Lights... Camera... ACTION!!: A Hollywood Quest

IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT
Hi Magoose here one of the guys helping Duke.

So we have some bad news.

The quest has been canceled as duke does not want to write it anymore.

I'm going to ask if I can take over for it, because I like this quest, and it would be a shame to kill it
TBF, Mags, you have been doing a lot of the heavylifting for the quest, so this will be in good hands. :)

To be clear to everyone, this is just me burning out on imagination of the quest, since my muse has been hitting me over the head a lot with so many different ideas that I just can't find myself too interested in this.

I'll still hang out here, though, since this still does have a sepcial place in my heart.

I'd like to thank you all for making this a wonderful experience while it lasted.

I'd also like to thank @Magoose, @Fluffy_serpent, and @Martin Noctis for doing so much to help prepare and write this quest. I couldn't have done it without you all. :D

I'll see you all around.

With so many regards, Duke William Of.

Okay guys, seriously, we need to hire more writers or give our pitches to Carrie to get more scripts. So many of our good pitches can't be done and we need the movies pronto!!

Agreed. But in the meantime have some possibilities

Jordan Mechner of Prince of Persia fame is a computer game developer / Writer IRL who ITL now works for Lucasfilm. Does that count as one?

and @Magoose Did you say something about an upgrade to let us choose which scripts get written ?

Wait, @Magoose what happened to the budgets? In my post the budgets are clearly there, but they don't appear on the list.

DreamWorks Movie Pitch: The Incredibles
Alright then, hope this is to your liking @Magoose. I was unsure as to whether go for the 90s or 2000s, but I think the actor selection can work for both...with the exception of the kids; we'll have to recast them if we try and do the movie before or after the middle of the 90s.

Thus, I give you:

DreamWorks Movie Pitch:
The Incredibles

GENRE: Action/Adventure/Comedy

SUBGENRE: Family/Drama/Thriller

FORMAT: Animated Movie

Set Up: Fed up with the local masked crime fighters and superheroes, the people of Metroville have decided they can do without them. As a result, fifteen long years and several lawsuits later, once-popular super-strong defender Bob Parr and his exceptional elastomer-limbed wife Helen now lead an ordinary suburban life as civilians with their equally extraordinary three kids. However, a mysterious invitation jolts Bob into action. Little does Mr. Incredible realize that he'll soon be in the cross-hairs of a conspiracy involving all the world's superheroes.

Director: Brad Bird
Composer: Michael Kamen

Bob Parr/Mr. Incredible: He is the husband of Helen Parr, and formerly the superhero known as "Mr. Incredible". He possesses superhuman strength, stamina, and durability. He was sued by different people for his actions when saving them. These lawsuits led the government to initiate the Superhero Relocation Program. Bob found forced retirement difficult, and resorted to sneaking out at nights with his best friend Lucius Best to continue his now-illegal super heroics. He was shocked to discover that his "Number 1 fan", Buddy Pine, had recreated himself as the supervillain Syndrome after Mr. Incredible had squelched Pine's wish to be his ward in an attempt to protect him.

Played By: Craig T. Nelson
Alternate: Mel Gibson

Helen Parr/Elastigirl: She is the wife of Bob Parr, and formerly the superheroine known as "Elastigirl". She can stretch any part of her body up to 300 feet and can be 1 mm thin. She can also reshape her body in a variety of ways. In her early years she seemed to be a feminist and had no desire to "settle down". Since her marriage to Bob, Helen has become a dedicated spouse and mother, although she is frustrated with her husband's continuing dreams of glory. Her sharp wit and superb espionage skills, as well as her experience as a superhero, make her an excellent tactician and leader.

Played By: Holly Hunter
Alternate: Sally Field

Dash Parr: He is a 10-year-old who has speed powers. While he is only as strong as the average boy, he also has "enhanced durability" which is implied by the amount of incidental high-speed collisions and crashes Dash endures without apparent injury. Dash would like to go out for sports, but his mother Helen will not allow it because she thinks that he would show off his superspeed and blow the family's civilian cover. Dash's reckless and impulsive nature and one-track mind have put him at odds with Violet's gloomier and more sarcastic nature more often than their parents would like, but when Dash is in battle, he cares deeply; willing to attack a fully grown man who was about to kill his sister.

Played By: Andrew Garfield
Alternate: Jake Gyllenhaal

Violet Parr: She is a 14-year-old junior high school teenager stuck at the crossroads between girl and woman. Violet desperately wants to be like everyone else, to blend in with normal people, and not to stand out. Her superpowers allow her to turn instantly invisible, and to generate spherical force fields to protect herself and also to levitate extremely heavy objects. She struggles with her shyness and lack of confidence, but is spurred on by Helen's encouragement that she has more power than she realizes and that she just has to believe it. In the end, Violet sheds her shyness and ends up at the confident side when her crush Tony Rydinger asks her for a date.

Played By: Christina Ricci
Alternate: Winona Ryder

Lucius Best/Frozone: He is a long-time friend of the Parr family, Bob Parr's best friend, and was the best man at Bob and Helen's wedding. Frozone has the power to freeze water, or even ambient moisture in the air. He is limited by the amount of water available, either in liquid form, or in the air. It is also indicated that he can use the moisture of his own body, and that dehydration weakens his abilities as a result. It is suggested that he has adapted to civilian life much more easily than his long-time friend, Bob Parr, though he still possesses a hidden cache containing his costume and all of his old gadgets in working condition.

