here's my thought process:

If we admit it, Mirage probably goes to Jail, but it would be a very satisfactory ending to this arc.

If We cover it up, maybe Edna exposes us later, maybe Mirage has a breakdown, and maybe we get maluses from our team-mates, but whatever happens this wouldn't really feel like the end of the arc.

Definitely great that Hego finally got his moment to shine.
It has been a hard fought one, though.

As for Mirage, it is time for her to say the truth after all the lies and betrayals.

The fun part is that even if it gets out doof would still keep her on I mean he killed his nemesis (even if it was a terrible accident) so he'd be pretty hypocritical to judge her

The Man of Tomorrow has finally arrived. Hard-fought, hard-won, Hego has Earned this.

Boy's grown so much.

As for Mirage? Take a bow, exit stage left. Do the right thing for once, and this time on your terms. She's got a lot riding in her favor - helping take out Syndrome, now taking down Circuit Breaker, and all of the work she's done to help people with the Doof.

God damit fuck you Die Gods
[x] Tell them everything
The jig is up, your own people have clearly begun to mistrust you, and you owe Hego this much. You… you don't know if you can bear this weight anymore. You will give yourself, at least, to a man whose judgement you trust.

I wanna admit it. Worst case scenario (for us) Mirage goes to Jail. It's a loss, but we can recruit a replacement for her. But for the other option we might end up with maluses.

Well, if nothing else, at least Hego finally got his big damn moment.

Gut instinct is to just admit it. We're never going to get a better moment that doesn't weigh on Mirage, narratively it feels like a natural flow, and if nothing else the team is already looking at us funny and I don't think anything less than admitting it will stop them from digging into it anyway.

To be honest, while I see the narrative appeal of truth, and I guess Mirage's guilt pushes her that way, the arrogant self-righteousness of them demanding answers of Mirage in this context with jack and squat real justification, plus Edna's 'assistance' during the incident, is really pushing me to lie. This feels more like caving under guilt and peer pressure than character growth.

Seriously, who the hell made them the Spanish Inquisition? Hego may have come in with the save, but he'd be toast halfway through without our people pulling his ass out of the fire and it's not like sister is an angel so yeah.

Yeah, but I feel like Mirage would tell the truth if she were in control. Her entire character arc seems to have been leading up to this moment.

We only get one MirageQuest Turn. Let's go big or go home.

I mean, someone did just accuse us of murder. Even Hego ain't that stupid. Plus, Hego did push Edna off, which is VERY good in this context. LIke, I don't think it's ungrateful, it's a pretty legit concern. For Hego. I will admit, Edna does kinda flat out hate us.

Yeah, if Hego is so concerned about unfounded accusations I got a few to point at sister.

Like yes, I see the point, but it feels like they are only pressing Mirage this hard because she's 'nice' and emotionally vulnerable due to her attraction to Hego. There have gotta be rumors about Doom, Sinatron fucking killed Pine, but they chase after Mirage and grill her because the psychopath made vague allusions to her past?

And seriously, I am DONE wifh Edna.

I don't expect Mirage to go to jail, honestly. Even in real life, megacorp C-Suites have a shocking ability to get away with things, and most of them don't occupy the better part of three states. If this were to police officers, or on live television, or there was other damning evidence to go with the confession, sure; the protections only go so far. But even if they do end up bringing charges against her I doubt it will stick unless she pleads guilty or they do a lot of comicbook detective work, not just on Hego's word, and it's an open question if he'd pass it on or testify against her; Evelyn's word definitely wouldn't be enough.

Bear in mind that this is a world where not just Dr. Doofeshmirtz but also Shego and Doctor Drakken are able to walk around in public without fear of arrest.

Not to mention it just wouldn't be worth it we are "effectively" king of the tri state area no ifs and or buts the government could technically fight us and win but 1 we're actually on ther good side relatively and 2 to do so would cost waaaay to much of their allready dwindled strength so if we say she stays free she does barring us forcing the issue and making them go against us

That's the thing: She has no real reason to confess here unless it's her putting her guilt and ideals and attraction to Hego over all common sense. So how far does that decision extend? Letting Hego arrest her? Pleading guilty? Doing her time? All to meet some standards she's holding onto, or out of guilt, or to impress a guy who doesn't know her at all anyway?

I really wouldn't bet on her confessing and avoiding arrest, especially with Edna there.

And as fun as having Doof's daughter take over would be, I like Mirage working for us, not as Hego's Catwoman.

I'm on the side of telling them: it makes narrative sense and is just fair. It might dishearten hego again, but that's worse than lying now and him finding out later, and I find it massively unlikely that he'll press charges. And like was said earlier, there is no evidence.

So I'm definitely voting to tell the truth, because it's narratively appropriate and lying at this point would degrade Mirage's development forever. But if she goes to jail at the end of this, I'll be very disappointed.

Also she still has an interlude with the science duo upcoming.

Though we could always just break her out next turn if worst comes to happen... or pay her bail.

The main problem with Mirage confessing was always an emotional one.

Should she atone? Yes.
Would Ms. '5 Martial with a Gun' survive her audience's gut reaction? No.

Now everyone present is mentally exhausted from the 4 or so plot twists and the flaming ball of passion that is Edna has opted for a rain-check*. Confessing will at a minimum eat up Mirage's PA's but the action is no longer a game over.

*She doesn't trust us enough to have the conversation anywhere but her heavily armed mansion**.
**Edna lives alone and Mirage will hopefully be a lizard by then.
