hands. :)

To be clear to everyone, this is just me burning out on imagination of the quest, since my muse has been hitting me over the head a lot with so many different ideas that I just can't find myself too interested in this.

I'll still hang out here, though, since this still does have a sepcial place in my heart.

I'd like to thank you all for making this a wonderful experience while it lasted.

I'd also like to thank @Magoose, @Fluffy_serpent, and @Martin Noctis for doing so much to help prepare and write this quest. I couldn't have done it without you all. :D

I'll see you all around.

With so many regards, Duke William Of.

I'd actually see him as something of a Mentor/philisophical counterweight in terms of explaining a little idea I've thought of.
Perhaps an avatar of the machine consciousness? A sort of collective avatar they have chosen to act as a representative.

If the Agents are the immune system then Bruce's character could be the face.

In humans it is what gives social cues to others and shows how they are feeling. Bruce could act as something akin to the machine's "Diplomat" or spokesman. A hyper realistic robot outside of the matrix and a digital program inside.

I always chuckle at the idea of machines reaching perfection, seeing as they were built by flawed beings and thus are flawed in turn.

2 Pitches at once?! What is this world coming to! In all seriousness, I decided to pair up two pitches this time because I felt like it made the most sense, given the circumstances. With Undertale being released relatively soon(even though I wanted to hold off on it, but you guys wanted to blow your loads early, which means y'all also need to get around to making some omakes if you want to guarantee Undertale does well. We've got to get it to be the first billion dollar animated movie!), I decided to make a pitch for one of the premiere magical girl anime and manga, Tokyo Mew Mew. Why? Well, because it's actually referenced in Undertale. Remember the anime Alphys is obsessed with, Mew Mew Kissy Cutie? It's a reference to this series. With it coming up soon, I thought I'd spin this off into its own pitch for an anime and a manga. For the TV Show, I put Mavis as the writer since I felt it made the most sense at the end of things. For the Marvel pitch, I was originally going to put the original creators. I didn't really see any reason why I shouldn't and Reiko Yoshida is a hell of a mangaka and showrunner. She made Tokyo Mew Mew, D. Gray Man(a personal favorite of mine from my childhood), K-On!, Bakuman, Girls und Panzer, A Silent Voice, Digimon: The Movie, and Violet Evergarden, among others. That said, after talking with @overmind about it, I decided against it and to instead use an OC that he came up with and that I'll be developing. I'll cook up a quick omake for this OC to further develop her after Undertale comes out and after I finish the Charlton omake I'm currently working on with @Cyberphilosipher. I'll be real, I can't really say I like this direction and it's not especially clean of a solution to the problem we were having that led to this decision being made, but I can live with it. For the sake of clarity, the timeline of things is that Undertale would be released first, the Manga is created after some time, and then the show is created after some time, probably for the 90s when magical girls explode as a genre. Oh! I'm also trying something a little different. I've been wanting to better specify my pitches going forward, so I'm trying something new. Instead of just pitching an anime, I'll be pitching it to Sunrise. Same goes with anything else. If it's non-anime animated movie, it's pitched to Dreamworks, if it's a video game, it's a LucasArts pitch, etc. I didn't do that for the Marvel manga pitch here though, just because we haven't come up with names for our manga imprint/imprints/arm/arms Anyway, without further ado, I hope you enjoy!

Marvel Manga Pitch:
Tokyo Mew Mew

Created by: Sakura Miyaguchi
SET UP: Ichigo Momomiya expected her first date with her crush and cutest boy in school, Masaya Aoyama, to have a more romantic ending than her falling asleep after she sees a vision of a cat entering her body. Things get even stranger when, the next day, she begins displaying cat-like behaviors such as an intense craving for fish. When Masaya is attacked by a monster, she discovers that she is able to transform into the cat-eared magical girl, Mew Ichigo. After she saves Masaya, two researchers named Ryou Shirogane and Keiichiro Akasaka approach her and reveal they had injected her with Iriomote Cat DNA in order to create a magical girl that can save the world from aliens. Ichigo is tasked with fighting these monsters, but saving the world proves to be just too much for Ichigo to handle by herself. Fortunately, she learns that there are four other girls just like her, and now, Ichigo must find them quickly before the aliens completely take over the planet.

Sunrise Pitch:

Is it a bird? Is it plane? No! It's the next issue of Doomsday Clock! Are you winning yet, son?! In all seriousness, this one wasn't too bad... at first. I've been getting a lot of help from @Cyberphilosipher, who has graciously lent me his assistance on my Charlton project. Together, we came up with an actual plot! How about that? Something that I'll be doing, as previously mentioned, with all previous Doomsday Clock issues once this event is completed. It was going along so well... and then we came to the Monarch vision section. Ugggh. It was that moment that I started hating this pitch. I wrote it in stream of conscious, which is why it's so disjointed, messy, and shitty at that part, and there's a reason I don't normally write stream of conscious. It was such a pain in the fucking ass and I ended up having to skimp out on the Sarge Steel visions. Regardless, it shouldn't be too much more going forward and Cyber's help made the whole thing waaaay easier. I also decided to do something else a bit different, which I'll be going back and retroactively adjusting as well, and that's actually having different artists. I felt like just having Geof Darrow on everything didn't really work and I wasn't satisfied with it. For this issue, I put Mike Grell on it, whose art is not only excellent, but who I'll be placing as the writer for Sarge Steel post-reset. Also, you'll notice a couple of things in the story itself. For one, I've added some worldbuilding stuff that didn't exist previously for Charlton, that being The Panopticon, ILIAD, the Maggot's Nest... and I think that's it? I'm sure you can understand what they are, more or less, by just reading through, but they'll be explained more thoroughly in the Charlton Universe megapost I'll be making in the future. You'll also notice two new characters, one original, and one from DC. Laplace isn't important right now and I'll probably be adjusting her post-reset, but as for Booster Gold, I'm sure some might be a little miffed, so I thought I'd explain my reasoning. For one, Charlton needs more character, period. The company was around since the Golden Age, but it wasn't until they were close to shutting down that they created most of the heroes people know them for. I don't want to be only using those immensely few number of characters along buoyed by nothing but OC superheroes. I want to be including some OTL superhero creations, but those are tough to gather without upsetting people, either by taking away creators or taking the creations, not to mention finding ones that met the right conditions. Booster Gold, however, was one that I felt made a lot of sense. He's strongly connected with Blue Beetle, he was introduced in his own issue OTL as the first new DC hero post-Crisis, Dan Jurgens didn't seem to be known for much else, and Booster does fuck all in the comics, and so his loss wouldn't exactly be felt. Overall, I thought he'd make sense to add to the Charlton lineup. I'm sure I had other things that I wanted to say, but I can't remember what they are now, so I'll just wrap it up. A very special thanks to @Cyberphilosipher for working with me on this, as well as all his assistance with other behind-the-scenes Charlton work. Without further ado, I hope you enjoy!

Charlton Comics Pitch:
Doomsday Clock Part 7

Writer: Jeff Rovin
Artist: Mike Grell
SET UP: In the year 2050, Earth is under the rule of the oppressive tyrant, Monarch. His rule is dystopian and the future is bleak for the people of Earth. Matthew Ryder, an expert on temporal studies and a scientist under the employ of Monarch, worked to develop his technology to travel back in time and prevent the tyrannical ruler from ever rising to power. He learned that in the late 20th century, one of Earth's superheroes had turned evil. They had gone on to kill all of Earth's heroes and villains, assumed the identity of Monarch, and began their rise to global domination. Because Monarch only ever appeared in a full body suit of armor, his previous identity was unknown to Ryder. Matthew Ryder succeeds in travelling back in time, 20 years before Monarch's massacre of Earth's heroes, in his desperate bid to find Monarch's true identity and kill him with his new powers before he can rise to power. Unfortunately, Monarch is not far behind and is determined to hunt Ryder down and kill both him, and anyone else who stands in his way. To face this unprecedented threat, Earth's greatest heroes and it's most sinister villains must work together to defeat Monarch and change the future.
In this installment of Doomsday Clock; Needing assistance to break into Sarge Steel's Government Archives, the location of which was obtained from The Question, Waverider travels to the Washington DC area to find anyone of note who works for Steel and his base.

