So question do we know if YouTube is a thing in this world?
because if it isn't we can simultaneously help out the toons, screw over doom (by giving them income and a outlet for entertainment) and screw over Emcom by promoting DoffOS.
we create Dooftube and operate it's servers for free allowing content creators 100% of their Ad revenue. However we only make it usable on DoofOS systems. This drives the number of our units sales way up and Emcom way down. It also will probably raise our public opinion by quite a bit while still being Revenue neutral.
Exactly why the think tank is priority. Why would you spend the last few turns researching other things and leave the one that gives you the ability to research twice the amount of things as the one of the things to do later?
Because the odds of us succeeding on it are very low without a high Learning hero
Which is why getting Jumba would be so useful, on top of all the other benefits he does be someone that would give us a very good chance at succeeding on the Think Tank

Eh, while I admittedly don't know much about Von Drake I doubt he has as good Learning as Jumba and there's a bunch of other benefits to getting him other than just the Think Tank
Plus we can literally get both of them in one turn and then have two good Learning heroes to take advantage of our new Learning action
What really matters is that we recognize the limits of what we can reasonably accomplish in one turn. There's a lot of excited hype for Doing Cool Things right now, and I think it's greatly outrun the limit of what we can accomplish in the next turn, or for that matter the next 2-3 turns.
We can easily screw ourselves over by misallocating heropower or trying to stretch it too thin, and keeping too many heroes busy on quests at once means we don't get to test out their personal actions, which as we've seen can have significant benefits.

We effectively already have a second Learning Action; it just happens to involve assigning L.O.V.E.M.U.F.F.I.N. to perform that action, which means we can't really risk assigning them to anything with a DC much over 75 or so without incurring pretty high risk of a nasty Critical Failure.
I'm not saying the Think Tank isn't relevant, but we badly need to pick up a few more good Learning heroes before we can make it profitable.

And Jumba is an unparalleled genius in the field of genetics, needs to have a working understanding of several other fields of science in order to implement them into his creations and has a solid grasp on ideas that are years ahead of humanity such as space travel
Worst case scenario we get two great Learning heroes, which we'll need eventually anyway
Von Drake is pretty much a polymath of the highest order. He's invented machines that can do everything from time travel (likely not here) to enable a peek into someone's mind. He knows dozens of languages, including several dead ones.
So, I finally found out what McFist Industries is from, Randy Cunningham, Ninth Grade Ninja. So, if my jumbled up memories of the show are right, Randy may know magic, so, if he's still around, not only would he, probably, have decent Martial and Intrigue stats he'd, more likely than not, have an Occult stat... mostly thanks to the "NinjaNomicon". And, even if he's dead or no longer a ninja, we may be able to both find his suit and the NinjaNomicon, which we can give to one of our hero units so they can become a Ninja. If we recruit Tobe and give them to him, making him an even better Ninja.
So, I do think we should buy out McFist Industries... eventually. But, not immediately, as we do have more pressing actions to do, like moving Castle Doofhawk.

As a warning, I know MiH didn't watch this one. Buying out McFist may involve delays when he needs to catch up on the series from episode 1 and onward.

