The only thing that needs To work out is Hawk and Spy. The consequences of those two failing would create more troubles down the line.

Did those two already get XP?

Random fact: "Tomokiri" means literally Friend Slayer, but in the sense that it applies to a sword that can cut other swords of similarly high quality.

Yes, I am antsy for the results, how did you guess?

[ ] Upgrade PMC with Energy Weapons (Lizzy)
DC 65 (Reduced by XP)
57+20+26+2=105
Decent Success

Lizzy typically prefers to work with live weapons, but she made the switch to laser ones easily enough. Though her speaking skills left a lot to be desired, she managed to equip all the many divisions of your PMC with energy weapons and direct them through just enough training that they can use the things effectively. Your PMC has grown in effectiveness slightly, and now grants an extra -1 malus to attacks made on your home turf!

[ ] Reach out to Shego (Janus Lee)
DC 40
31+18+26+3=78
Spectacular Success

To be continued in Interlude: Meeting in the Middleton

[ ] Recruit from your Rolodex: Wendy Wower (Goofy)
DC 60 (Reduced by XP)
62+18+28+5=113
Great Success

Goofy traveled over to San Fransokyo for an afternoon and managed to get in an interview with Miss Wower. Apparently that's not her real last name, weird. The idea of a corporate sponsorship delighted her, as did the thought of doing actual robotics research once again.

Wendy Wower has been unlocked as a hero unit!

[ ] Dinosaur Farming (Hego)
DC 60 (Reduced by XP)
27+24+18+1=70
Bare Success

You initially wondered if Hego's incessant do-gooder syndrome would make him balk at the thought of chopping dinosaurs up for food, until you realized that he worked at Bueno Nacho. No other crimes in food could compare to what went on in that building. He used his managerial experience to set up a network of farms and slaughterhouses, using growth-accelerated livestock for fast production of meat. Products hit the shelves a few weeks later and were an immediate success, even when you took into account the sheer novelty of eating dinosaur meat.

Small income increase! Moderate public opinion increase! DC of Dinosaur Adaptations reduced!

[ ] Recruit New Employees (Wile+SAU)
DC 55 (Reduced by XP)
92+17+24+22+4+5=164
Critical Success

To be continued in Interlude: Poaching Eggheads

[ ] Wing the Hawk: Expose (Mirage)
DC 70 (Reduced by XP)
34+14+28+5=81
Decent Success!

Mirage was not able to get a full conviction on Hawk, but frankly that probably doesn't matter. Building on Agent Russ' previous work, Mirage dug up both Hawk's previous record of shady real estate deals and his previous involvement in the development of Flubber. Hawk was briefly taken into custody by newly instated Commissioner Cleaver, and by the time he had posted bail, it became clear that Doom was cutting all ties. It's hard to see where Hawk could go from here.

To be continued in Interlude: That's All, Folks.

[ ] Spy on your Employees (Major Monogram)
DC 95
9+14+18+1+10 (XP)=52
Miserable Failure

Monogram's attempts to look in on your employees did not go well. The Major was apparently used to extremely obtrusive mad scientists making impotent declarations all over the place, so his concept of subtlety had atrophied. His method of 'spying' didn't even fool the laziest intern in your office, and more than a few people got pretty annoyed at him. He has basically nothing to show for his work, though thankfully he managed to avoid truly angering anyone.

[ ] Research Robo-Doppelganger bodies (Von Drake)
Absent Minded activates!
[ ] Research GalFed Coffee Machine instead! (Explosion Threshold reduced by 10)
DC 120
71+38+40+4=153
Decent Success

"Vaht? Doppelgangers?!? I thout jou said Doppel Expresso!"

Ludivine pulled an all-nighter working on your Robo-Doppelganger systems. Unfortunately, that all-nighter produced an intense need for coffee, and before you knew it that had become the focus. You don't blame her really. You've done worse. The upshot of all this is that you now have a series of incredibly good (if vaguely humanoid) coffee machines with some only very slightly alien parts inside of them that are now selling like hotcakes.

Also, due to Kitsune deciding to take a short break in-between putting up spell tags and weaponizing the feng shui, it also appears to do potions now too.

Moderate Income increase!
Automatic Potion Brewing Personal Action unlocked!

[ ] Research GalFed Translator Suite (Jumba)
DC 130 (Reduced by XP)
54+38+38+20+3=153
Decent Success

Jumba had very little difficulty in sorting out the galactic translator his ship came equipped with. More than 30,000 languages are now included in DEI databanks, ensuring that future interactions with other species- or other cultures, for that matter- will go swimmingly.

DC of Decode Odd Signals Reduced!
Future international quests may have reduced Diplomacy DCs!

