I haven't read every single one of Poptarts posts, so I'm unsure if the question hasn't already been answered, but is there any reason we can't just ask Jiichan how to do the fusion dance next time we dream of him?

[X] To High Priest Celeran's niece Fennella. No harm in playing along for now. Or maybe he actually is just referring you to somebody about your age.
-[X] Friendly, interested in meeting a new person. Talk about whatever she wants to discuss but switch to food if the conversation goes into something weird like politics.
-[X] Grab a couple of snacks from somewhere and share one with her.

No reason we can't ask, but I'm pretty sure he wouldn't tell us.

Also, it would probably feel wrong for Kakara to 'abuse' her relationship with Jiichan like that - he probably wouldn't like us pestering him for techniques or forbidden secrets all the time.

Our Jiichan loves us, and we shouldn't take advantage of him. much

I think we should save the cookie for when we tell these religious people to not burn heretics.

EDIT:
[] Use Multiform to wander the crowd, doing nothing in particular and just taking in the moment. Be generally nice and sociable.

I don't have any particular interest in keeping Multiform secret so I figured why not? This'll increase our reputation further and give us more progress towards a Communication rank-up.

I don't think he actually knows the dance. I mean, he might have learned in while being dead, but since he'd have no use for it in the afterlife I doubt he did. I'd much rather ask him about the God ritual, really.

Hmmm...

In reality, he simply doesn't know it. Goku and Vegeta do, if you ever find your way to them.

But your revised version had no X's in the boxes...;)

Minor Factions and Ideologies

In the centuries since the Exile began, Saiyan society has evolved greatly and isn't limited to merely following the personalities of Goku and Vegeta. There has been so much intermarrying between Saiyans that there isn't a single one that isn't descended from both Goku and Vegeta, leading to a fair amount of "cultural exchange" as a result. While the two main axes of Saiyan politics are religion and the Masque, there are other talking points that Saiyans disagree with each other on, primarily revolving within the central cultures of the Clans Goku and Vegeta.

Clan Vegeta
Monarchists
-Within Clan Vegeta are many who believe that the two clans should come together and become one Saiyan people once more with the King of all Saiyans at the head. The Monarchists are those who actively argue for it and enter the political arena to see their dream come true.

-How the two clans should be unified is the primary point of contention between Monarchists. A political marriage between Scions is considered to be very distasteful as Saiyan society believes strongly in marriage for love, even within Clan Vegeta. Rock-Scissors-Paper between the Clan Lords was once seriously considered as a way to decide who'd be king, something that modern Monarchists are ashamed of to this very day.

-The secondary point of contention between Monarchists is how the succession should go, with the most popular opinions being that it should be strictly hereditary or that it should go to the best fighter between the two Clan Lords (which relies on the two clans existing post-unification).

-Dealing with tyrants is the tertiary point of contention between Monarchists. Nobody wants a bloodthirsty warlord on the throne, not the Gokun and not the Vegetans. Having contingencies for removing tyrants from their position without undermining the king's position as absolute ruler of the Saiyan race is a topic that no one has yet come up with a solution for.

Crusaders
-This political ideology is the result between the limited mixing of the cultures between Clan Goku and Vegeta, combing the idealism of Clan Goku with the militarism of Clan Vegeta. The belief of these Vegetans is that the Saiyans should reinstate the Saiyan Army and use the overwhelming might of their warrior race to purge the evils of the galaxy, ruthlessly and without mercy.

-The primary point of contention within Crusaders is the Masque as it is one of two things (the other being internal instability) that prevent the ideology from being pursued. A great majority believe it should stay up, at least until the Saiyans' internal troubles are dealt with.

-The secondary point of contention is a minor one relating to whether or not Saiyans should get paid for the work they do. Crusaders are split on this issue, but it's significantly less contentious than the primary point as it's generally seen that it'll vary from person to person based on personal choice.

-Though it's never uttered out loud, another point of contention is whether Vegeta Vegeta and Yammar Vegeta would count as targets. Their actions are considered within the bounds of legality but are undeniably evil. Allowing evil to exist due to legality goes against the core philosophy of the Crusaders (and is reminiscent of Clan Goku's failures regarding House Peat) but causes friction as it clashes with the Vegetans' respect for the rightful rule of their Princes.

Clan Goku
Purists
-Among the Gokun are those who take inspiration from the namesake of their clan and believe in fighting for what's right no matter the odds. While many Gokun believe in the general idea, Purists take it one step further and declare that laws shouldn't stop people from doing what's right and and that they shouldn't protect people who are doing evil. This naturally makes them hate Vegeta Vegeta and Yammar Vegeta who performed undeniably evil actions for the sake of stability and power but were considered untouchable due to the legality of their actions.

-The only solid point of contention is the sealing of Jaffur. Jaffur was noted to be unlike his father and grandfather in that he wasn't a dog-kicking monster and was generally ok as far as Purists were concerned. Sealing him away permanently as was done to him is thus seen by many Purists as abominable as it was in effect killing a child. Some hate Berra for his part in sealing Jaffur while others point out his reputation and note that he was only doing what he thought was right. The Purists' disdain for Dandeer is unanimous, as she was the one who sealed Jaffur and it's believed by some (those who defend Berra, mostly) that she tricked him into helping her seal him.