Yeah, I did mention a few threadmarks back that buying out McFist would do well for our Occult studies just for all the magic that would be concentrated around there.
You know Ludwig Von Drake might help us build a better educational system. Better view in the eyes of the public and goverment with a future of better quality employees entering the work force.
So, a bunch of us were discussing the whole focus on Blue Hawai'i on the discord, and we had some interesting thoughts crop up.
Orange You Say?Today at 1:46 PM
What kings even have the resources to pull a Blue Hawaii?
[1:46 PM]
As far as I can tell its Zaibatsu Xanatos and Shego [1:46 PM]
Syndrome before the gala too [1:47 PM]
The rest are to hyper focused on their own things to do it(edited) TempestKToday at 1:47 PM
Possibly Shego, but the odds of her being interested as low Layton of christmas pastToday at 1:47 PM
i mean it's finding out the signal, knowing hawaii is indeed still there and then getting Jumba
Orange You Say?Today at 1:47 PM
That last part is the trick though
NysticalToday at 1:47 PM
There is a big gap between "knowing hawaii is there" and "getting Jumba"
TempestKToday at 1:47 PM
yeah, agreed. Shere Khan isn't going to be interested unless he can see a way to leverage it into business. NysticalToday at 1:47 PM
like our reward might be something totally different [1:47 PM]
like establishing relations with GalFed Orange You Say?Today at 1:48 PM
Toffee would not care at all unless Star ended up there
Layton of christmas pastToday at 1:48 PM
yeah but he did give very clear instructions on how to break him out
Orange You Say?Today at 1:48 PM
Doom and Zootopia are to focused on their own issues
TempestKToday at 1:48 PM
Xanatos is the type to want to poke the bear just to satisfy his curiosity, but he's unlikely aware of Aliens being a thing. And it's implied that he's also got troubles happening in the magic underground. Orange You Say?Today at 1:48 PM
And the rest of the regions don't really have proactive kings(edited)
TempestKToday at 1:49 PM
plus he'd have to stage out of the eastern seaboard [1:49 PM]
the Zaibatsu are so diverse that I can't see them getting enough cohesion to throw resources at the whole thing. [1:50 PM]
Doof is the only one that a) has the resources, b) has the positioning, and c) is intrigued enough to check it out. [1:50 PM]
also, I think every other King is busy curtailing the fallout from the Gala as well. Orange You Say?Today at 1:51 PM
And discovering the signal would also take a while for anyone without an Inator [1:51 PM]
I say we have at least another 2 or 3 turns before anyone else even notices the signal(edited) Layton of christmas pastToday at 1:51 PM
i think decifering it would take a while [1:51 PM]
not discovering it [1:51 PM]
i think Orange You Say?Today at 1:52 PM
I mean the issue in finding it is it just looks like gibberish if you pick it up [1:52 PM]
Putting in the effort to decode it means you think something is up TempestKToday at 1:52 PM
deciphering it would require picking it up in the first place and being interested in decoding it. [1:52 PM]
we might want to post this discussion on the thread Orange You Say?Today at 1:53 PM
So yeah as C-Moon has said multiple times, it is not a pressing issue
You know we might end up getting Pleakley instead of Jumba. From re-watching Lilo and Stitch he's bound to have a similar level of diplo and intrigue to Xanatos, and decent stewardship too.
You know Ludwig Von Drake might help us build a better educational system. Better view in the eyes of the public and goverment with a future of better quality employees entering the work force.

Sci-fi is a lot less fun than it looks 1: Silent Stars and the Black Falcon.

Captains Log...Date I don't care I'm not an officer anymore. Jeez that last scrap was a tough one, glad we hit their magazine when we did.
I get why this class in the TE was a piece of junk only held on for its firepower. Uhh the Hull is a mess, we got some loot, sold the survivors for a bounty and got a drink at the local bar.
After barely outrunning the Confederacy Raiders who wanted to carrion bird their former coworkers for loot and salvage.
Its alway loot and Salvage with them....Feddie Borders didn't ask questions when we crossed. Just gave a thumbs up and prayed that the Confeds won't raid them again.
It had been getting worse on the northern border. A Lot worse, it was a hard fact that the Military knew ever since the Terran Empire and much of the Procyon Expanse fell into anarchy the lawless element became organized.
Even the Holdouts from both Factions were giving up as ammo and materials grew scarce and pirate lords took the stations and planets and made combined fiefdoms only held together by greed and the pressures of the rest of the galaxy.
And that's not talking about the OTHER nasty things running around in the Black. That's just the reasonable ones that exist.
Others are just as bad if not worse...and the Less we talk about the Black Hole ghost fleet the better. I don't think they're real...but I'd rather not find out I don't have a death wish.
Almost in Port...Some Backwater in the middle of nowhere, on some no named star. Its a Frontier outpost...gotta have a local home built flotilla and a bounty board just to stay relevant on this star map, so its better off then most of the galaxy so far, lacks a lot the Feddie Bureaucrats so its already going to weather most of the storms to come unlike the rest of the Galactic Federation.
Alright better help the others I'll finish this later.
I'm not one to say Life out here was easy...but it sure as hell was better then what I started with
Things were never easy for me. When I was a kid I got picked on for my small size, "Weakling, and Wormie"...and all of that sort of mockery that someone like me wouldn't have been able to endure, so I moved to change it, and it was the biggest mistake of my life, when I started working out I ended up getting drafted during the Vietnam War, I looked big enough to kill a man, so to get out of being sent into the Jungles I became a flyer, and when I got a job as a Pilot, I did it too avoid killing, directly at least less guilt that way, then one of the engines ended up failing and leading too me crashing somewhere during the Tet Offensive near Saigon.
Still had no idea how I made it through the night...nevermind the whole thing without two legs.
So for the past god knows how many years, I lived with it the pain and the guilt...not much work can be found for a man with only his arms to count on. The General Store helped with that pain a bit...but I missed the feeling of running through New Mexico's sunny fields and deserts.
Then I was one of the unfortunate ones chosen for the Deal our government made to save its own ass, A few thousand people chosen from isolated areas across the world, to be taken and live among them and to show that we are not violent primitives that need to be destroyed to PROTECT MOSQUITOS of all things!! But to also prove we could be apart of the Community that was slowly but surely falling apart.
We traded one war and an uncaring government for another far bigger and more seemingly incompetent one. Guess Asimov was right, we are the same as the aliens. They were just as idiotic and foolish as us...after all...they created that whole Black Hole Fiasco by sending Humans and Robots to touch something they weren't supposed to and paid for it.
Despite that, I am eternally grateful too them for restoring my legs, even if they don't feel the same. Though the fact that they didn't give me a choice infuriates me too no end.
Hmm Making me feel nostalgic for the last guy's I sold my soul to...I sure wonder what they are doing, hopefully, better.