Fortunately, his luck turns as he finds a young man named Michael Jon "M.J." Carter, a military MP and night watchman who is convinced to assist Waverider after mentioning The Question and a possible chance to meet Blue Beetle and give him the chance to be more than he could ever be. Instead of flying as he normally would to Steel's base, a government archive meant to house secrets on the Super Heroes and specialists that protect America and her people, Carter and Waverider drive in Carter's car in order to keep a low profile.

As they drive to West Virginia on this impromptu field trip, they talk about many things, including discussing their lives and how different they are; as people, as believers in a higher cause of justice and how they would act if given the chance to be better.

After some time, they finally arrive at The Panopticon, a massive, but highly secretive government facility that serves as the base of operations for Sarge Steel and ILIAD, the intelligence organization that Sarge Steel leads.

They break into the base and fight through the agents and defenses in the facility. Waverider splits up with Carter and tracks down the archives, looking for information on the various heroes in order to cross-reference it with the fragments of Monarch's own data and memory he stole. As he does so, Carter continues to hold off the agents present while Sarge makes his way to them in order to combat the intruders. As he fails to find any useful information, Waverider grows more and more frustrated, until he finds information on an asset kept within The Panopticon.

A young girl referred to as Laplace who has the ability to see probable and alternate scenarios at will, as well as being able to see how the path comes to be if she looks into it deep enough, although she can only do the latter with one scenario at a time. However, unlike Waverider, who bears a similar ability, she is able to control what she sees, leading to his desire to seek her out.

While he's searching through this information, Sarge and his men have reached Carter and after a brief bout, Sarge incapacitates and detains Carter. Waverider tracks down and enters Laplace's containment room, alerting Sarge and his men to his location. Although he initially considered simply taking the information from her, after seeing her and being reminded of his daughter before she had succumbed to Monarch's propaganda and became one of his Peacemakers, he instead chooses to approach her more gently. He speaks to her, attempting to convince her to assist him and meanwhile, Sarge and his men race to reach him, taking Carter with them due to being unable to waste time doing anything else. He is unable to convince her before Sarge arrives outside her containment, but they are being barred from entry, allowing Waverider just enough time to convince her to assist him.

They hold hands and activate their powers, sharing their abilities and visions between each other, focusing on visions of how Monarch came to be. Just as he does so, the agents manage to gain entry. As Sarge sees Waverider with the young girl, he becomes immediately agitated and races forward to keep her away from him, unintentionally intruding onto the process and muddling the visions and the information gained by Waverider. He is bombarded with these powerful visions, and despite many being made unclear by Sarge's intrusion, he is able to clearly make out some of them. He witnesses a figure who stands a shining beacon, a great hero loved by all. He watches as this beacon is worn down, the weight of his countless battles, responsibilities, and expectations grinding him down.

No matter what he does, nothing ever gets truly better. Worse yet, things seem to be getting worse. Heroes and innocents die in increasing numbers, Villains wreck greater and greater havoc, and he's continuously forced to compromise his beliefs for some nebulous concept of "good" that he can no longer believe in, all while the people grow increasingly hostile towards the heroes. He sees that despite the figure's growing weariness, he does still have something good in his life. A woman.

He witnesses their love for each other, day in and day out, and no matter how close the hero comes to falling apart, she's always there to help put him back together, just as he helps keep her strong. He sees as the hero's superiors are concerned with his performance. He's doing his best, but it's not enough for them. He isn't good enough for them, and so, they present him with an experimental new suit that will greatly increase his performance and propel him to even greater heights. Matthew Ryder comes face to face with a tyrant, the armor of Monarch. The hero is wary of the suit, concerned for what it would mean for him to put it on and what he'd be made to do, so he seeks the counsel of the woman he loves. She helps him navigate his feelings and bring him peace of mind. He has his answer and he will not put on the armor. That's not all she has to say, and Ryder watches as she gives the hero the greatest news he's heard in years. She's pregnant.

The hero is ecstatic and for the first time in ages, he begins to hope for the future. Months pass and criminal acts are only getting worse, but the hero has made his choice. It may have put him in an awkward place, but he knows that it's the right decision, but although they are able to claw some semblance of happiness from their increasingly dark world, the peace can't last forever. The woman is walking home from buying groceries when she is held up at gunpoint and robbed outside of their apartment, unable to retaliate due to her pregnancy. She complies, hoping to avoid any conflict and protect her unborn daughter, but in an act of senseless violence, the robber shoves her to the ground and onto her pregnant belly. She begins going into labor prematurely and is rushed to the hospital, but the signs don't bode well. The hero rushes to the hospital once informed, and makes it not long after the woman has finished giving birth and they savor each other's presence and discuss their daughter before they receive the terrible news. It was a miscarriage and the little girl that they'd have named Amy was dead.

The news breaks the couple and their lives suffer for it. Time passes, but they remain stuck. The woman is not truly there, often spending time in the room they had prepared for their daughter. The man is devastated, growing more disillusioned and detached from those around him by the day, and yet, the world keeps spinning. Even with the personal issues he faces with his work, with the public, and the growing divide between him and the woman, he must continue. In the midst of this, the Earth is attacked by a terrible alien force, a situation that leads to the hero being convinced to don the Monarch armor, no longer so steadfast in his principles, and though they are eventually defeated, great losses are incurred. The world is devastated, cities are in ruins, hundreds of millions of lives have been lost, chief among these losses being the woman, whose corpse he discovers when aimlessly wandering the ruined city, more than able to have survived, but choosing to die instead.

He doesn't know what to feel. He's afraid, he's angry, but more than anything, he's tired. He's lost everything, and for what? Nothing he does matters, nothing ever really changes, and he's constantly left to pick up the pieces once it falls apart around him. The more he thinks on everything, the more bitter he becomes. He won't stand for it anymore. He'll make things right. Things will… no, things must change. He floats over to the gathered heroes while remaining in the sky, his visage obscured and his silhouette casting over them as he makes his decision. He will become Monarch.

Along with these visions however, he also sees clear visions from Sarge Steel. He watches as a young German woman gives a speech to a large, indiscernible crowd in a large and secretive location, adorned with Nazi imagery. She speaks about past glories and humiliations, of defeating their enemies and destroying undesirables, of community and the superiority of their race. She brought them together for a vision, to build a community to realize this vision, and declared them to be Gesellschaft. He sees as the Artificial Intelligence and Supercomputer, NESTOR, is brought online under ILIAD. He sees as NESTOR tracks all actions and identities of everyone in the country and being used to assassinate threats before they can become threats. He sees fellow ILIAD agents betraying Steel on the commands of a rival within the agency.

Finally, he witnesses Sarge and Laplace meeting for the first time, and him slowly taking up a paternal role for the young, orphaned girl. After being overwhelmed by the effects of their powers, Sarge collapses and is out of commission and despite her still being weak and overwhelmed by the visions, Laplace makes her way to Sarge in order to check on him and ensure that he's okay.

With Sarge incapacitated and his men distracted, Carter uses the distraction to take out the agents and despite being injured, helps carry Waverider as they begin leaving the facility. As they leave the facility, they are confronted by Captain Atom floating above them, his figure initially obscured by the shadows casted by the sun and flanked by heroes such as Nightshade, Peacemaker, Judomaster, The Question, Blue Beetle, Thunderbolt, Yellowjacket, and Son of Vulcan.

The issue ends with Captain Atom stating that they have a lot to answer for and that they'll be able to do so from the inside of a cell in the Maggot's Nest.
Wow. Imagine the villains teaming up with the heroes...
A Touch of Home

Shinichi Nakamoto thought on his new life as he worked at his new station. it had been nearly a year since he'd finally left Japan behind. Nearly a year since he'd taken his friend's recommendation and started a new job at LucasArt of America. Nearly a full year since he'd had to constantly awaken at the crack of dawn and come back late at night in order to keep on working on conditions that were fit mostly for indentured servants, with the promise of having to do it for the rest of his life being dangled at the top of his head like a reward.

