Well, Vegetans in particular get away with rule by fiat a lot of the time, and Goku defaults more to disorganized feudalism than rule by law, but there are some laws, yes, enforced all the more stringently for their rarity.
All this suggests we're best getting some sort of agreement with all the stakeholders BEFORE carrying this out.
That way we don't get blindsided by people making decisions we don't have legal input on.

I wonder what would have happened if Jaffur had managed to simply kill his father out of hand back then.

The Prince is dead.

Long live the Prince.

Don't forget Dandeer's destruction of evidence by erasing Jaffur's memory of the night he "attacked" her. That's another nail in her coffin.
I actually suspect that he tried again when he found out what Dandeer did. That she didn't get her arm broken defending herself, she got her arm broken defending Vegeta when Jaffur found out the asshole was finally in a position to be killed, so he could take over as Lord. But Dandeer still loves Vegeta, even if she hates what he had become.

That or she faked it somehow to get Berra on her side.

What destruction of evidence?

She erased Jaffur's memories of the night where she Sealed Vegeta, he supposedly attacked her with intent to kill, and she somehow subdued him but wasn't able to Seal him on her own.

...That might actually be true. Jaffur loved his mother -- she was basically the pillar on which his life stood. He "attacked" her because she got in the way of killing him. She was shocked by that because she didn't think Jaffur had it in him to hurt her.

... That makes complete sense for all involved. I buy it.

Seer. We *can* take a look back in time to see what happened.

If Jaffur did attack her for the reasons she said, I would probably try and make the charges of medical malpractice.

Well, I know what we should learn to See.

Next we just need to learn to project what we See. I'm sure we can do it with Ki - we can already shape it and color it.

We should totally devote an action next year to learning Ki Artistry - using colored and shaped ki to tell stories.

Why erace his memory then?

Well, Mind Delve is a thing. And if he didn't remember differently, even if the Sealing had failed she had a legal avenue to explore for retaining power. She could have hoped that Jaffur would be stripped of the title Scion and that she and Valentine would have to have a new little Scion (or his sister would be named).

Are we able to guide our Sight that well yet? I know we eventually can, but I didn't think we were at that point yet.
Yeah, we reached that point in the update in which we saw Dazzarel vs 4 GO vision. It is just that we haven't had our yearly vision since then yet, since it was earlier this year.
Edit: here you go
Seer [Adept]. Flashes of things to come, in odd moments. Dreams of what was. Visions of what will be. Odd layerings of deeper truths on the face of base reality. You are touched by something ancient and powerful, introduced into your bloodline via a curse on your ultimate ancestor Bardock, the first Super Saiyan. This is an incredibly rare gift, and in time you will become truly mighty with it. After years of practice, you have finally put a leash on this ability, and can now rarely, with great focus and effort, call a vision at will.

Because killing a man in a fight is one thing, and a sometime method of succession.
Murdering, or attempting to murder, a Sealed man, is quite another.
And she's protecting her son from legal charges, as well as protecting his reputation.

Assuming of course that any of this is true instead of simply conjecture.

The reason she gave was that he tried to kill her as soon as he found out about Vegeta's sealing, so she erased his memory so that he had no reason to try it until they sealed him. Assuming that he tried to kill Vegeta because he saw the chance, her reasoning to erase his memory could be the same: So that he didn't try to kill Vegeta as soon as he woke up.

I find that more likely, tbh.

Ah yes. Because developing a new art form directly follows from "I need to show my visions to people"

... actually art does logically follow. Darn, I was hoping for Oddball to kick in...

Y'know, most people would just think "I'm going to tell people what I Saw" and maybe "They can Mind Delve me if they think I'm lying."

It IS pretty Oddball to create a whole new style of art just to show the vision, especially considering we could STILL LIE through Ki Artistry.
