So Toffee see us as the next Ludo?

He might just be trying to develop inroads because he thinks Star is in our territory, so he needs some leverage over us to get her our just access to our territory to get her, which, if true, means she's the Devil Girl who actively fought to defend our nation from the Meet the Robinson Supervillains.

I can't imagine we sell out a teen aged girl who fought to defend our nation over corn.

This isn't necessarily the case, but there's other reasons why I don't want to go into business with him.

If we do take Toffee out, do you think we could trade some of his territory to Shego for the rest of Colorado? We could finally rule the entire Tri-State area!

It's not like her brother lives there any more, though she still might be attached to it as the former residence of her (probably deceased) nemesis.

I think it's certainly possible, and I don't think we can come up with a better offer as far as getting it from her without fighting.

............

Well, I do have one idea on how to resolve the Shego thing. It's, it's a dumb one ... it's a crazy one.

Yeah, you're right, but you get what I mean? With active effort on our end, Doof, and more importantly the USA, doesn't need Toffee's corn deal to feed ourselves.

Also, aren't there multiple food companies we can buy, some of which are doing well at the moment?

Also x2, literally no one cares about Drusselstein, we could throw 20 Normbots at it, capture it in an afternoon without anyone noticing, and bam, free source of food. Importing it will be annoying, and it won't be a lot of food, but it is what it is.

Honestly i'm looking forward to a magicless Star showing up at some point to meet Jenna, only to find out that their roles have reversed and now Jenna is the one with an awesome magic wand (and an amazing pet).

Edit: oops, accidentally quoted someone.

Toffy is basically the one faction that has land adjacent to us that I think we could and would actually yoink. I don't think any of us really want to fight Shego, the plan with the northern robots are diplomacy because robots are cool, we plan to destroy Doom but the Zaibatsu is between us and them so we can't 100% integrate it directly it into our territory without throwing down with the Zaibatsu and I can't imagine America will be willing to let us have California, which is, if I recall right, a state with a bigger GDP then France.

Toffy's land is basically the only place we can go if we want to become a bigger nation. Plus side, unlikely to make us non-Toffy enemies as basically no one knows he rules it. Some opinion loss from the US as that's more states seceding, but, well, it's not California and we still pay taxes, we can figure out a bribe for them. I don't know, we could offer to figure out how to fix the Dustbowl in exchange for Toffy's territory?
Toffee is also adjacent to Doomtown. We take his turf and hold it, we can effectively take Doomtown for ourselves as well.

Not sure if this has been done or not.

Inatorinator: an Inator with the inate abilitiy to inate inators .

Good: roll twice on the good inators
Bad: roll twice on the bad inators

Won't that be the double-inator?

Though if we took over 2 king's land, we'll be public enemy number one and every other kings will focus on us.

I look forward to throwing Star at Genghis Khan and making her Star, Warrior Princess.

Let's not lie, we all want to see Temujin doing a version of the Xena theme song with Hungarian Throat Singing now.

I love it, 10/10.

Not if we do it right and make it clear to our potential allies exactly how bad these guys are/were. Hell, Xanatos would probably back us to the hilt to take on Toffee if we could get some evidence on his real motives.

I trust our hero characters enough to, at the very least, hold out and talk to janna about what exactly is going on so doof knows in-character.

Okay so we can assume that Halloween town ended at 1 and he succeeded in killing the main hero family and seizing control of the town.

How powerful is he? and how big a boon is he to Toffy's forces?

Red text is bad right? Is there a specific meaning to color codings?

I might be paranoid, but my mind jumped to Umineko's Red Truth.

Anything stated in the Red Truth is a fact that can be presented unquestionably without evidence.

Red Truth - When They Cry Wiki

The Red Truth (赤き真実, Akaki Shinjitsu) is a rule and weapon introduced by Beatrice in Turn of the Golden Witch. The Red Truth was conceived as a counter to Battler...

