That she didn't get her arm broken defending herself, she got her arm broken defending Vegeta when Jaffur found out the asshole was finally in a position to be killed, so he could take over as Lord. But Dandeer still loves Vegeta, even if she hates what he had become.

Assuming that he tried to kill Vegeta because he saw the chance, her reasoning to erase his memory could be the same: So that he didn't try to kill Vegeta as soon as he woke up.
