[X][ORDERS] Do as Dad said, and glue yourself to Jaron throughout the fight.
[X][IFF] Engage only those scouts which you can confirm as actively hostile.
[X][AIM] Fight to withdraw you and your friends from the press and help the teams protecting the civilians.

Probably, and I doubt it will, and I'm not that worried about it. I think suddenly powering up by 100-200 thousand more points wouldn't be the worst thing we could do.* But we can probably pull this off without doing so, assuming the reinforcements do as Berra expects, and assuming Kakara doesn't try anything too ambitious.

*For that matter, convincing Maya that our power levels DO still rise, and that we tend to get stronger or pull miracles out of our hats in a crisis, would be very helpful. We really need to display power levels a bit closer to Maya's in the near future; the next time Karen and Maya are put to the test, we may need a power level significantly over 500,000 just to not be an active liability on a battlefield that credibly challenges Maya. At this rate she'll break a million before the year is out...

And while I can accept Karen playing Vegeta or Piccolo to Maya's Goku for the sake of the Masquerade, I'm damned if I'll settle for Karen playing Krillin or Yamcha to Maya's Goku.
We are still raising it, just at a slower rate than her. We are to be like the second or third strongest in the planet. At our current PL we still win against her because of skill even though she is nominally 50% stronger.

I think part of the idea is to have her be a bar of how high a ki mutant can reasonably go and still be considered human so that no saiyan exceed it. By the time she hits a million we should hit something between 650k and 700k

Humans don't have an upper limit, and she has Saiyan growth rates. I'll be surprised if she doesn't hit a billion by the time she's 20.

@Gore17 Not sure about the 1.5 Million part, isn't the highest Dad has shown Maya and the aliens only 1 million?
That's very much a "in case of emergency, break glass" thing I put in. I don't expect it to be necessary, but always best to leave a generous measure of slack, and I do expect Kakara to go about it smartly. And we can pass it off as a Willpower push, as has been previously noted.

If that is still insufficient? Time to abort, and let Berra handle it. Which I don't expect to happen, but who knows, maybe the leader has a secret 20 million transformation hiding up their metaphorical sleeve.

You do realize we win this thing, right? That is not in doubt, it says so in the vote. Dad also brought people so we likely outnumber the scouts already. There is no need to show multiform, we have enough people. Also, if we succeed in diplomacy, that makes only 5 scouts against our reinforcements which should make things like protecting civvies easier for the rest.

Winning does not equal a perfect success.

So, I'm not all that up on Dragon Ball lore, but would a fighting style based around brief spikes (to and above PL limit) when attacking and defending work (or does one already exist)?

Question, what if we just give every Saiyan on the planet to power up to 500,000? Only Maya will be able to tell, and since we've got a sorceror on hand anyways...could wipe her.

I have been told that a power level difference of 10% corresponds to +30 on die rolls, and 20% corresponds to +60 on die rolls.

Even if that's NOT a linear effect, and having a power level 50% greater than your opponent is ONLY worth, say, +90 on the dice... I am not at all sure Karen would win against Maya at their current power levels.

Yeah, I'm not seeing the point of doing this even given that it's totally possible.

Maya is far worse then us at Flight, Ki Control and Ki Sensing, has no Ki attacks, is only talented at dueling and 780,000 requires focus on her part.

Fairly sure we could outlast her.

I'm not going to say it's a sure thing. I can at least believe that Kakara's vastly superior training compensates for being at 2/3 of an opponent's power level.

But especially if you're right about power level differentials being linear (in which case Maya gets +150 on die rolls relative to us), I would really, really not want to bet on us winning that fight without powering up.

EDIT: Note that I am okay with the idea of Maya being able to take us in a fight, at least while we're laboring under self-imposed power restrictions. But I don't think we need to restrict our power so far that she could be confident of defeating us. Not least because if we restrict our power level that far, then if Maya runs into a situation where she is in trouble, we're going to have to pull extra power out of thin air in order to be able to do anything useful to help her. Which will always, always raise questions.

