It looks like Roddy, Tom, and Wendy have "opinion" while everyone else in the hero list seems to have "loyalty".

Could be that we need to cultivate higher opinion from those 3 in order to turn them into proper loyal hero units?

If the Yokai wants to replace Trevor with Wendy, and if his "we're doing good!" shtick might work on her, then we probably need to cultivate opinion/loyalty with her first.

Perhaps with personals involving her and other hero units? And a chat personal?

Trevor Trengrove is overwhelmed by crippling guilt! Further interaction with Funtelligence has the potential to change the situation rapidly.
Wendy Wower's current opinion of you: 5

Okay, non-Wendy personnel to interact with Funtelligence while we throw money at Wower.

For the final nail in the coffin I would suggest having Trevor and Wendy hold a Turing test in by the Jan/Feb turn. We need to keep things fairly public to avoid anyone from dying.

I don't think we should be rushing to force Wendy interactions with Funtelligence. We probably want to develop her opinion first (and have her develop friendships with her other coworkers), especially with the rapidly warning in red text.

"Change the situation" doesn't equal "Improve the situation"

...Ok, what the fuck just happened? Can someone please explain to me, what´s up with Tengrove?

Anyway, let´s look what we got there that I can understand:

You gain 2 Income as DEI and Funtelligence introduce new premium robotics models.
'Algorithmic Priming' upgrade unlocked for Normbots!
'Research Emergent AI' Action unlocked!
Trevor Trengrove is overwhelmed by crippling guilt! Further interaction with Funtelligence has the potential to change the situation rapidly.

The two income from this collab as well as the ones from the collab with Olympia raises our current reserves to *6 Income*, meaning that, should the deal with David fall through, we would "survive" the Rainfood-Inator with 3 Income still in our pockets - which means that after everything said and done, we´d start next turn with one Income "profit" compared to the 2 we started out with.

Not bad, but we should still invest at least some actions next turn into cushioning our pockets some more for stuff like "hiring the Commodore", "weathering more BS costs thrown at us" or gobbling up some other small companies" (on that front, I am leaning slightly towards Hopper as to bolster our existent food sector)

The Algorithmic Primic option could be useful to upgrade our Normbots away from the current, leaked specifications, so I am happy about that one.

"Research Emergent AI"...are we talking *truly sapient machines* here? That could be *huge* for us - both for making Norm a truly "Real Boy" after all and for putting our name on the map of AI research in giant, bold letters...

...What if that research option is the missing link to Decoding Drossels Transmissions???

...No idea, what to make of either Wendys *opinion* value or the nasty-red bit about Tengrove, so not touching either.

I don't think we should be rushing to force Wendy interactions with Funtelligence.

By "Throwing money at her" I meant let her do some PA's that she'll enjoy but don't necessarily advance DEI like those science kits.

Trevor and Wendy meeting up again should be saved for a point where we can prevent Yokai from offing the fraud.

So would it be good to do more collaborations with Wendy and them or would it be bad?

I would think good because the guy coming clean and giving Wendy the credit seems to be a morally good outcome and help Wendy. Are there reasons not to do it I'm not aware of?

...also we could really advance our AI research.

I do see one possible negative outcome. Trengrove is associated with Yokai who is connected with the criminal underworld and is giving Trengrove marching orders.

There's a possibility that Yokai might eliminate him due to the possibility of him revealing his plans.

Yokai is also a urban legend so Trengrove might also be eliminated to keep official conformation of his existence a secret. Here's a quote showing that Yokai is considered a mystery within San Fransokyo

Course, word on the street is Bakaemono is also sponsoring capes out the wazoo, so I got no idea. Maybe they're playin' both sides. Mark my words though, somethin' ain't right in that buildin. Some people even say they seen the Yokai skulkin' around."

"I feel like a broken record here," Max noted, "But who?"

"Local urban legend. Evil spirit that wreaks bloody vengeance. Yakuza likes to use him as a boogeyman." Russ said, before turning to Carl. "You say he's real?"

"I ain't sayin' nuthin." Felony Carl replied. "All I know is there's a lot more goin' on in this city than most people think. Doesn't need to be a demon or nuthin, but we got all sorts a' superheroes and supervillains and whatever around here, what's one more?"

On the other hand not assisting Trengrove might have Yokai decide he's useless and thus kill him.

That income went to yearly profits, not a one time thing, so it doesn't come right now.

Also, anyone know why this doesn't add to yearly income? Is it just not sustainable as a boost to revenue?

...in that case that deal with David better not fall through or we are in a really tight spot come next turn.

Regardless, more fundraising is in order to get some cushioning.

3 turn plan:
Make money through Feldrake
Buy Doc Hop's
Work with Trevor on his stupid soda

Muppets are good at distracting people via chaos.

That turned out so much better than I ever imagined, knowing he's being consumed by guilt for his actions opens up so many possibilities! Especially now that we have confirmation that they helped to make the Cogs!

Plus, way back at the quest´s beginning, Doc Hopper swallowed up McDonalds, so by grabbing Hopper we´d get McD as well, *one of the biggest fastfood chains around in RL*

That´s got to extend our reach something fierce

I especially want to get Doc Hopper's. My theory is that their spokesperson, who we'll likely get as a hero unit, might not be Kermit but in fact Constantine (his master thief doppelganger) - applying the "villains victorious" angle to its logical conclusion suggests Kermit would have become Doc Hoppers' mascot in the first movie, and while most of the events of the intervening ones would never have occurred due to the Muppets no longer being a show, Constantine would still have been a master thief, escaped jail, and likely hatched the scheme to replace Kermit since Kermit would still be in the public eye in his new role.

A master thief hero unit is a niche we don't exactly cover at the moment, and he'd probably be a lot more useful than Kermit (though we could hopefully still try to arrange to get Kermit out of the gulag)

I'm all for thiefs, mester or not. And if it turns out to be Kermit, we can ask for contact information. For the whole gang and the mester thief....

"You can't keep doing this, Trengrove." He said to himself. "Every year I make more enemies. More people who know what I've done. More people who'd love my head on a pike. The lies! So many lies! One day this whole tower is going to collapse and then…"

Trengrove attempted to blink away whatever he was seeing. A few small, black specks scuttled at the edge of his vision. A strange skittering filled Trengrove's ears.

"I should just go." Trengrove said. "Face the music, end this farce. Before…"
I'm sensing some Ciaphas Cain influence here. "Your song's a-playing, Trengrove!"

Also, great interlude! Loved our first look at Yokai.

Concept for a write-in action: Setting Up a Mad Science Insurance Company, to mitigate the results of bad inator rolls.

It's basically just Doofenshmirtz paying himself out of pocket, but hopefully using various tax breaks and financial wizardry to effectively get a discount on paying for damages resulting from Mad Science acts.

I know nothing of finances so I'm unsure if that could even work, but you hear a lot about the financial system being exploitable and insurance frauds, so maybe Mirage could set up a way for Doof to defraud himself and somehow obtain money from doing it?

We do have an insurance company.... A new opportunity maybe?

I mean, how many mad scientists would come running into Duufania with such a policy, right?

.... we would be screwed, but maybe new recruits?

So gobbling up Hopper´s might give us access to a master thief Operative on top of giving our strong food sector the reach of friggin McD?

Let´s hope that we can get enough Income to pull it off in time.

I had an idea for a Talk with the Bossman action with Wendy, during the Sands Gala we realized that Trevor was full of shit. So we could potentially talk with her over the collaboration and ask how she felt about it, citing our past interaction and how we saw through him.
