True, there is no point in going that far. How about we max our power, let our presence be felt and basically intimidate them into order. We don't want to go too far, since we don't want to give fuel to this whole thing.

Sort of like just a silent warning. Behave, or else.

EDIT: Part of our job is to be a living deterrent. We need to remind them of that.

No. While I don't agree with @Quest 's idea to try and be the one to take control (someone who doesn't really hold to the belief system of the Cult trying to control it seems like a bad idea), trying to just suppress the discussion isn't a good idea, either. It will build resentment.

@PoptartProdigy , please let me know if this is a workable vote.

-[X] Wouldn't that effectively risk putting the Faith under the control of someone a.) not necessarily adhering to it, and b.) who seeks to use the Faith to prop up their secular agenda?

Once I am off work I will make a vote, but I think grandma is too close to this. We can act as an impartial outsider, she can't.
 
One thing we can be certian on is any side we join will get a increase in support due to us being the chief demigod to the cult, so we should be careful with what ever we say
 
I'd like to commit my Cooki (sic, I ate a byte already!) towards whatever action we take to de-escalate this situation.

You're not capable of initiating, but if you get her attention, she'll almost certainly start a conversation. Add a way to get her focus to your vote and you're good.

How about this?

[X] Steadily raise your power level higher and keep it under control, but let it be felt by the room. Draw upon your super-saiyin reserve if you have to, but don't completely transform.
-[X] Consult with your grandmother through mind-speak, but ask her to follow your lead.
-[X] Once everyone calms down, ask them to continue this discussion in a disciplined manner.
-[X] Present your own arguments about the current situation and convince them to table this discussion. It is a clan matter not a Faith one, and that we shall deal with it in our own way.-
-[X] Once this matter is resolved, ask them to resume the conference.

I'm not fully sure on what arguments to use, but the general idea is to use our power to make them quiet down and then convince them with words. We let our power be a reminder of what we can do and who we are, but we use words to convince them because that's the kind of ruler we want to be.

We get a bonus to this action via Decisive, Convictions, possibly Mature, and then we deescalate by talking to them and convincing them. The second part is helped by Oddball, Socializer and Pacifist, not to mention some of the previous mentioned traits.

Plus our reputation as decisive and The Gold means that people will look to us and give weight to what we say.

Thoughts?

@PoptartProdigy What is Dandeer up to?

EDIT: Also, lots of people had stuff to argue about what we felt about Dandeer and what we would advocate. This should be a chance to mention these things and let them know to the public.

Well I see a couple of ways this could go. We could throw our support behind fanatic-grandma, tell her about him and let her handle it. We could flair our power level to the point it shuts everyone up and then oppose it. We could ask where the previous respect has disappeared to. We could start humming the Rains of Castemere House Talt. Not sure yet what I want to support, but am looking forward to the discussion.

It seems we'll get a small boost to de-escalating, but I have to ask if we want that. If we quiet the floor, or do de-escalate, it leaves the ball in the High Priest's court, allowing him to have momentum. We really don't want that.

@KnightDisciple, do you really think telling Grandma that will de-escalate things? She's a fanatic to the bone, and telling her how their house is abusing the faith seems like it will get her to do something crazy.
 
I certainly think it's highly relevant to the current situation. I'm not sure of the best way to introduce the topic, but I think at this point it almost has to be discussed....

This is going to be fun.

How can we defang the latest attempt at taking power without potentially losing our second Saiyan friend. Especially considering Dandeer is involved, otherwise known as the 'button that kicks us up to NUCLEAR'.

We get a bonus to de-escalating, making a snap decision, believing we are in the right, and through unconventional tactics.

The reason I'm going with mine, is because nothing is more unconventional than raw power followed by a discussion.

Bad idea. If the situation was engineered by Celeran, it is because he already thinks he can win that argument by his proxies. The mayority is already clamoring for it too.

It is not just a matter of deescalating. We DON'T want this motion to pass, because it gives someone who follows orders from a house with history of rebellion authority over a fifth of our people.

We need to find a way to stop this or we must inform the authorities. Doing nothing and just letting him get this power is a bad idea and deescalating alone is too since it is likely he will do that too.

Shit, I should have expected this but I hoped we would have more time to gather evidence. We should at least put in doubt that he is the right guy for this or put in doubt the legitimacy of them choosing this course.
 
Out of curiosity, what are the chances of grandma knowing mind delve?:whistle:

I was talking about the situation with the Seal. I meant that wasn't Faith business.

Can we agree about what's going on here?

From what I see, it started with a discussion about the Sealing and Celeran's attitude was not talking about it. Some guy who might be a patsy got them to vote on giving him the authority to talk about it.

My point isn't to challenge him. I intend to basically remind them we were there, shut them up, and tell them that the sealing incident was under the Lord's jurisdiction not the Faith's. Then we tell them to proceed with the Conference.

If the Vegetan tries to argue, we intimidate him into compliance or given that his argument is basically that there is no leader present, argue him back by saying that we will be the mediator.

Do we want to go super saiyin? That's basically a nuclear option and will probably attract Dad's attention. Do we want that?

Plus I want to prove we can do this without resorting to that, with just our base powers and abilities.

That's a terrible idea. Dandeer's right here, and while I don't think she currently suspects we want to unseal Jaffur, mentioning our opinions of her and the sealing will probably make her really suspicious of us.


Maybe we could try to get someone to clarify what exact kind of authority Celeran will be given and how they're gonna do it without angering Berra?

1. It plays to our attributes by being decisive action taken to de-escalate the situation.
2. It puts us in a position of impartial adjudicator
3. It drops the scandal, hopefully swinging enough voters to deny the motion a majority.