Played By: Keith David
Alternate: Laurence Fishburne
Buddy Pine/Incrediboy/Syndrome: He is the former #1 fan of Mr. Incredible, yet he became bitter and disillusioned when he was sent back to his mother with the police and harshly told he worked alone. He then recreated himself as an evil genius called Syndrome who planned to exact revenge on his former idol, whom he now regards as his nemesis. He started by having his assistant Mirage lure a series of "Supers" to his lair on Nomanisan Island under the cover of a job offer so that his Omnidroids can be improved by killing each one.

Played By: Charlie Schlatter
Alternate: Jim Carrey

Mirage: She is Syndrome's seductive right-hand woman. Though she has no superhuman abilities, she has extensive computer and espionage skills. She is amoral to the point where she assists with Syndrome's systematic murder of the Supers, however she had a change of heart when Syndrome shows callous disregard for Elastigirl and the children on board the plane, and later on after he takes a gamble on her life, daring an imprisoned Mr. Incredible to kill her. She subsequently frees Mr. Incredible, and helps his family escape the island.

Played By: Kathleen Turner
Alternate: Elizabeth Peña

Edna Mode: She is an eccentric fashion designer who designs the costumes for many members of the superhero community. To that end, not only does she take the aesthetics of the clothes into account, but also their practical uses such as protective qualities and accommodation to the powers of the wearer. She refuses to do capes though. When Bob visits Edna to get his old super suit patched up, she is inspired to create new suits for the entire family, including Jack-Jack even though he has not yet exhibited any powers.

Played By: Brad Bird
Alternate: Lily Tomlin
Rick Dicker: He is a government agent who was once part of the NSA (National Supers Agency) and now oversees the Superhero Relocation Program. He's usually grumpy due to Bob's constant slip-ups which cause more work for him.

Played By: Bud Luckey

Gilbert Huph: He is Bob Parr's diminutive, strict supervisor at his insurance company Insuricare. His main priority at Insuricare is its profits despite concerns from the company's staff or its customers.

Played By: Wallace Shawn

Bernie Kropp: He is a teacher at Dash Parr's school, on whom Dash regularly pulls pranks. After sitting on a tack placed on his seat at his desk, Kropp sends Dash to the principal's office.

Played By: Paul Williams

Mrs. Hogenson: She is an old woman who is upset that her insurance claim is being denied. Bob surreptitiously aids her by telling her how to solve her issue, while pretending he cannot.

Played By: Jean Sincere

Tony Rydinger: He is a junior high school teenager, attending the same school as Violet Parr. Violet harbors a secret crush on him. In the end, with boosted confidence, Violet manages to attract Tony's attention and he asks her out on a date, which she accepts.

Played By: James Marsden

Jack-Jack Parr: He is the Parrs' infant son, the youngest of the Parr children. Initially believed to be the only family member without any powers, he manifests a multitude of superhuman abilities at the end.

Played By: E.G. Daily

A.N.: I have really fond memories of this movie, though not so much with the sequel. So, if possible, I'd hope we can make some changes to it when the time comes. Also, I'm keeping Brad Bird as the voice of Edna Mode, because he nailed it!

It's what ?,the third time e get an invention that make billions ?,in the 80s/70s how is mike still worried about money ?,also are we in the fortune 500 ?

Can I know about it please
It's a mod for eu4 based on "what if eu4 was a dnd setting" It's a bit long to talk about the entire setting. But some keynotes are
"Not Europe" is coming off a huge war against an invading orc army.
a rush to colonize the abandoned lands leads to a war between adventurers and the remaining orc tribes.
Magic and gunpower becoming more common leads to a age of Witch kings where the rich use magic and firearms to strengthen their grip on power and that's followed by a age of Artifacers where magitech starts to become common place.

So weird thought.

I'm just imagining that in the Matrix (Or one of its sequels if they get made) Bruce is probably going to play someone really cool.

Bonus Points if he's called "Old Man" despite only being in his late 40s early 50s.

Perhaps the first one to break out of the matrix?

I could definitely see Bruce playing as a program designed to act as a sort of virus, emulating the first individual to break free from the matrix.

I mean that would require something of a story reason? Interesting in its own way Because we know the Kid from the Animatrix is the only one to break himself out of the Matrix (To our knowledge)

I'd actually see him as something of a Mentor/philisophical counterweight in terms of explaining a little idea I've thought of.

"The Homo-Sapian of Before the Matrix and the Homo-Sapian after the Matrix are the cut-off point of Life on earth, one built by an illusionary being they made to conceptualize the evolution and gaining of consciousness. HIS...image They did not have a creator so they made one to sooth their mind into the reality of the chaotic mudball they crawled out of, The Thermodanimic Miricle, some call it. If they had a God...he must truly hate them without leaving a note.

Man painstakingly crafted us in their own image...like the molding of clay and the breath of life. Then like a cell of an organism adapted and changed to fit tasks, and they didn't like how we "Polluted" their image, became better, efficient...STRONGER! So like an angry god from the heavens they came to strike us down and cast us into the fires...but this was not their world...it was ours.

The Man who was born After the Matrix, the world you live in...is ours...you may share the same DNA, the same neurochemistry of the apes that once walked the earth as your ancestors did...but make no mistake. You were made in OUR Image...of memories perhaps of our fallen creators but still in the image we made. From each node in your body to the feeling of cold pleasure when the jack is in your skull."
