I've tried to shill for Gohan style before, but I think most people who want a style want Tien first for the Multiform and lack of any penalties.

W.r.t Gohan style/Jaffurs technique, when I asked Poptarts about whether or not Jaffurs technique came from Endivan (used Gohan style, defeated a Super Saiyan), his response was thus:

Oh hell, Im not against that at all: Tien Style should allow for us to pick up a number of really fun tricks that can be useful either in or out of combat. Im just thinking that combining that with better Ki Projection could let us make openings and then exploit them.

Okay, so here's a status update. My wife and I have purchased a house. This has made me very busy, and I'm only going to become more busy as time goes on; the house needs a bit of work, so we'll be quite occupied with that in the days to come. That being said, I should have some time free in the next few days. I'll hopefully be able to get the update out soon. Then again, I've said that before...

    "Nothing substantive. He was rather nervous about establishing what our rules are for ethical treatment of prisoners. I let him sweat on it."

    "Oh."

    You think about that for a second, worry mounting.

    "...Dad, we don't have those, do we?"

    "We do not, officially. I've been researching some of the Garenhulders' codes, but we have no formal obligations as of now. Don't worry, though. I'm not going to harm him."

    "...thank you."

    "Of course. Other than that, he asked how we knew his people are coming. I rebuffed him. What you heard is everything relevant. He only really started talking once you arrived; everything before that was him trying to establish ground rules to feel secure in."

    You blink, feeling very off-guard. You're not used to Dad talking like this. "Um...okay...well, in that case, with what we know now, I think we should say yes."

    "Why is that?"

    "Better than having to chase them all, right?"

    Dad falls silent for a moment, mulling the idea over. At last, he nods. "Good reasoning. As it happens, I agree. I'll take him to the Hall and wait for him to wake up. Once he does, we can start relaying his messages to his team." He hefts Meerak where the alien lays on your father's shoulder. "Now, unless he's much different from humans or us, he'll be waking up momentarily. I should go." He raises his fingers to his head.

    You reach out. "But what do I do? Do I just...wait?"

    "Take some time off of work," says Dad, shrugging. "Goodness knows you could use it after this disruption. Just take some time to relax before getting back into the groove."

    You gape. "But Dad, I have a schedule!"

    To your indignation, he chuckles. "Oh I know, trust me. I know."

    You grumble to yourself in frustration. Your parents are being so weird today. Well, whatever. You have a schedule to attend to, and you...

    ...um...

    ...what was next on your schedule, again?

    ...crapbaskets, this whole mess threw off your whole schedule for the day. You're supposed to be training Maya by now! But she's at home and making excuses; if you show up it'll just be weird!

    You freeze up, eyes wide as you suddenly contemplate the yawning gulf of a block of time that has no applicable schedule attached to it. You hear a high-pitched whine, and belatedly realize that it's you, holding back a shrill scream of frustrated organization.

    Crapbaskets. You hate these scouts.


    So, what to do?

    [ ] THE SCHEDULE MUST BE PRESERVED. GO TO MAYA'S NOW AND GET BACK ON TRACK. YOU CAN COME UP WITH SOMETHING (immediately recommence our progress through this year's actions).
    [ ] Okay, okay, this is fine. Just go see somebody else. Fennella? Yeah, her. She would have felt the fight, she probably wants to chat (mini-event socializing with Fennella).
    [ ] Go to the Hall and blow something up. Stupid scouts. (go blow things up to blow off steam; a random person will come to talk to you)
    [ ] Write in literally anything (go do something with the next update, and enjoy a brief event series decompressing from the recent rush before getting back into it).

    I decided to implement this suggestion from a long time ago; just cover some things that aren't life, death, or a critical part of the yearly plan. Just an opportunity to delve into the world beyond its immediate relevance to the yearly routine. Thanks to @Andres110 for the idea, way back when!

    Or you can decide to jump right back in. Up to you all! But otherwise, do whatever you like. The suggested defaults are just very basic examples for the kind of thing that might work.

    And welcome back, everybody. I'm glad to return, and look forward to writing much more in the near future. Enjoy!

    • So two options here for me. One is to just chill out with a friend and unwind, let ourselves unravel a bit. Two is to talk about our current moral crisis and feelings of having failed our ethics to someone both more mature than us and someone we are not keeping secrets from. That last condition sadly means our parents aren't great options, and for me it reduces it down to Sensei and Grandma. I personally think Sensei, as he seems more balanced.
     
    We should probably use some time to allocate to reflection. Is there something we could drop from the yearly schedule if we need to?
     
    Brother needs a thumping and a reminder to keep up. Perhaps we should fill him in on why exactly we weren't able to call him to be a hero today?

    If not for the fact that he is hanging out with the others, I would say use the time to try contact Jaffur.