It's much more straightforward to just spar with her normally and show our (nerfed) power level increasing until it's within, say, 10-20 percent of hers. Maybe even cross her power level briefly, so she has an incentive to keep really pushing herself. We don't want her to get overconfident now that she's clearly stronger than the average alien (scout).

Yeah, this is the plan, methinks.

...Really, no one else is going for the multiform? :(

Normally? Yes. There's no chance Dad doesn't know we have it, and this would be a great use of it.

But Maya's here. So far she knows we can teleport, in addition to all the ki stuff she can do.

I don't want to have to explain away another ability as well as the number of ki-using fighters she's going to be seeing. That leads us far too close to her having to guess 'secret order of ki users who are everywhere' instead of 'there's like, 15 of us on the planet'.

Adding another ability that we'll have to explain strains credulity even further (though no so far as the real truth, mind).

Our deceit sucks. Let's lie as little as practical. until we get speechcraft, which Kakara cannot fail at.

*raises eyebrow* Last time I checked, we weren't concerned of alerting her to the number of Ki users, and blew that secret already with her? And there's the fact that we're almost certainly going public after this. 1st layer of the Masquerade is broken.

Eh, I bet the Saiyans can contain this breech. There's at least half a dozen ways I can think of, some of them obviously not going to happen, but some are at least plausible. There's Seers and Sorcerers, not to mention people capable of Mind Delve (and possibly worse mental abilities).

And no, so far as Maya knows there's exactly 4 ki users on the planet: her, us, Dad, and the guy who was fighting the scout. At this point, she also knows there's something up with Jaron. But while she's doubtless guessed there's at least a few more, that hasn't been confirmed for her.

.
Berra: We need to deal with the witnesses.:ninja:
Kakara: Dad, you can't! There are too many of them.:o
Berra: But there are more saiyans than them.;)
Kakara: You don't mean...o_O
Berra: To marry them all to saiyans? Yes.
Kakara: There are hundreds of them!
Berra: There are more of us! :)Bring out the beefcake! The eyecandy too! :lol I shall oversee this proyect personally.

And it was thus that Berra achieved Elite communication and the breaking of the sealing happened while he was otherwise preocupied.

Kakara: Why does it always end like this?

That's certainly one way.

EXPLOSION ROCKS LOCAL TOWN
By JB McCloud
The small town of Horus Bay is in mourning today as an explosion, apparently the work of local Tastreyan terrorists, has completely destroyed a local elementary school. It seems that a bomb threat, or perhaps small initial explosions warned the student body, as there is evidence that the explosion happened while most of the faculty, staff, and students were outside.

Sadly, the explosive device - which has yet to be positively identified - created a large enough blast that there were very few survivors. Most of the survivors, who seem to have been a class that was clustered at the outskirts of the crowd, are unable to comment coherently, having suffered delusions. No doubt this was caused by the trauma of seeing their friends and teachers murdered in cold blood by the Tastreyans.

Not even their own people were spared. Jaron Somerland, 12, is listed among the students 'missing, presumed dead'. Jaron and his family moved to Horus Bay from Tastreya not terribly long ago. His mother, father, and remaining siblings could not be reached for comment. In addition, police officers attempting to deliver the news to the Somerland family found the house empty, with significant amounts of materials on-hand which experts say could have been used in the construction of explosives.

Did the Somerlands commit an act of domestic terrorism? Did they, in fact, have their own son bring the device to his school? How could young Jaron have snuck such a device into the school?

This reporter doesn't have the answers you all seek, but I'm sure the coming days will see a firm new policy in the ongoing suppresion of our rebellious region, and tighter security at our schools. The thoughts of the nation are with Horus Bay, and I think I speak for all of us when I say we should nuke those bloodthirsty, completely amoral Tastreyans back into the stone age.

Like I said, some ways are bloodier than others.