[ ] Create Magical Defenses (Kitsune)
DC 75
100+50+4+20+2+10 (XP)=186
Critical Success

To be continued in Interlude: Warding the Henhouse

[ ] Research Resiniferatoxin (L.O.V.E.M.U.F.F.I.N.)
DC 90
90+38+14-1+10 (XP)=151
Spectacular Success

You have to admit that you're kind of impressed. L.O.V.E.M.U.F.F.I.N, despite their griping over being assigned to unimportant tasks, really pulled out all the stops with this one. The 'geniuses' over at Bueno Nacho thought that it would be sensible to season their beef with a chemical that was more than a thousand times more potent than pure capsaicin, and apparently some people actually ate this stuff. Their mad science instincts kicked in and they managed to form some sort of non-lethal and extremely debilitating gas that could cut potential riots in their tracks. It wouldn't kill anyone, but it might make the rioters wish they were dead! This'll come in really handy if you need to deal with people who you, you know, don't want dead.

Your already negligible chances of accidentally killing someone have been further reduced! Combat rolls made against enemies in Doofania get +2!

Chemical deterrent research unlocked!

[ ] Talk with the Bossman: Russ

To be continued in Interlude: Rival Actions

[ ] Find a new steed
53
Unsurprisingly given what you've been working on, finding a steed for Khan swirled around the idea of an appropriately cool dinosaur. You've picked out three options you think Khan would for various reasons appreciate.

Choose One:
[ ] Utahraptor- While certain other dinosaur creators out there might be willing to change the name because it sounds cooler, you have more integrity than that! Plus, Utah is one of your home states. You did let a little Velociraptor DNA get in here though, just for the Mongolian rep. About the size of a well-fed warhorse and exceptionally carnivorous, this thing seems a worthy steed.
[ ] Parasaurolophus
While herbivorous, the Parasaurolophus appears to have been/be a fairly violent animal, rather like hippos or bull elephants. Along with its massive dorsal crest, this thing should slam through the competition fairly easily.
[ ] Hybrid dinosaur horse
The good news is that this will require very little extra training on Khan's part. Also, it's a horse with scales and a raptor head. It's pretty metal dude.

[ ] Psychoanalyze: Dr. D
46

You were pretty busy these past few months, so your therapy session with Technor wasn't nearly as productive as last time. You went over a few issues on hand, the first of which was your supposed inferiority complex and desire for attention. Technor mentioned how this could be detrimental for you and specifically pointed to how much negative attention you're getting from the government for declaring Doofania to be independent. You might have a few things to consider in the future.

[ ] Speed Dating
89

To be continued in Interlude: "Express Romance! Can Tobe Find True Love in Thirty Minutes or Less?!"

[ ] Make Sandwiches
26
Dennis was pretty busy with his martial arts training, but he did use a few minutes of his spare time to make another dozen sandwiches or so. It's not much of a stockpile, but it'll have to do for now. He made hoagies, patty melts, heroes, cubans, po' boys, clubs and lots more. But for some reason, Dennis felt like there was one kind of sandwich in particular he'd forgotten to make.

[ ] Follow Father around
12
Norm followed you around again whenever you were home, barely giving you a minute of privacy. It was actually kinda creepy, and you're not sure what's gotten into him. You're going to tell him to lay off that for a while.

Inator Roll
The Super-Inator! The inator doubles, for better or for worse, the effect of the next Inator roll!

(Votes for Khan's steed will be included with the next interlude. Please do not vote now.)

Well, aside from spying on our employees, but I wasn't expecting that to go well. Heck, even Luddvine's absent-mindedness got us our first real taste of techno-magic! That's the fun thing about Von Drake: We're always gonna get SOMETHING outta it. Although, mind, it does eliminate our chance to put Jumba on it...

Damn, we just missed out on Shego and Wendy. Still, overall pretty good results; failing Monogram's action isn't good, but it could definitely have been worse. The switch by Von Drake is completely harmless, even if it means putting off Robo-Doppelgangers a turn, and I'm really glad we got that crit on Wile because we could use some stewardship muscle. Also very glad we rolled well on talking to Russ about his Nemesis! Overall, I'm satisfied with this result.

Fancy. Pretty good overall, shame about spying. I'm most excited for Warding the Henhouse.
I'm excited for the eggheads! Papa needs a new pair of Stewardship Heroes! Also, do we actually have Wendy? Because if so...Jesus, between her, Jumbaa, Von Drake, and whoever we just got from Wile, plus our own Learning...Learning DCs shall FALL BEFORE US! HAHAHAHA! Whew, I think the spirit of Doof came over me there.

This doesn't have a reward?