Yes, Shinichi Nakamoto had abandoned his home and land of birth... and he couldn't be happier.

At least I get to sleep better.

Yes, sleep was one of the better perks. It had been a long while where Shinichi could claim to have slept a good restful night instead of having to make do with quick naps in between his breaks due to the lack of it. His colleagues were another unexpected perk, quickly becoming friends who introduced him to the many new vistas and locations to have fun and decompress after a hard day's work. He'd never been the most sociable person, both at school or at work, but Shinichi had found himself with a new disposition for enjoying life and its amenities instead of just working day in and day out.

And what an interesting work it was. He'd been a part of LucasArts for a couple of years now, and he'd seen it grow from a small group of programmers to a true proper company, he'd arrived just as the new group of creatives were establishing their own niches, and programmers still needed some aid in understanding just what exactly they were supposed to do. It was a period of transition, where the old guard that made up those games and consoles from the Atari were now learning that there was an entire competitive market in Japan that had been trying to outdo each other, and in many ways were already moving forward in both innovation and technology when it came to videogames, and were now forced to play catch up before said companies like Nintendo decided to establish their own enclave in America with no competition.

Frankly, it had been exhilarating, being able to work on something new, meeting new people, being able to exchange ideas, before a more established hierarchy had been settled, and LucasArts had taken advantage of the decline of Sega's parent company in order to buy their assets. LucasArts of Japan was born then, and though he had been offered a chance to go back and work once more at his home country, in the end, he'd chosen to stay rather than go back to the land he'd once fled from, even if the benefits would remain.

Still, he would always end up missing something.

Taking his eyes from his computer and looking into the rest of the office, Shinichi looked at time and found it was only around ten minutes till closing time. Huh, time had sure flown by, it was to be expected of course since he'd been so focused on what LucasArts Japan had sent just last week; the latest on what Sakaguchi had managed to achieve with the demo for their new console. Frankly, it had still astounded him how big LucasArts could think sometimes. Other companies would make sure to have an already established reputation in the market with Arcade Games and previous deals with other electronic consumers, but LucasArts had jumped right into the deep end of the metaphorical pool, and was setting themselves as the next big competitor against the current reigning king.

Was it hubris or confidence? He could not tell, but it was so in brand with them that to expect a different route would have been unbelievable.

As one of the main testers, as well as debugger for the project (not the only one of course) he'd found himself astounded at the speed of the project, how the entire company had gone from "What makes a console?" to "This is the newest iteration, and it already puts the Atari 2600 to shame". It was only a matter of time until they had something that went a bit beyond 8 bits like the Famicom back home.

Perhaps 16 bits? Well, Shinichi was not a dreamer, but could it be called a dream when the technology was there?

He smiles to himself, thinking on just what he may do now? He could try and do a bit more work, though at the moment he does not feel like it. His friends have been telling him about this new Karaoke place that just recently opened, the idea finally having made its way after so many of the new employees raved about it at one of the bars. Or perhaps he could just go back home and rest for the rest of the day. He had possibilities now that he'd never dreamed of before.

But as his mind pondered, his sight took him to some of the mementos he'd chosen to take with him and decorate his new working station; same old knickknacks that he'd managed to win in some Pachinko games, a certificate back from when he managed to gain some small recognition (he'd been so proud then), an old book of Japanese tales, and a small picture from when he and his family had gone see the Sakura Trees blossoming, it had been one of the most anticipated times of the year for him growing up, when both him and his parents could just take some time to just watch nature itself with hardly any concerns at all.

He gave a bittersweet smile. His parents, they had not taken the news of him being fired well back then. His father had yelled at him for his attitude and had near dragged him to apologize and beg for his old job back, with only his resistance and arguing back being what stopped him. He then winced as he recalled the crying face of his mother as he and his father shouted at each other, both stubborn men who would not abandon the path they'd set on no matter the argument of coercion that was put against them.

It was not a good memory... But for all that the old anger at his father was still there, the same could not be said for his mother. He still recalled how, during his unemployment and blacklisted period, her mother had braved his father's wrath and disapproval to leave him some freshly cooked food without his knowledge. Many were the days when all he could eat was what his mother would make for him, and when he couldn't he'd make sure to save for a rainy day.

He may not give a crap what his father thought of him, but he would always be grateful to his mother for never giving up on him.

He remembered when he told her that he'd found a new job and was moving to America, how she'd cried once more, but this time he joined her for a bit. How she'd told him how proud he'd made her, how she wished him happiness wherever he may be or whatever he may do...

How she gave him their old book of Japanese tales, the one that she used to read him at night before going to bed. How he'd love hearing her tell him of old folk tales, or historical legends, or how she would even invent some new stories on the spot using them as characters. He never thought much about it, but her mother had an incredible inventive mind when it came to creating tales to tell him back then.

Flipping some of the pages, he could still see some writing she'd put in-between them through the years, and stopped as he saw one of the sections filled with more writing, and even some small drawings around the edges, all framing a tale he remembered hearing over and over again; his favorite tale, that of Goemon Ishikawa, the thief from Edo, considered one of the greatest burglars of his era, and one that was eventually captured and killed by Toyotomi Hideyoshi.

Except...that was not how the story his mother had told him went. He still recalled the many different tales and ways she spun the tale of Goemon; how he tricked Hideyoshi in order to escape and run from the Guards of Edo, how he went on more adventures stealing money from those in charge to give away to the needy peasants, the different tales that mixed how Goemon met priests and exorcists and went on adventures through the entire lands facing all kinds of enemies, both physical and spiritual, tales that would always make him go to sleep with a smile on his face, and tales that would no longer have a place in his life when he grew up and he was pushed down the path of the wage slave he'd finally escaped from.

Shinichi could not believe that he'd forgotten such a happy time in his life, nor the old tales that looking once more had him wonder if they could have been made into an entire book if his mother had had the chance like him.

Or perhaps something else...

Looking at the little drawings, and the new capabilities of the proposed console...well, perhaps it would not be an entire adventure, and perhaps it would have to be simplified to the barebones. But as he saw once more the old book, his mother's old book... well, he could think of worse ways to spend his free time.

He might need some help though.

"I'm not saying no, but why exactly are you asking me?"

"Because, for all that I can program a game, I'm shit when it comes to storytelling." And it hurt to admit it so. Shinichi had been trying for weeks now, but for all that he'd found his skills for this new idea to be sufficient on the technical side, he also understood that if he truly wanted to honor her mother's idea and legacy, he would need to find a way to introduce them in the best way possible.

Thus he needed Dawson's help.

"I'm flattered man, but I am still on Team Fantasy's staff at the moment, and we really can't afford to take any other long-term project".

"It won't even take you a week." Shinichi promised as he held the book to him. "Look, the notes and stories are here. What I need is not for re-inventing the wheel, but just...find a way to grab the best elements for what we can do, and see if something coherent can be made for the console. I'll deal with the programming later."

Steve was still looking warily. He really could not afford to take on more work now. Not when he was so close to finally fulfilling his dream. It had been a blessing that the moment he joined LucasArts that they'd also managed to snag nearly the entire staff, programmers and workers from one of Japan's failing game developers. Hironobu Sakaguchi, the unofficial (at the time) leader had looked at his proposal and been fascinated by it, enough that both had exchanged ideas, refined his proposal even more, and were now in the middle of finally developing it so that it could be ready to release as a game with the newly proposed console. He should really not get involved with this.

But...could he really deny someone the way he'd been denied so many times? Despite the few times they had interacted, Dawson still considered Shinichi a friend. He'd seen the man get along and adapt to life in America with a zeal that could only be seen in the converted, and truth be told, it should take no longer than a week if he aided with the coding and programming as well.

For a friend, it should not be that hard.