He has a town full of Old School monsters, which he has the power to change and make more evil and wicked. He can freeze people in place, and seemingly suck the energy out of them. Light seems to be his greatest weakness, but only in his semi-demonic form. He was defeated with a specific talisman of Merlin, which when loaded with witch's brew and placed in the stone pumpkin in Halloweentown, became an incredibly powerful beacon of light that blew him away. He's a master warlock and all that implies.

He's a pretty big stick on the magical side of things.

Soooo we're going to need to build a lot of flashlights

Okay, Let me get this out. OH SHIT SOOOONNNN

So, some quick thoughts

  • Oh boy oh boy oh boy, looking forward to the Stewardship AI vote. From past experience I'm fully expecting a treat!
  • Daaaayyuumm Sinatra, you so smooth. I'm gonna whistfuly dream about what it would've been like to somehow recruit him. Also yay, it looks like not much to fear from Kronos/Olympia directly right now?
  • Hot Diggity Damn, Lizzie recruited with little to no drawback and Stanley too? I'll take that. Also, MIH your comedic prose is superb. That subtle ironic callout from Technor re meglomania and the Will E. heckling are top notch sidebusters
  • Wow. Never thought I'd say this but Go Go Gantu! Take down the creepy ass scream farm! (highlight for invisi-text for people who don't know what I'm talking about)
  • Mannn I really wanna improve DoofOS and create the social media platform, information/media is key!
  • Doom's actions are really interesting. Of course he's gonna hit back at Doof, but I can't help but wonder if the promotion of capes is a desperation move. We know that a 100+ roll to investigate crime in LA was still a Critical Failure. He's probably desperate for serious firepower to regain control.
    • Yet at the same time I don't think this is that drastic? I mean, we uh totally have superpowered "normal" people/capes on the roster too. Look at Janna. Snarky teenager with a magic staff and quirky ass pet. She's the textbook example of special teen hero. Come on.
    • Also wow, outright overturning the SRA? If Evelyn is anything like her canon self, she's thinking of some way to sabotage this. Should we step back and let Doom and Olympia fight it out? Especially given that..
  • uhhh OH SHIT. That thing with Toffee...God Janna's waayy too valuable to alienate right now but Toffee seems really interesting too? And it seems hasty/risky to outright turn this down. Why can't we make a waffle-nator until we can get more information?
    • Also fuck gotta boost the magic defense. I don't like how easily that dude waltzed in.
    • Did we get mind-whammied on that intrigue check? What the hell Toffee's rep.

Half T-Rex and half motherfucking jet engine. Its like a rocket with more teeth than Luxembourg.

What is a dinosaur but a dragon that hasn't hit puberty, really?
Glorantha would like to know your number. (In that setting dragons start off as anthropomorphic "dragonnewts" that have to perform various mind-boggling and incomprehensible rituals--like dancing with beehives on your head level of weird--combined with regular ritualistic suicide to reincarante up the Dragon ladder. Proper dragons do not exist in linear time or even physical reality and the stereotypical firebreathing flying lizard is mearly the dreams of True Dragons impinging upon the world. Dragonnewts that fall in their karmic duties can end up as magical dinosaurs, those that really fail permentantly end up as dinosaurs, with no chance of getting back on the reincarnation cycle. Don't worry dinosaurs have been adopted by the Goddess of Earthquakes as her favored animals.)

So how about we take Doom's PR punch and roll with it?

We do an action supporting Super rights while making a pass at him saying that of course we stand against all bigotry etc etc and try to force him into a situation where if he doesn't put forward a token effort with toons he looks like the bad guy.

Maybe make it a two fold civil rights bill for supers and toons so that if Doom doesn't support it he looks like an ass and if he does he's actively working against his own agenda and alienating his own anti-toon support.

What's interesting about his offer is he didn't say what Toffee wanted and you know what they say about a deal that sounds to good to be true. Everything has a cost.
