I was serious about that Saiyan Masque BTW, any chance we could get our friendly sorcerer to do that? While not outright necessary if we bring her into Exile society, it might ease things.
This fear is unfounded considering Maya has friends that haven't betrayed her, isn't constantly bullied and being shit on by the world and doesn't hate everything. And if she really wanted to do all these horrible things why would she want to do it now compared to in the past where as far as she knew she was the strongest thing on the planet?

Which is nothing like Maya you guys are pulling the worst out of nowhere and acting like she's a ticking time bomb instead of a person that's just shared a secret they've been holding in for years.
*shrugs* fair enough.

Same issue as getting one yourself, in that any given Sorcerer would have to learn the spell, but if that's what you wanted to do I imagine people at large would be accepting enough of it.

Guys, instant way for getting Dad on our side for Jaffur's Sealing or at least making him pause.

We should show him our memory of Gohan agreeing with us that Sealing Jaffur was a mistake.

Blatantly not true. Maya's absolute maximum is 927.
During the Saiyan Saga, Krillin's maximum is 1770, nearly twice her power.
His Namek Saga power was at least 10,000.

You've been making your case there's some hyper-complicated conspiracy or shenaniganry afoot, fine. But don't use blatant falsehoods to try and reinforce your point, please.

-or, I meant to say Saiyan Saga and muddled it because it doesn't matter. A human her age should be less than three.

-and if your not going to read the discussion, don't comment on it.

Why would puberty make someone want to be a superhero when they've never shown a interest before. Also you keep talking like the invasion is gonna reach the planet the thing that our entire society doesn't want to happen, we're gonna fight them in space so that the masquerade doesn't get exposed. If may knows about the invasion then we have fucked up royally and will have bigger things to worry about.

Puberty does weird things, alien invasions do weird things, and she's already thinking of herself as an invincible superpower. A plan only lasts until first contact with the enemy.

More to the point, this isn't about predicting the specific failure mode, it's about realizing that there are a lot of them. Keeping her secret isn't the completely risk-free unadulterated good it has been made out to be.

[X] Plan Water Under the Bridge
[X] Ask Maya what's wrong.
-[X] In fact, hug her again. Couldn't hurt.
--[X] We thought she was keeping it a secret because no-one else could do this, and told us because we can, so we figured she'd be happy to tell Dad since he can do it too.
---[X] But if she doesn't want to tell him, that's fine. It's completely up to her.
----[X] ...But now we've told her that Dad can do it too without him knowing, so she has to keep that a secret too! It's a secret to everyone!
-----[X] If everything is said, done, and resolved, tease her. "So...you think I'm pretty?"

Or I would, if we didn't have a tie! Except that it's a tie between two plans that, as stated, are going to result in the exact same things.

...this is what all of the furor was over? Whatever. Vote remains closed, and the update will be up tomorrow. See you then, folks!

Really? Cool.

We should totally do that then at some point. She'll appreciate being able to spar full out, and her being a 'Saiyan' will mean that we can get her teachers without it being a shock every time.

Assuming she isn't already wearing a masque, she's probably still young enough to regrow her tail, and even if she isn't, if she's anything like her brother she'll just roll a willpower-check to do it anyway.

Jaffur's sister is younger than him. Jaffur is our age and so is Maya. Maya is not Jaffur's sister.

The other one. The one who supposedly died when Vegeta beat her out of the master sorceress with a penchant for duplicity and sealing right before Berra almost tore the planet apart trying to kill his best friend. The one who was placed with a human family near Berra's family for protecting, and who Dandeer has just returned to be near to in what previously seemed an inexplicable decision to get close to Kakara.

That one was in the womb after the Sundering and after Jaffur's living sister was born.

I don't recall a timeline given, only her statement that Vegeta's motivation was that he didn't want another child at the time. That could easily mean that he got the twin he wanted and wanted to force the matter of naming a scion with the seers, assuming that her reference to that wasn't the lie she later apologized to Berra about. Once Jaffur was named, he might well have stopped caring.

This one I'll answer. Jaffur's sister, Dasheer, is his younger sister. Whatever the third child would have been, their death was not a matter of forcing the issue of Scion selection; Scions are named at birth, and thus Jaffur has been Scion since he was born, as have you. You and Jaffur are of an age and his sister is maybe a year and a half younger than him. Thus, she was alive at the time of the Sundering. You and Jaffur were each three years old.

Thus, by the timeline, assuming that Lady Vegeta got pregnant with her third child at around the same interval as she got pregnant with her second, her third child would have either been a newborn or about to be born at the time of the Sundering, assuming that Vegeta waited until the third trimester to force the miscarriage for some reason.

So, a few assumptions required, but Lailoken's theory fits the timeline. Not, of course, that I shall be confirming or denying anything.

Whether Maya is Jaffur's punch-aborted sister or not.
...What. How does that even make sense? Maya is, by accounts, 10 years old, same as us. And I don't know about you, but I've been assuming the forced abortion occurred after the Sundering. Two strikes against that idea.

Anyway, looking back, I see that @Lailoken has been arguing that her personality indicates that she's not human. I would like to point out that the Garenhulders aversion to innovation and curiosity is entirely cultural: humans that have been raised/lived amongst Saiyans and their lack of such an aversion don't have it either. By all rights, a Saiyan raised entirely in such a culture under as Masque would be expected to have the same aversion.

We don't know that Dandeer wasn't lying about the premature birth, she did apologize for lying to Berra and say that he wasn't her champion (because he didn't manage to kill Vegeta?), And she never said the child died.

Maya would have to be younger, but grade school had multiple grades, there's variation in development speed, I don't think we ever actually got an explicit age for Maya, and she is consistently described as small and the little sister. We don't know when the pregnancy was, but Dandeer is a mutual friend and can you think of a more potent trigger for the conflagration?

Which Saiyan-raised humans are you speaking of?

The Garenhuld attitude is not cultural. The culture has changed vastly over the centuries, but this has been a consistent and ubiquitous feature to a degree which far exceeds cultural bias. Even the GM has said that it indicates some significant selective pressure. Quite possibly related to the dead guardian and doubly landlocked ring of dead systems. The Garenhulders aren't curious because the curious ones didn't get the chance to have curious babies.
