Yes. It is heavily implied in the Namek arc that every one of freeza's flunkies was such a being. Saiyans are weird because all of them are natively low level champions.

Mutaito style ki training seems to be unique to earth and the Otherworld.
Well, it's a big galaxy; it would hardly be surprising if there are some planets out there with Mutaito-esque ki-warrior training traditions. The thing is, without an outside stimulus from the "big guns" on the galactic scene... well, Mutaito and his students had power levels on the order of a thousand (that is to say, 100 is 'low' and 10,000 is 'really high').

At least in the DBZ era, I get the feeling that most local planetary ki warriors (if any) didn't go above that level. To do that, you need to have access to exotic training (e.g. King Kai), be some kind of mutant (e.g. Frieza), or be a saiyan (see previous).

You're still Karen. Kakara has not had any time in the spotlight.

And Karen goes to school.
Karen also just flew in public, negotiated with aliens and seems connected to an unknown group that had captured one of said aliens previously. Absolutely best case, she'll be viewed as a hero, and the Aramaian government will be open to talks with Berra. Worst case, witch-hunt. I mean, unless Berra can cover all this up, but the logistics of that boggle my mind.

I was expecting for mum to be forced to homeschool us. Because gods-damnit, her daughter is getting an education. :p

I somehow doubt that Berra will tolerate the Aramaians endorsing a witch hunt. In fact, I imagine that it will be his insistence that they actively suppress such.

And Berra can do whatever he needs to in order to ensure that his wishes on the matter are granted.

But yes, this is one of the reasons he tends to want Kakara to not be involved in things. He doesn't want these complications for her, and her life is about to get a lot more complicated.

But he'll do whatever he can to minimize them, which includes making sure she's able to go to school.

what a good father

Generally speaking, but when the chips are down and the stakes are highest, we know just how bad of a father he can really be.

EDIT: There was also the time after the Sealing where our relationship with him began deteriorating. There we saw more of him being a bad father. The relationship then improved only because of concerted effort on our part. He was receptive to it, but that we were the initiator instead of the receiver is telling.

My opinion is that school is a vital tether to normality and our friends. I would vote to attend even if we didn't have to.

I'm inclined to forgive him that one because he had no goddamn clue what to do, and it was understandable on his part to think that he was the adult-in-the-right and we were the crazy-for-no-damn-reason child.

Berra is a good father. He is not a perfect father, in that he is neither omniscient nor infinitely competent in his dealings with his daughter. But he is a good father.

Oh, interesting fact. Break Through the Limit is on page 512, and Princess Kakara is on page 524. And we're only a few pages away from 536...

Anyone else want to make a pattern? :p

Go back and read those parts.

He tried to reach out and we were the ones that rejected him

How big a bonus do we get to our communication roll anyway? In total.
IIRC, a positive skill rank is +10, so with Talented we have +20. We have 4 small and 2 medium bonuses from traits, and I believe small bonuses grant either +5 or +10, with moderate bonuses granting double that. So likely either +40 or +80 from trait bonuses. Together, that equals +60 or +100. +100 fits with the communication roll result we saw in the update, but we may be getting circumstances bonuses as well, so can't say for sure.

Greater bonuses from omakes/artwork grant +10 as well, so at minimum, we're at +70, and at maximum, our bonus is 110+.

If it wasn't for Reflective disabling them, we'd have an additional +15/+30 as well.

For comparison, I'm fairly sure Berra has, at max, +120 to his roll while fighting a single opponent in hand-to-hand combat by himself, if it's in service to the right thing(in his mind). At least with the traits we know about.