"Fine..." Dawson agreed, taking the book and thumbing through it. "Does this project have a name?"

"Yeah. I thought I'd call it..."

Videogame Pitch:
Mr. Goemon

Set Up: Demons have begun to appear in Edo. Goemon notices one of them, and begins a journey to stop the evil beasts. Their power comes from a lamp on the top of Edo castle, so Goemon decides to take it away. However, Goemon is a famous thief in Edo, and ninja wanting a reward for capturing him will attack him. Goemon will have to brave both these ninja and the demons if he wishes to finish his quest.

Game Developer: LucasArts Entertainment
Director: Shinichi Nakamoto and Steve Dawson
Genre: Side-Scrolling, Platform, Action-Adventure.

Goemon: He is a heroic bandit ninja whose actions are always motivated by a noble cause and his strong sense of justice. Goemon is described as a hot-blooded character with a strong temperament, having the personality of a typical Japanese hero. He risks his life to both give the money he stole from the rich to give to the poor, as well as protecting Edo from the demons that suddenly appear.
Raijin: He is a green djinn-like creature that appears in the first stage, where it acts as the boss. Raijin floats around the screen and launches lightning bolts at the player. In order to defeat him, the player has to throw items at him. One single item is enough to defeat him, but Raijin also has the ability to use a shield to protect himself against any projectiles thrown by the player, making the battle more difficult.

Kabuki Bros: They are a trio of samurais that act as bosses of the second stage. They throw their wig at the player and jump everywhere. Much like the other bosses, in order to defeat them, the player need to throw an item at them. But in this case, they need to be defeated all three at the same time otherwise they will keep reappearing.

Tengu: He is a flying humanoid being (possibly a demon) wearing a dreadful tengu mask –which portrays a demonic face with an unnatural long nose– and large and loose white clothes. He floats about in the air while throwing projectiles at the player, making him a tough enemy (or boss) to beat.

Golden Shiva: It is a golden statue with multiple hands that appears in the fourth stage where it acts as the boss. Golden Shiva floats around the screen and launches its hands at the player. The hands act similarly as a boomerang and go back to the statue. In order to defeat this boss, items are required to be thrown at it. The statue can also use a shield to protect from the items. It needs to be hit five times in total. The fourth time, the statue become red colored, is more aggressive, and move faster.
Goemon can move left and right, jump, or drop through platforms. Pressing a Button will make him whack with his primary weapon, the kiseru (smoking pipe). There are several objects scattered throughout the levels Goemon can pick up by running into them, which range from everyday items to even Fortune Dolls, although they all serve the same purpose: to act as projectile weapons Goemon can throw by pressing another Button. These will fly straightforward and knock down all enemies that happen to be in their path. In addition to these methods of attack, Goemon can stun his enemies by jumping onto their heads, push barrels to make them roll over them, and even grab a rare golden hammer to make himself invincible for a short period of time.

The main structure of the game consists in Goemon having to travel through four stages, in a mission to first steal a big stack of gold from a rich house and then carry it to an impoverished village at the end and spread it among its inhabitants. A time limit is given to complete these stages, which is represented by a moon in the sky that slowly moves from the left toward the right end of the screen. The player is given points depending on how quickly they reach the halfway point, as well as the ending. After completing half of the overall level, Goemon will steal the gold from the rich house and then take a break to calmly smoke his pipe, while a map shows how close he is to the village. A boss is faced at the end of each stage; after defeating it, Goemon will enter a village at nighttime and spread the stolen gold coins around while the windows of the houses in the background light up. By clearing the fourth stage, the player is awarded 10,000 points and then given the choice to restart the game at a higher difficulty setting.

Guards will be consistently running around the stages and persistently chase after Goemon. On advanced levels, they may also throw sai straightforward, which can instantly kill the hero. If a guard (or guards) gets a hold of Goemon, he will start choking him until he subdues him and a life will be lost; the player has to repeatedly wiggle the controller left and right in order to escape his grasp. Some enemies can throw projectiles, which can instantly kill Goemon. Demon enemies can shoot gas, which stuns Goemon. Near the end of the stage, Goemon will face a boss, which are stronger than normal enemies and can only be harmed by throwing items at them, of which there are plenty in the areas they are encountered in. Bosses include a Raijin-like demon, a trio of ninja, an even stronger demon, and many glowing gold statues with one red statue. Only the statues are mandatory to be defeated; Goemon can simply walk past the other three bosses.

A.N.: This came to me when I was reminded once more of the fucking waste of Konami's properties while I was watching how P.T. was cancelled because they are so obsessed with their Pachinko games. Well, if Konami is going to let their franchises to just lie there to be wasted, then we might just as well make use of them!
Nice! Will Lucasfilm just buy Konami at this rate? Also, what console is Lucasfilm making?

One change I'd make is include Thel 'Vadamee, also known as the Arbiter, in a smaller role to set up his appearance in the sequel.

Good point added that right away!

And ofcourse it's going to be Keith David. No one else can play the Arbiter than him.

One of the flaws of the original games is how the introduction of the Elite that became the Arbiter was a "remember the new guy" situation. "Here's this new character we're just introducing that we're implying was there in the background the whole time."

Also any reason to give Keith David more screen presence is a good thing.

The thing is in the game: it made sense why we didn't see him in the first game, because master chief never encountered him.

In a movie or a book Thel could be used like Tarkin or Makarov (from the original modern warfare series) only appear on the screen when shit is about to go down and he is at the steering wheel of the chaos. So while it's just a few scenes make sure his scenes are worth their weight in gold

Lord of the Rings: The War For Rohan
This was written in a sort of fugue state after seeing the animated Lord of the Rings: War of the Rohirrim trailer.

I was not impressed and not amused by the mid animation, bad naming of the main character, whitewashing of Helm, stupidity of well…just about everything.

The following is not lore accurate down to the last detail, but it is my rebuttal to the absolute mess the trailer seemed to imply. To challenge myself I decided to incorporate some of what I saw in the trailer, a connection between Wulf and Helm's daughter, a Great Eagle, Helm's daughter being somewhat of a fighter…but I brought it as much in line with Tolkiens lore as I could and absolutely ditched the atrocious name Hera, which has no foundation in Rohirrim naming schemes at all.

The plan is for this to be a three hour animated feature, live action mini series etc, released in the early to mid 2000's, depending on when Lucasfilms and Peter Jackson release the main Lord of the Rings adaptation, wether that be the late 90's or early 2000's, this is planned to be released 3 or so years after Return of the King.

Lord of the Rings: The War For Rohan

The movie begins with a young boy called Frealaf, son of Princess Hild and Lord Forlhred being taken on a ride through the lands of Rohan, his father forced him to ride as he will be a warrior of Rohan one day, ignoring Hild's protests. They eventually come across Helms Deep, where Frealaf sees his uncle Helm in the distance, he noticed the ones working on the castle are not freemen, but slaves, his father dismisses them as Dunlendings and Druedain 'savages' who refused to leave the lands of Calenardhon which was gifted to the Eorlings.

On the return trip, Forlhred once again pushes Frealaf hard, forcing him to gallop and perform manoeuvres on his horse. His horse slips and he falls down a steep ridge into a river, as his mother screams in horror.

When he awakens he is surrounded by strange looking people speaking a strange language, Dunlendings. At first frightened, a young boy comes forward and helps the wise woman of the Dunlending convoy help nurse him back to health, they teach Frealaf some of their speech.

The boys name is Wulf, he is the son of Freca, a Dunlending who claims descent from a bastard of the royal House of Eorl, upon finding out Frealaf is the nephew of the King, Wulf demands that, as distant relatives, they must take him back home to his family, Freca takes this as an opportunity to gain rewards. Wulf and Frealaf bond as Frealaf teaches Wulf how to ride like an Eorling.

When they get to Forlhred's keep, the man initially rides out to slaughter the Dunlending convoy, but is stopped by the sight of Frealaf, Forlhred attempts to cheat Freca out of a reward and send him away, but his wife Hild reminds him that a life debt cannot be so easily dismissed, Freca seizes on that and promises the blades of his warriors in exchange for some land, which Forlhred grants.