(John POV )
You looked at the Black Falcon's Rigging and sighed "Jason, have we sent the docking codes to the Flotilla I don't want to get shot and searched for running dark. Like the last three times we went and got to an outpost. I'm not keen to get shot again"
Everyone knew that ever since the Feddies started to get under the weather and the rest of the Galaxies naster elements came up it was going to be everyman who prepared, and ganged up. The Military of the Feds tried, the both of you held back the worst of Zerg during your best years together. The planets in the Rim and outer periphery knew the score better then the ones in the inner core region.
Even broke Charter and formed regional defence forces far larger then allowed, now some were gawked at like the ones against the Pirate Confederacy, a localized anomaly of criminals formed after the collapse of two empires, that ran like a damn dog eat dog world, no morals, only profit and cutthroats...and that was the more recent one of the bunch only about Six, Seven years old.
Zerg's Imperium, had been around since you were a boy...the Galactic Alliance stood at that time, then by the time you were already a man, it was fallen pray to by weakness and corruption...the deathblow was quick and your forces were there to stabilize the border when it collapsed.
Still, it wasn't the worse thing you've seen, life out here was like earth you see, shit happens.

(Jason pov)
Raising a kid in space was far from easy, especially if her "parents" are two broken men, one of which raised the other. But you'd like too think you and John did a decent job as fa as you could get with parenting.
Sure, Aurora never had a perfect childhood, but you both still gave her some happy moments in the dark the regions of space.
What bad parent give a girl a gun for her 12th birthday, not you, that's for sure. Aurora was ready for the world, ready too survive in it. Ready too thrive in it.
-------------------------------
(John POV)
The bounty was turned in, the money exchanged and the inn rented. "We need something better then this?"
Jason was right, an admission that you were not proud to admit in this grand scheme of things at the end. A long and dedicated life of violence would not bring you peace, to any of you, there was simply too much and you had given all you can.
You nodded. "What am I to do? Pack up and go to the Fed core worlds and waste away, watch her live a mundane and hopless career as the worlds of the Federation fall all around her. As she grows old, she'll realize it was all for nothing. What the hell could we do then?"
It was a hard question to ask, and an even harder one to answer.
(Jason POV)
There was really only one thing we could do.
"Let's just go back to Earth, anything there is better than here." I told him
"Hypothetically...if we could...We'd have to get back across the Black with a ship that's seen better days, get past the Garrison floatilla that is around the outer planets and land in a place where we won't cause a massive panic. So tell me...where would we go? And Aurora, its not like we can just fake her as a Zootopian, that still exists right?"
All of these were good points.
"We're gonna need a better ship for one, as for Aurora, if we move somewhere isolated, then maybe we could keep a low profile." I suggested
"Back to New Mexico... and for a Ship I have a better idea. We just sell it to the Feds when we get there, lie about orders to work at the Preserve on site then take a plane to the US and live out the rest of our days...exactly in poverty and destitution, because who would hire us."
"Perfect, now we just gotta make sure we get there without getting killed." you muttered.
------------------------------------------------
(Aurora POV)
"Alright...you can do this...its just jumping off a cliff, and activating a solar surfer." You looked down as you held your solar surfer.
"Its jumping off a cliff...you can do this...you've done it in space, you've done it on a moon, you can do it in a normal gravity well." You were trying to hype yourself up and actually do it.
But you hated doing cool tricks in a gravity well. But they were always more fun.
You breathed in and let gravity do the rest.
You knew the exact calculations and force of gravity needed to get the most amount of fun out of this air time and not hit the ground on a pulp.
Three...Two...One…
Activate!!
The sail shot up and you grabbed the handle and yelled in sheer glee, each feeling of freedom amplified by the show of power and the engine carrying you across the sky.
For a moment, you forgot about the pain and the cramps of travelling, the difficulties and the struggles.
You wished it would never end.

