[X] To High Priest Celeran's niece Fennella. No harm in playing along for now. Or maybe he actually is just referring you to somebody about your age.
-[X] Friendly, interested in meeting a new person. Talk about whatever she wants to discuss but switch to food if the conversation goes into something weird like politics.
-[X] Grab a couple of snacks from somewhere and share one with her.

Snacks are the Great Equalizer, the Mighty Friendmaker, the Fantastic Bridge-Builder. ALL HAIL SNACKS!

Talking to the niece could go a few ways. Could be taken as us being side-limed politely, for the before gathering anyway, or finding out who/what she follows, trying to get an in with us through his niece...

*Shrug*

Going to Apra would likely be seen as hiding behind her so to speak.

Lady Vegeta... Would honestly depend on how we left that conversation.

And this dude would be politics. Potentially a good win, but ugh.

-[X] Curious. What is she looking at?
--[X] Is it snacks? Is there a snack vendor over there?

I have no cookies at the moment (might have to fix that) but I think we should put a cookie or three towards Communication for the next scene.

[X] Use public cookie to boost Communications for next scene(s)

Maybe also one towards Deceit. We are playing at politics, right?

Hey, I put up a cookie for public use, feel free to try and get a majority vote for its use.

Actually, all socializer says is that we like talking to people, not that we're actually good at it (I mean, since our Communications skill is Talented, we are good at it too), and when Kakara first interacted with Sophie and the Misfits, she seemed pretty shy.

That case was honestly more, "You've suffered such extreme social isolation to date as to be legitimately traumatized, and your first assumption upon being spoken to is that somebody plans on insulting you for your obvious weakness." Really, the difficult part in writing that scene was in showing how brave Kakara is in overcoming that swiftly. Socializer does in fact say that it grants a small bonus to all Communication checks, though, and that would by extension apply to making a new friend. Finally, to quibble, you are only at present a Competent communicator (remember, you didn't progress it far enough last turn). You're all-but certain to bump it up to Talented and a fair ways up the ranks to Exceptional later this turn, though, and if things go a certain way here, a successful check on a high DC could bump that up for you early, leaving your training with Dad as pure progress to the next rank (granted, it's not possible that you'll hit Exceptional this year since you lack the prodigy bonuses that applied to improving Ki Control). This would represent you succeeding in convincing somebody of something when they were very against the notion, and in the process coming to a new realization about how the art of persuasion works. This kind of improvement can usually happen at any time (I left it unmarked since it didn't increase your rank, but you got a relatively hefty boost from your encounter with Lady Vegeta), but is most likely to happen in charged social situations (i.e., when I'm paying attention for it).

THE PUBLIC USE COOKIE HAS BEEN NOMINATED FOR USE ON A COMMUNICATION CHECK IN NEED OF IT NEXT UPDATE. AS A REMINDER, THAT MEANS THAT IF NOBODY VOTES AGAINST, IT WILL PASS BY FIAT. IF THERE IS SOME ARGUMENT, IT COMES DOWN TO THE STANDARD SV PLURALITY VOTE (i.e., side with more votes wins).

You could use multiform to increase your talking power, absolutely. As per the latest version of the character sheet, "You have an acceptable grasp of its use and can form a single copy, with a minimum of fuss." Doing so would require revealing that you know the multiform, however, and I know some of you were reluctant to do that.

Eh, I think it might be worth it. I mean, what are the actual chances of them having a private meeting? This seems more like the group politics ala Athen, and any decisions made will be made by majority. We should essentially weigh the chance to get to know two separate factions before the debate whether it would be worth the risk of missing out on any separate conversations we would like to listen in on.

Also something that occurred to me. We're basically in front of everyone, and our power level is distinct. What are the chances someone will detect us if we attempt to split suddenly? I imagine the multiform is detectable and that we can be sensed through walls.

Does the "for this scene" mean the whole event or just this one time? If so, it might be worth saving it for our actual argument which will likely be controversial.

You could in theory hide it; your Ki Control is good enough to raise your power level so quickly that nobody notices the momentary lowered level. You could split and then have you and your copy both raise your power level to your normal resting level, without anybody noticing. It's far enough into the bleeding edge of your abilities that it would require a moderate-difficulty check, though, and you'd definitely need to be out of sight first.

Just this upcoming interaction (i.e., whoever you choose to speak to, for the length of the next update will have a cookie reserved for them for me to apply as it would achieve the best results on Communication checks).

About cookies, if we use it to raise a skill or add to a difficult roll and that passes, does it still count towards increasing our base skills?

Well, things have died back a little bit. Nothing like a vote tally to shake things up!

Ah...hm. I didn't think I made the choice that hard, did I? Eh, probably just missing some of the regulars at this hour for whatever reason. Voting is still open! Which is good, as we presently have a tie -- not on what to do, but on how to approach our latest friendship prospect.

*TARGET ACQUIRED*

Kakara-bot has sighted its latest prey, it would seem. Some people are talking about Multiform, though, so who knows?

EDIT: As a reminder, I use VoteTally 3.21, so if you vote on one issue in one post and then on another in a later one, only the later vote will be counted. I'll count by hand when I can to catch this, but considering we're reaching ten+ pages of discussion between updates now...

Well, she's a figure that, in my mind, has a high chance of, if not being the next High Priest, at least being well-placed to influence the Cult, and perhaps even her uncle. She's of an age with us, meaning she won't talk down (albeit in a highly reverent/worshipful way) to us, and it may reduce stress. To me it's a valuable potential alliance and "insider source".

EDIT: Also we need more friends friends are cool. And we have, like, 0 Saiyan friends. We should fix that. Here's a chance. Yay religion!

Yeah, but I don't think befriending her/making a good impression is going to be hard.