Wulf and Frealaf grow up together, becoming strong friends and warriors, unfortunately Forlhred, disliking his sons connection to a Dunlander, sends Frealaf to the Golden Hall of Meduseld to be a squire to his uncle, King Helm.

Helm at first seems a kind man, big, boisterous, inhumanly strong and loud. His eldest son Hama is obedient and quiet, and his younger son, Haleth, a troublemaker, his daughter, Helcyn, is kind and honourable and is the most welcoming to Frealaf. However, at a feast, Helm strikes his son Hama and threatens the same to Frealaf, though the next morning he apologises and blames it on the drink.

Frealaf grows, shown by a montage of him riding, eventually joined by Helcyn, who has also grown, meanwhile the small Haleth has become a teenager, and Hama a laconic but subtly loving hyper skilled warrior. They return to Edoras, where Helm announced they will have guests soon, Dunlending guests he spits out.

It is Freca, who, due to military victories, has greatly expanded his lands and continues to announce his claims to be a descendant of Eorl. Helm immediately dislikes the loud, braggart, Dunlander, and his son, who is a familiar face to the royals, it is Wulf, who has apparently regularly visited, and secretly both he and Helcyn are in love, though Frealaf knows.

During the feast Wulf and Helcyn sneak away to discuss their relationship, and Wulf admits his father hopes for a marriage to solidify his power as one of the largest landowners and warlords of western Rohan. Helcyn does not believe her father will accept, but Wulf says his father is very persistent, meanwhile back at the feast, Helm seems misinterprets Frealaf trying to cover for Wulf and Helcyn as interest in his daughter, and notes he would not be opposed to such a match, as such a thing would bind Frealaf closer to the main royal branch after the death of his father and mother years ago.

The next day Freca asks for Helcyn to marry Wulf before the entire court. Helm laughs at him, but this enrages Freca and his Dunlending soldiers, Freca insults the King which enrages Helm, but before bloodshed can occur, Helcyn speaks up and states the match could end the hostilities in Rohan between the remaining Dunlendings and the Rohirrim.

Helm calls for everyone to leave so he may speak to Freca alone. The two men have a tense conversation, where Helm states that the Dunlending are on land that belonged to Gondor and was gifted to the Eorlings, Freca himself is a liar and a mercenary and he knows that he wants Wulf on the throne, Freca tries to deny this, but is eventually enraged by Helm and insults him once more, stating that, as a descendant of Eorl, and a better ruler, Freca himself should be on the throne. Helm splits his head open in a single punch.

He throws out the Dunlendings and strips Wulf of his fathers lands and exiles him, much to the horror of Frealaf and Halycn. Frealaf offers to escort Wulf out of Rohan, as a sign of respect, and to ensure Helm doesn't change his mind and have the Royal Knights hunt him down and kill him. Helcyn kisses Wulf's cheek goodbye before the entire court, which earns her a backhand from Helm when they argue about it, though he immediately apologises, she refuses to see him after.

Frealaf and Wulf near the Dunland border and are captured by Dunlending raiders, however, Wulf is recognised, his father Freca was in constant contact with the Dunlendings of Dunland, and despite being supposedly their enemy, traded and gave supplies to them, for this, they spare Wulf, who in turn convinces them to spare Frealaf.

Wulf and Frealaf sit in on a festival mourning the dead and lost when the Eorlings drove the Dunlending out of 'East Dunland', bards and skalds and wise women speak and perform tricks and Wulf becomes enamoured with this. Afterwards Frealaf leaves, but promised to do what he can to return Wulf his lands.

When he returns to Edoras and hears of what happened with Helcyn, he comforts her, telling her stories of when he and Wulf were younger as she relays the tale of how she first met Wulf when he first came to Edoras to see Frealaf. A regretful Helm listens from the doorway.

A timeskip montage occurs and we see Frealaf be gifted higher ranks in the royal court of Edoras and fighting easterlings, while Wulf becomes more and more entrenched in Dunlander culture, getting Arm rings, tattoo's, wearing furs and eventually both stories crescendo in Frealaf riding out of Edoras to war with Helcyn's favour, where, after witnessing Helm smash an Easterling Kings chariot in a single blow of his hammer, he saves the life of Hama, the heir to the throne and is knighted by Helm even as Wulf fights and slays the chieftain of the Dunlendings and becomes their leader.

After, in the war camp, Helm requests Frealaf help Hama when he becomes King, he admits he was wrong to banish Wulf and that there are many things he regrets in life, but that Frealaf has the tolerance and wisdom he does not, and, he trusts Frealaf to help his son, promoting him to Third Marshall, in command of the Eastmark. He also requests that Frealaf 'teach Helcyn to smile as she once did, before my follies'.

Meanwhile back at Edoras, Haleth tries to hear petitions from the court, he complains to his sister, who is actually handling the petitions, about not being able to ride to war with most of the troops, Helcyn reminds him he's only 13, not ready to be a warrior. Haleth states that there are many Dunlending raids occurring out West, and he could handle those while Helcyn could handle the court, but she ignores him.

Things are interrupted with the sound of warning horns. An army approaches Edoras! Helcyn states such a thing is impossible, no one could approach the capital of Rohan without being detected unless knew the patrol routes of the army. Which no Dunlending would know.

The Dunlanders quickly storm the capital with their greater numbers, and their leader bursts into Meduseld and demands Haleth's surrender. Haleth in turn demands to know who would dare attack the Kings Hall…only for the Dunlander leader to remove his helmet and reveal Wulf.

Wulf demands the restoration of his fathers lands and an end to his exile, as well as lands for many of his followers along the East banks of the River Isen, he then also demands Helcyn's hand in marriage. Despite Helcyn begging him to surrender, the young Haleth refuses, and instead challenges Wulf to a duel. Helcyn goes to Wulf, and begs him to spare Haleth's life, which Wulf states he always intended to do anyway, he kisses Helcyn aggressively, and promises he will never leave her again, though she looks conflicted about both the kiss and Wulf's presence.

However, during the duel, Haleth continually refuses to yield, the 13 year old easily smacked around by the seasoned warrior, until, in an accident, Wulf mistakenly stabs Haleth in the throat and kills him, as Helcyn screams.

Helcyn flees the great hall and locks herself in her chambers and barricades herself inside, even as Wulf tries to explain it was an accident, his soldiers ask if they should hack the door open so he can take his 'prize', but despite obviously considering it, Wulf refuses. He instead goes to a feast down in the Great hall, where he becomes drunk, he is guided to the throne by his followers, who then begin to announce him as king, ignoring his protests. They eventually silence him with more drink and crown him with Eorl the Youngs own crown-helmet, to escape, Wulf drunkenly stumbles outside, where he hears the screams of Edoras' population, several building having been torn down to make fire pits, and Haleth's body, hung up and displayed above the gates of the town.

Helm, upon hearing of the attack, races back with his army. He smashes a Dunlending force and, through torture, forces its leader to recount the death of his son and his daughters capture. In a rage his kills the captured Dunlending leader with a single punch to the chest.

Frealaf refuses to believe Wulf would do such a thing, but also sees the civilians fleeing the Dunlanders. When Helm threatens him for casting doubts about Wulf's culpability, Frealaf decides to leave with those men who will follow him to round up the displaced civilians and take them to safety, choosing to go the the 'cursed lands' of Dunharrow, near the passage of the Dead, where the Dunlanders refuse to go.

Meanwhile Wulf opposes his lords who wish to challenge Helm directly, instead he orders them to wait until the winter, and for now, they will hide behind walls and raid, which they do. Helm splits his host, one under himself, one under his son Hama, and announces they will keep campaigning through the winter. Using a snow storm, Wulf and his army ambush Hama's force, killing them and forcing Hama to flee, before the battle, Helcyn, who refuses to allow Wulf to touch her but has shown signs of forgiving him, makes Wulf promise not to kill Hama, unfortunately, Hama is chased into the storm, and slips down an icy ridge, down in the cold waters of a river below. He does not surface.

