Yeah, Protector seems to be a really strong Trait, one that maintains the good things about Pacifist while buffing out the bad things (Like a dislike for fighting).
I don't mind the dislike of fighting. In the future we are unlikely to use it as a first resort. For the moral reason and the pragmatic reason that we have huge bonuses to talking so it is more likely to work and being at low power levels in no way reduces our gift for gab.

Still very nice to get rid of those train penalties.

In thatcase, it might be better if @PoptartProdigy changed the surname Somerlad instead of correcting the update. That way his father would be Valentine Valentine of Trasteia instead of Valentine Somerlad.

Or just leave it like that in the update:

Berra: Karen, take Mister Valentine home.
Jaron: Mister Valentine is my father. Please call me Jaron.
Berra: Nah, Mr. Valentine is fine. It wouldn't be polite otherwise.
Jaron: No, I mean... Valentine is dad's name and my own is Jaron, not Valentine, that is...
Berra: Did you say anything?
Valentine: No, sir!
Too late. :p

So, it's been a while since I've posted here, but I have been reading the updates. I just want to jump in here to say, I'm good with the new trait.

It's a good compromise between the pacifism and anti pacifism groups.

Now we can be a diplomatic hero without being totally useless in a fight. *thumbs up*

Traits Developed! Pacifist+Open-Armed-->Protector: Meerak forced you to confront the question of what kind of person you really are. It was a painful year, figuring out the answer, but now you have it. You have your powers so that you can keep people safe. Everybody. Even those who don't want to be. People who are working to hurt others need to be stopped, but that doesn't mean you need to sink to their level. At the end of the day, the wicked need to be stopped, but you aren't them -- and you won't become them. That might mean that you need to talk them down, or it might mean that you need to fight. So be it. But no matter what, you know one thing about yourself: Thou shalt not kill. You gain heavy vote weighting against the use of lethal force on sapient beings, and will never default to it of your own will, even against Hated Enemies. The use of lethal force will never be presented as a default option; the players must write such options in if they want them. However, Kakara now gains a moderate bonus on all checks made in service of actions taken to protect the lives or safety of others. You no longer encounter barriers or penalties to combat skill training. This trait may, still, be developed further...

Alright, this is basically the ideal outcome for Reflective. It's all "Something To Protect" and stuff, and it is preferable to the noble but pragmatically difficult Pacifist.

[X] What will be

Going with this for now. Future knowledge just seems insanely useful, something we cannot obtain by any means more reliable than prediction. If we could get a free vision of Cell doing Perfect Multiform, then maybe, but for now I'm sticking with this.

Really looking forward to making our Year 5 time budget. Need to train Tien's publically, research PM privately, adapt Operation Jaffur to these new circumstances, and prepare for the invasion while trying to conduct some sort of negotiation with the scouts.

[X] What will be

Frankly, while it's likely to be unreliable, we've been blindsided so many times lately that a future vision is damn appealing right about now.

[X] What was.

So, does this mean we have authorization from Dad to teach our friends about Ki? There is no way they aren't asking us about how we can do all this stuff.

The ki secret is shattered, completely. You don't need permission from him anymore.

Now it's a matter of convincing their Garenhulder parents to let you do something new and untested with their children.
From the fact that we spent two actions on Sensei and a single conversation isn't really an action.
Bringing somebody into a vast conspiracy is not just a conversation, I assure you. You also spent time running between Sensei and the others, getting him linked properly into the plot.

Ok so we spent the time linking up two conspiracies. Do we know a bunch of Seers now?
By acquaintance, yes. Mostly Sensei is your point of contact.
Can´t we convince them to keep it a secret from their parents? I'd rather not, but it is a possibility right?
You could, although the parents might make the connection between all that time they spend with you and your very public appearance fighting aliens today. ;)

Thanks. I'd rather not keep it a secret anyway, not only would dad be opposed to teaching someone without their parents consent, it would probably also eat up a yearly action slot due to having to find time to practice in secret. Not to mention the consequences of being caught.
If we do try to convince the parents, can we decide how we do it? Through either a good argument, deceit, stuff like that?

The question is what use would the misfits have for ki powers.

Edit: Well Learning to fly is likely worthwhile all by itself. Still if we do better living through ki we will be able to share a bunch of useful tricks.

Be it the alien boss reaction to the transmission the scout leader was doing or Dandeer asking pointed questions to Jaron or the reactions of hummies involved with us, they all seem useful.

And I mean that at least some of them are likely to reach this conclusion via inductive reasoning, whether it's true or not.

Hell, one of the Misfits' parents already has- namely, Dandeer. Granted that she has an unfair advantage in that regard, but still.

We're a Diplomancer. We'll convince them.

Their parents: No!
Them: Please?
Their parents: No way!
Us: Please?
Their parents: Never!
Us: *Powers up to 100,000 and flares visible aura* Ka-me-ha-me-please?
Them: Uh....ok!

Dandeer has, but Dandy (I don't know what her Masqued name is, or if it has even been mentioned. From now on, she's 'Dandy' to me.) hasn't. So far as Jaron knows.