Occupation: Pirate and Bounty Hunter, Gal Fed Marine (1989-2009, now retired)
Martial:29, (John despite everything he's been through, is a skilled soldier and commander of men,he's not supernaturally talented or gifted...just consistent in his success. And after nearly 20 years of fighting nearly every threat to the Federation without pause. Not bad for a man who sent into his first battle as cannon fodder and without a weapon.)
Diplomacy:13* (For a primitive man brought to space and thrown into the wider galaxy he adapted and became somewhat respected for a Human ) * John has no concept of true Human society, aside from patches of it learned from interacting with other humans, and this may lead to ...issues if not truly addressed*

Intrigue:20 (His Job was Commando work and all the messes that come with it.)

AN: So the Rosewell incident of 1973,we know nothing about it, It made Mosquito's protected in exchange for the Freedom of the Whole Earth and so far nothing else.
What did the Aliens get out of it?
Well in this timeline and my own guesses on the matter, The USA sold out some of its own citizens to be sent into space (In secret of course) and used in any matter that the Galactic Federation wants too. Some went onto have successful lives, others...well you know the Film Black Hole...yeah.
The Federation is reaping the Whirlwind in that case...
But the wider galactic scale isn't important, its just two guys and their adopted child trying to go back to earth and build a home in the Mad Mad world of Gridlocked Disney.
We put a lot of work into this I don't know if its canon or not but its there to get people thinking.
Thanks @radioxaxa for looking over the Space Expansion of Disney Villans Victorious and helping craft this idea.

A) Whoever goes to Hawaii instead of us wouldn't need to actually save Jumba in order to cause us a whole heap of problems, they would still cause GalFed to increase their security and possibly draw their attention if they aren't careful
B) Basically every King that knows about the signal will be interested in it because it's a mysterious signal coming from a state that the government claims got blown up
C) Basically every King has a way that they could feasibly decode it, Glomgold has near infinite money, the Zaibatsu are made up of some of the countries most advanced tech companies, Drakktech has people like Drakken, Toffee has magic and Xanatos is Xanatos
D) There's all sorts of reasons why the various Kings would want to investigate Hawaii, Glomgold would think that there's treasure there, Shere Khan would be worried that they might mess with his control over the Pacific, the Zaibatsu would want to know what's going on right off their coast, Toffee would be suspicious of it and Xanatos would be curious and want to know what's happening
E) Saying that the Zaibatsu don't have enough cohesion to investigate it is underestimating them and Xanatos wouldn't have to launch his expedition from the east coast since he owns Alaska
F) There's no real reason to delay us doing it any longer since we can do it and basically everything else we want to do this upcoming turn
You know we might end up getting Pleakley instead of Jumba. From re-watching Lilo and Stitch he's bound to have a similar level of diplo and intrigue to Xanatos, and decent stewardship too.
I very much doubt it, he 100% bought into the mosquito lie, follows bureaucracy religiously and despite being GalFeds foremost expert on humanity possesses very little understanding of them