Helcyn decides to leave upon hearing of her brothers death, not saying a word and not being stopped by Wulf or his army.

Helm, upon hearing of Hama's death, becomes depressed, but Helcyn's appearance helps calm him and bring him out of his stupor, somewhat broken, he ignores his commanders advice to fight Wulf in the field, and instead flees to Helm's Deep, there he shuts himself inside the castle. Helcyn objects, and instead states they should call on Gondor for aid when Wulf begins to approach, she accuses Helm of wanting to die, to which he states 'what father wouldn't?'.

Helcyn dispatches a scout to Gondor, while she leaves Helms Deep. Wulf and his vanguard catch her, and this time he refuses to let her go, demanding that she be his bride and claiming that he has brought 'East Dunland' back into the fold, and that, together, they can convince the Eorlings to accept the return to the way 'things always should've been'. She refuses and flees, chased by several cavalrymen, she gets into the mountains, and there uses the terrain to help fight several of them off with a sword she steals from Wulf. She is eventually cornered on the top of a mountain, but is saved by a Giant Eagle, who carries her away.

Meanwhile Frealaf and his camp in Dunharrow are having issues with men going missing near the mountain pass. Frealaf decides to follow the path to try and find the missing people. He comes across the gateway to the dead, and goes inside, he finds the corpses of those who went missing, and is attacked by the Dead of Dunharrow, but manages to flee and escape, when he returns to camp, he informs his men that they cannot stay here permanently, and may have to flee Rohan entirely to Gondor, one of his men see a great eagle approaching in the distance…

Back at Helms Deep, Wulf informs his commanders that besieging the castle is their only option, as the walls are impenetrable and the mountain makes it impossible to truly surround the keep. That night however a horn is blown, and Helm attacks, charging forward with some of his men, he sends men flying with every blow of his hammer, seemingly inhuman. He then fades away before the morning comes.

Wulf realises there are secret passages in the mountains that will allow Helm to continue to raid their forces, he looks at the fortress and sees Helm looking back at him from the walls. We go into a montage of Helm blowing his horn as he attacks the Dunlending army, killing them with impossible feats of strength as the Eorlings with him and stop the walls cheer every night.

Eventually Wulf announces he will challenge Helm personally in the next battle. Helm, in the next raid, sees Wulf in his armour riding towards him, he slaps aside a man who gets in his way, and then duels Wulf, quickly overcoming him and killing him, snapping his neck with his bare hands. However, when he removes the Helmet, it is not Wulf, but one of his commanders, Helm is killed from behind by the man he slapped aside, who is revealed to be Wulf, having swapped armours with one of his commanders.

Despite this, Wulf admits to his remaining men that the winter has made supplying the siege too hard, though it ends soon, they will have to wait months before trying to seige the fortress out again. They've lost too many supplies and men. However Wulf publicly swears to the garrison inside the castle he will starve them to death or take them away in chains next time he returns.

Back at Dunharrow, Frealaf awakes from a nightmare of the dead chasing him, Helcyn notices his lack of sleep, as she tends to the Great Eagle, feeding it, he questions why it helped her and stays with her, she claims that it must've been impressed with her bravery as the mountain she fought up seems to have been it's roost…now it stays for the free meals. She comforts Frealaf, relaying her own nightmares regarding Wulf coming to take her, the two find comfort in each other and reminisce about better days.

Suddenly a rider is spotted, the man is an Eorling, and one of the raiders who saw Helm die, he relates Helm's death and what Wulf promised the garrison of Helm's Deep. Frealaf decides that, with Gondor still not here, that Rohan is alone, and he must put a stop to Wulf, he takes a handful of warriors and they disguise themselves as Dunlendings, Helcyn kisses his cheek goodbye.

Using his knowledge of Dunlending language and rituals from his time with them and friendship with Wulf, Frealaf and his men infiltrate occupied Edoras at night, and starts preparing to set fires and burn the camp, while arming the townsfolk secretly. Frealaf goes to the Golden Hall, where he finds Wulf in Helms bedchambers trying Helms armour on. Wulf immediately recognises Frealaf and the two begin a fight, Wulf demands no one interfere and begs Frealaf to surrender and serve him in the new Kingdom of Dunland, Frealaf retorts that Wulf has become worse than Helm ever was, and the two fight, while outside the infiltrators starts fires and the townsfolk and infiltrators begin to cause confusing as they kill the Dunlendings.

Frealaf gains the upper hand over Wulf, who calls for the rest of his watching men to aid him, Frealaf is forced out onto the balcony of the Great Hall, and surrounded, only for the call of a Great Eagle to be heard, Helcyn arrives, atop the eagles back, and carries Frealaf off to safety, cutting Wulf across the cheek when he tries to grab her. She reveals she flew the eagle to Helms Deep, as the garrison appear on the horizon alongside the rising sun, they charge the Dunlending camp around Edoras, defeating the Dunlanders who flee with Wulf, who is wounded from his fight with Frealaf and bleeding from his face due to Helcyn.

The Eorlings begin to proclaim Frealaf as the new king, as he is the closing surviving male heir and has won a great victory, Frealaf attempts to object, but Helcyn joins in the calls for his crowning. Frealaf admits to her his fear of being a king like Helm, remembered for a war and for fighting Wulf, and that, if he were to be a King, he'd rather be the king who was forgotten, than a warrior monarch. But Helcyn convinces him that it is the best way, and maybe the only way, to defend Rohan, she kisses his cheek once more, and he reluctantly accepts the crown.

The celebrations are spoiled by the arrival of an army, at first the Eorlings are afraid, but then they see the banners…a white tree on black. Gondor.

Frealaf welcomes the Gondorian Captain, who excuses his lateness by explaining the scout sent to them was half dead due to the winter mountain passages when they found him. It took time to nurse him back to health, and then time to organise and army and march to Rohan. Frealaf accepts this, and then muses about better ways to call for aid between the two kingdoms, suggesting potentially a Beacon system.

Wulf, his wounds now infected, calls for his army to shelter in the fortress of Orthanc, he himself takes a room at the top of the Great black tower, he explains to his generals that Orthanc was made by Numenorian magic, and will not fall to the weapons of the 'Southerners'.

Frealaf, Helcyn and the Gondorian Captain arrive at Orthanc, and concur that they cannot break open Orthanc, it is too strong. Yet they have no idea how to sneak inside and storm the gates, suddenly, appearing from a shadow in their planning tent, comes a voice, offering to hell.

It is the White Wizard. Saruman.

Saruman offers to help the allies find a secret passage that will lead them to the gatehouse and open the gates for their army. To this, the three agree, however, Frealaf states he will lead the raid, against Helcyn and the Gondorian Captains objections.

Saruman simply strolls up to the wall, the Dunlendings seemingly looking right past him, with the group of 10 Gondorians and Rohirrim led by Frealaf, he gets to a section of the wall, seemingly presses a random part…and a secret door opens up to a hidden staircase, the group sneak in, but run into a Dunlander patrol.

Saruman directs the group, telling them when to duck, turn right, block a blow, when someone is behind them etc, all very calmly while the infiltration team use his advice to fight their way to the gatehouse. There, they block themselves in, even as they realise the great handle mechanism will require at least 20 men to move and open the doors. Only for Saruman to strike the chain with the but of his staff, and it to suddenly come loose, the doors swinging open. The allied army charged through and battle begins.

The Dunlanders are swept aside as they try to flee to the tower, most are captured and Frealaf prevents them from being killed, as the army surrounds the great tower. From it comes Wulf, thin, pale, with fever, dying from his infections, still in Helm's armour. He demands to fight Frealaf, who accepts, and is kissed on the lips for good luck by Helcyn.