-The other point of contention is much less solid and is simply about the nature of good and evil and what counts as which, hardly something unique to Purists.

Anti-Peats
-Vegetans aren't the only ones who look down on Clan Goku for failing to deal with House Peat. Many Gokun echo Clan Vegeta's opinions and are dissatisfied with House Peat getting away scot free despite their rebellious nature. While their stance on punishments are less extreme than Clan Vegeta's, they still believe in a severe punishment for their failure/refusal to keep their members in line.

-The first point of contention between Anti-Peats is what punishment House Peat should suffer. Proposed penalties include executing the House Head, the disbanding of the entire House, imprisoning those among the Peats who didn't oppose the rebels, and more, including combinations of punishments.

-The other point of contention is the role of religion. Many Anti-Peats see that the strong connection of House Peat with the Ancestor Cult politically protects them from paying their just dues and thus have antipathy for the religion. Other Anti-Peats - both religious and not - separate the religion from the actions of House Peat and have separate opinions.

-It's suspected that House Peat does not like the Anti-Peats.

Unaffiliated
World Government
-A faction minor even among the minor factions, the World Government faction draws from both Clan Goku and Clan Vegeta. The idea is to, over the centuries, bring the various nation-states of Garenhuld together into a single world government with a king in the same style as Earth. Most Saiyans don't really care about the human world of Garenhuld so the World Government faction is basically told to do whatever they want so long as they don't break the Masque.

-The only point of contention is the reason why Garenhuld should be united under a central government. Clan Goku believes it should be because it'll make Garenhuld more peaceful and a better place to live while Clan Vegeta believe it should be because it makes sense to be under one ruler and it'll help defend against extra-terrestrial threats better. The two sides see the points the others make and they're not contradictory, so it's really just a talking point on which reason is better, not which reason is right.

This idea came from thinking about how cool/weird/funny it would be to have tens of thousands of power level 1 million Saiyans suddenly appear on the galactic stage and just start wrecking the days of unassuming evildoers. They're just going about their days, minding their own business, pillaging a planet or two when SUDDENLY SAIYANS OH GOD EVERYTHING'S BURNING WHY IS THERE A FIST IN MY CHEST.

Decided to expand that to cover other political factions since the ideas came easily enough.

*wipes tear from eye*

Beautiful...

I'm not sure I agree with your predicted groupings, at least aside from the monarchists, but it is an interesting read.
How would you do the groupings instead? I'm confused about why you think the Anti-Peats aren't where they should belong since it's all about Gokun who disagree with Clan Goku's leniency to House Peat.

I think I might do up an analysis on likely political factions among the Gokun tomorrow when it isn't so late. It deserves some serious thought.

As for the Anti-Peats, while something like that may turn up, I don't think it would be specifically focused on the Peats. Rather it would be a group that more generally wants harsher punishments for wrong-doers than is Gokun tradition. The Peats would then be but one of several that the group would dislike.

I look forward to seeing what you come up with.

I can see that kind of group showing up, but Anti-Peats as a faction can exist outside of it. It's more focused than wanting harsher punishments across the board and attracts those who only want harsher punishment for Peat specifically because the unmatched frequency with which they break the rules demands it.

@PoptartProdigy

In order to do the Multiform mind separate thing, we need to make sure Jaron will keep our training with him secret. Will befriending him to the point where he won't blab about our secret interactions with him count as working towards Jaffur's seal?

Oh yes.

It will also get you traits that benefit the Deceit skill.

It will also give you cause for conflict with Sophie, via ammunition for Jenny to tease you with by implying that the two of you are crushing on each other.

Among other things. :D

Y'all are lucky I'm tired, or I would never have mentioned all that where you could see it. ;)

Roughly thirty minutes to vote close.

Hmmm....I'm thinking we shouldn't have befriending Jaron as an Unsealing Jaffur action. Training him, yes, but I don't want Kakara essentially pretending to be his friend to do it. It's kinda cold. I definitely think we should put an action to befriending him, but to bring him up to the same level of friendship as the other Misfits rather than because we want something out of him.

That's time. Vote Closed.

Not that there was any dispute on who, but your approach for going to talk to the next Friendship Target is friendly and outgoing, with snacks, letting her direct the conversation but switching over to food if the conversation goes to "somewhere weird like politics." Now, I usually don't have players feel comfortable ceding such wide latitude of freedom in interpreting their votes to their QM, but if you insist...

...nah. I'll be good. ;)

Similarly decisive. The public-use cookie shall not be used.

I'm tired and it's nighttime where I am. Your update will arrive tomorrow. There will be one Communication check involved, of moderate difficulty. Based on your traits and skills, you have excellent chances of success. If any individuals wish to donate cookies to the check, this format is how I'll let you know about your upcoming checks and what your odds are on them so you can know what you want to throw sweets at.