Wulf accuses Frealaf of betraying him, taking his woman, his crown, his glory, his destiny. Wulf attacks, but can barely stand, Frealaf defends himself, begging Wulf to surrender, that he will see him treated for his wounds and will even allow him to stay in court, but Wulf refuses, and Frealaf is forced to kill him. Frealaf looks into his dying friends eyes and tells him 'You look just like Helm'. Wulf dies, and Helcyn gives his body one last kiss upon the cheek before turning away from him and embracing Frealaf.

The Dunlanders in the tower surrender, but Frealaf let's them go and take Wulf's body with them. He grants Orthanc to Saruman, as long as he promises to defend it from Dunlanders, and returns to Eorlas.

There he is properly crowned, but not with the crown of Eorl or Helm, but a new crown, made of silver and soft, instead of the crown-helmet of Eorl or the jagged spikes of Helms crown. Helcyn has become his wife and queen, but both still mourn Wulf, they escape to the balcony together and look out towards Dunland.

Frealaf voices his hopes that one day, man will not look out and see foes, but fellow people, of dignified bearing, as he monologues about his hopes that people will end the cycle of war, we see the Dunlendings inter Wulf in a great burial mound the size of a Hill, with weapons and gold and the dignity of a king.

After Frealaf expressed his hope for peace one day, we show the passage of time, over a century, and atop Wulf's burial mound we see a gathering of Dunlanders, poor, filthy and ill equipped, they stand around a fire, it is a recreation of the scene in the Jackson movies where Saruman convinces them to attack Rohan for all the Eorlings have done to them. The movie ends with the Dunlanders chanting 'murderers' and marching to war as Saruman stands there, pleased.

Notes:
The Rohirrim got up to some mean shit for a long time when the migrated south post Eorl the Young. We get told they forced the Dunlendings out, granted they themselves migrated to Calenardhon after it was depopulated due to civil wars, invasions and plagued but still.

We also get told that the Lords of Rohan hunted the Duredain tribesmen of the forest like animals until Theoden outlaws this practice.

Anglo Saxons also utilised Slavery, hence why I have it be used here.

Nothing here is explicitly lore inaccurate, and my harsh take on Helm feels somewhat justified, considering canonically he murders Freca after getting him alone on false pretences and then starts a war that almost destroys his country and dies during it. I think in universe he's glorified due to his strength and defiance during the siege of the Hornsburg (which I refer to as Helms Deep in the pitch because that's what Jackson does and I'm not above fan service) but the text very much does all it can to make you think he's a jerk who doesn't deserve the glory he's given.

I kinda tried to portray him as a Lu Bu esc figure, admirable and awe inspiring due to his physical feats, a failure as a leader due to his personality.

Major Character List:
-Frealaf: The Protagonist, Helm's nephew, Wulf's friend. Founder of the second royal line of Rohan, direct male ancestor to Théoden and Eomer.

-Wulf: Son of Freca, a boastful Dunlending leader. Wulf is the future King of Dunland and attempted conqueror of Rohan, in love with Helcyn

-Helcyn: Daughter of Helm, once in love with Wulf, falls for Frealaf, eagle rider, shield maiden, Princess.
Note: In keeping with Eorling naming traditions in the book, I incorporated some thematic connection to her parent, or even outright elements of her parents name. Because Hera has no basis in Rohirric naming schemes or Old English, the animated movie chose it because they thought it sounded neat.

Anyway In this case I fused Helm, which in old English means protector, with cynd, the Old English for a persons nature. Thusly the name Helcyn means Protective Nature, which I feel is accurate to her character here, and is pronounced quite similar to Helen, for whom a war was fought between Troy and Greece. Also appropriate.

-Helm: The Hammerhand, King of Rohan, builder of Helms Deep, a man of great strength, but also great arrogance and impulsiveness and rage.

Malpaso Studios Movie Pitch Red Dead Redemption 2
While I was waiting to hear back from some people, I decided to dust this off and finish up the Red Dead duology. A problem I ended up running into while making these two pitches was trying to keep track of the cast list because there was just so many names, it was hard to remember if I had already used anyone before. I actually ended up having to delete a couple of characters I intended to cast because I kept reusing people and couldn't find anyone new who could play them. If it's the case that I double-casted someone without noticing, it can be fixed when it's made. I also decided to do a bit of retconning. Instead of Quentin Tarantino being the writer, I'm just having Clint Eastwood writing the duology along with directing it. I'm also now specifically attributing the film to Clint's Malpaso studio in order to better bolster an ally of ours along with better complimenting him and his studio. Something that NEEDS to be noted is that although this is billed as Red Dead Redemption 2, this is actually the first game and the first Red Dead Redemption movie follows the events of the second game. The reason for this is because I hate when stuff is out of chronology. It just bothers me. I also decided to try and undo the alternate history aspect of Red Dead, similar to GTA, and instead replace the locations with real states and whatnot. I think that's everything I had to say for now, so I'll leave it at that. Hope you enjoy!

Red Dead Redemption 2

Directed by: Clint Eastwood

GENRE: Action/Adventure
SUBGENRE: Western
FORMAT: Movie
SET UP: Set in 1911, during the decline of the American frontier; John Marston, a former outlaw, has his retirement interrupted after his wife and son are taken hostage by corrupt government agents in ransom for his services as a hired gun. In exchange for their freedom, he is blackmailed by the lawmen to hunt down the members of his former gang and bring them to justice.
In 1911, the family of former outlaw John Marston is kidnapped by Bureau of Investigation agents, Edgar Ross and Archer Fordham, who force him to hunt down his former gang members in exchange for his family's return. John first goes after former ally Bill Williamson, who now leads his own gang that terrorizes the residents of Texas. He arrives at Williamson's stronghold at Fort Mercer, but fails to persuade him to surrender, resulting in John being shot and left for dead. Rescued by local rancher Bonnie MacFarlane, he helps her with several jobs around her farm, while formulating a plan to attack Williamson's gang. John makes a number of allies to help him carry out the attack, including U.S. Marshal Leigh Johnson, con artist Nigel West Dickens, treasure hunter Seth Briars, and an arms smuggler known as "Irish." Ultimately, John and his allies storm Fort Mercer and kill all of Williamson's men but learn that Williamson has fled to Mexico to seek help from Javier Escuella, another former ally of John. John parts ways with his allies and travels to Mexico.

Upon his arrival in Nuevo Leon, John becomes involved in a local civil war between Colonel Agustín Allende, the state's tyrannical ruler, and Abraham Reyes, the leader of a rebellion against Allende's government. John works with both sides in exchange for help in tracking down his targets. When Allende decides to turn on him, John is rescued by Reyes and vows to aid the rebels in gaining an advantage. During a raid on a Mexican Army fortress, the rebels help him find Escuella, who reveals that Williamson is under Allende's protection. After capturing Escuella, John hands him over to Ross and Fordham. Reyes eventually leads an assault on Allende's palace, and John helps him chase and execute Allende and Williamson when they attempt to flee. Leaving Reyes to rule Nuevo Leon and lead his revolution to Mexico's capital, John returns to the United States.

In Blackwater, Ross and Fordham enlist John's help in tracking down Dutch van der Linde, his former gang's leader and John's former mentor. Dutch has recently formed a gang with disaffected Native Americans, with whom he shares a hatred for the government and modernization. Aided by Ross's associates, John finds Dutch's stronghold in the mountains. After helping Ross and Fordham thwart Dutch's robbery of the Blackwater Bank, John partakes in the U.S. Army's assault on Dutch's stronghold. Chased to a cliff, Dutch concedes defeat and warns John that the Bureau will not give him peace, before committing suicide. Afterward, Ross honors their agreement and allows John to be reunited with his family.

Returning to his ranch, John reunites with his wife Abigail, son Jack and former gang member Uncle to attempt an honest life again. However, this peace is short-lived as Ross betrays John and leads a U.S. Army unit in an attack on his ranch. John tries to fend them off, but the attacking force is too large, and Uncle is killed. John helps his family escape and stays to face the attackers, who kill him and leave. In 1914, Jack buries Abigail next to John after she dies, before tracking down a newly retired Ross to confront him about John's death and kills Ross in a duel.

Sunrise Studios Pitch: SP//dr: Amazing Armored Hero
Here it is, the Peni Parker pitch. I talked about this ages ago during the SP//dr OEL/Amerimanga pitch, but I haven't really said anything about it since. I've had this technically finished for months now, I've just been sitting on it, but I've gotten impatient and I just want to put it out now. In accordance with my new practice, I'm pitching this specifically to Sunrise, due to it's heavy anime inspirations and origin ITTL as an OEL. I'd also like to note that I'm trying to reduce/be more discerning about who I give writing credits to/what I give to Mavis, which has led to the creation of other OC's and will also involve some retconning(something y'all will see soon with The SCP Files Season 3 pitch). Despite that, I've decided to keep Mavis as the writer for the show and I did this for a couple reasons, even though I initially started it out just to bolster her writing credits. For one, I'd like to continue her seemingly growing specialization in Sci-Fi, especially since it contrasts nicely with her daughter, who I've characterized as being really into Fantasy and will grow up to become a Fantasy author. Secondly, I realized that the story I had set up for Peni, and specifically her ever looming struggle with being forced to grow up too quickly and the crushing weight of responsibility, actually lined up really well with Mavis' history as single, teen mom, so I wanted to keep it as something she writes. I decided to include a couple of extra images in the pitch, although there were a lot of others that I had really wanted to include, but ended up going with these. Feel free to use them as visual aids. For the voice of Peni, I had originally set it to Kath Souci, but I wasn't really feeling it, so I consulted @overmind and he suggested Mary Kay Bergman or Tress MacNeille. I ultimately decided to go with Tara Strong as primary casting and keeping Bergman as alternate voice casting. For Aunt May, I decided to go with Jodi Benson to align with her being younger here. Uncle Ben, being the Gendo(I think, I haven't actually watched Evangelion) to Aunt May's Misato, is voiced by Maurice LeMarche. Addison Brock is voiced by none other than Cree Summer, while the male MJ is voiced by Kirby Morrow, the voice of Cyclops from X-Men Evolution. Norman Osborn has Tim Curry as primary casting, while Tony Jay is on alternate, and Nathaniel Essex(Mr Sinister) is voiced by Christopher Britton, who voiced the character in the OTL X-Men the Animated Series from the 90s. These are not all the characters who'd be appearing, but I didn't want to develop this world wholesale, because that's what I'd have had to do, given the utter lack of Peni Parker material, and what does exist is incredibly shallow in content. It's not ultimately that big of a deal and it would be better served simply alluding to other characters and plots, I think. No need to get into the weeds. It's also why I decided to forgo character descriptions, as I didn't want to commit to anything that I would later regret or would prefer to change. The reason for Nathaniel Essex and Norman Osborn's inclusions are because Mr. Sinister, or Red Diamond as he's referred to in the issues, is just about the only real villain we're shown in any of the actual Peni Parker stories. I thought he'd make for an excellent villain and one of the primary antagonists. I included Norman Osborn because I just thought it made sense, given that Peni works for Oscorp. Something I wanted to make note of is actually that after talking about it with @Kaiser Chris a while back, I've decided that I'm going to be including Big Hero 6 as part of the Peni Parker setting to help flesh it out and add a little more substance to that world. As stated in the previous Amerimanga pitch for Sp//dr, I'm aiming for a darker series and tone, taking IRL cues from stuff like Evangelion, as per it's real life inspiration. Since this intro is getting a bit too long, I'll just refer you back to the SP//dr: Amazing Armored Hero manga pitch for reference as to what I'm talking about, as well as encouraging y'all to ask questions. I'd be more than happy to answer any y'all have about the series. As an aside, I also decided to color the title for no reason, just felt like it. Without further ado, I hope you enjoy!

Turn 103 (January 1983)
Turn 103 (January 1983)

You looked at the man across from you and wondered just what the hell you did to deserve this bullshit.

It was because you looked at Mike and Sid both looking like they were ready to kill each other. The animosity that was between the two men was legendary, ever since Mike decided to hitch his horse with your own after Sid and his cronies ignored his calls.

The stories that spread around the office got wilder every time it was told, and honestly, you enjoyed the crazy bullshit that was spread, from a meeting gone wrong to an offer that Mike turned down because he was unhappy with the offer.

To your favorite, somehow getting an early script of Star Wars… which was the most stupid of them all as only two scripts existed and George had it. But considering Mike's own ideas and love of Star wars, and the money it made, you let it spread whenever you did interviews.

But sid was undeterred. "Mike, Bruce."

"Sid." You replied.

Mike said nothing. He only glared at the man who had slowly become a hated enemy. You may dislike Sid for his scummy business practices and handling of several projects you and George worked on…

But Mike's hatred was something akin to a blood feud.

You approved. "Well Gentlemen, I think we can make something credible. We know that-"

"Yes and your spies have already been thrown out too. Same with Ruperts." Mike said.

"I have no idea-" Sid started.

"Don't take me for a fucking idiot. I'm not you." Mikes words were almost clearly pointed at him, an Sid did not approve of it.

"You're right I'm not. But I do know that Star Wars will come soon, and we've already adjusted for that." He replied.

"So why are you here?" You asked.

"I wanted to see what Mike's new contract siad, see if I could persuade him that-" Sid than stopped and sighed. "Clearly I underestimated that he did not have a lust for more power, which surprised me."

Mike only glared. "You should have seen what he wanted… 10%, I wondered just how George managed to take a pay cut and lose all that power he has over you and George."

Mike only smiled. "Well you seem to forget something Sid, something that most people fail to ever have."

"And what is that?"

"Bruce and George trusted me." Mike smiled. "And thats something you will never fucking have Sid, so if you don't have anything else to say, get out of my office."

Sid excused himself and you looked to Mike. "The Mike I knew would have never been so angry?"

"The Mike you know, may be an asshole, but he's also loyal to his friends." He replied. "And to the bottom line."

"You know my daughter thinks your a loot goblin who is only interested in money, power and fame…"

"Well, your daughter is half right." Mike said.

"What Part?" You asked.

"That's for you to find out." Mike replied.

(AN: God dammit Mike stop trying to become the Main character. You are already becoming the ensemble Darkhorse… You made Overmind Like you, and he hated you.)

I'm confused, what exactly is the intent of this action? Are we restricting the creators or giving them support? What does being coddled mean?

I posted the wrong action draft, but basically, they are all wanting to work together on a project and are butting heads and you can just show up, choose a pitch you want to chose, and have them focus on that.

Do we even actually need a plan? I was under the impression that Magoose was saying that this is for choosing what game we want them to make, at which point I'd say we either start with something that we can afford to score low on in order to test the waters, like Ballblazers or some other OTL LucasArts game, or we go all-in with something like Final Fantasy.

To remind you, that Final Fantasy is still in development at the Japan office of Lucas Arts.

There is nothing going on in the American branch because unlike the Japan office, its a cow boy operation that dosen't have any semblance of control, or leadership, its just a bunch of programers that are dicking around and doing whatever they want that is fun.

Can you confirm whether this meant to have a plan or if it's just choosing a game for the US branch to make?

Wait what? I thought that they would at least be working on Mr. Goemon or at least Megaman!

Frak, we need to establish a pecking order pronto, otherwise LucasArts of America is going to become a sibsidiary of LucasArts of Japan instead of the other way around.

Also, guys, I have some ideas for movies that we could, and should, go for this turn, but first, we should try and get Rock and Rule for distribution. It should not take that much from our films since it's an animated one, and it's surprisingly good at that (though it is somewhat mature).
Thanks for the swift reply.

@Kaiser Chris Alright, with that in mind, what do you think? Maybe Fractalus? It should be a good middle ground between innovative and safe enough to test the waters of the LucasArts process.
If I may suggest something, I think if we went for that game you pitched just a little while ago, the one with the fencing, it would make for an interesting project for LucasArts America.

Nidhogg I think it was called?
