Competent Evil.
The Alliance of Competent Evils
The ACE's

David The Ace of Clubs, he knows a guy that knows a guy
Shego The Ace of Spades, she'll bury you personally
Heinz the Ace of Kings, because cards are built different in Drusselstein

Maybe Shere Khan the Ace of Diamonds and Drossel Ace of Hearts and we've got 5/17 for the Drusselstein card set?

I kind of hope Hego focusing on Bueno Nacho results in a constantly decreasing DC for revamping it. Feel like that would be a nice little mechanical quirk for him doing what he's doing, and I would like an epilogue-type bit where we can see him at peace, if not outright happy.

Not quite getting why Shego and David would be afriad, since we tend to act rather favorably towards both of them (so them being on the recieving end of CompetentlyEvil!Doofs wrath is pretty unlikely)
Because while Competent!Doof may be their ally, he's still f*cking terrifying. Hence, the mortal terror.

Congratulations, Frankenstein. It's a monster

Honestly, I think most factions would view competent Doof as a lateral move. Bad news: Doof is less likely to blow himself up by accident. Good news: he's less likely to blow us all up by accident.

"Do I… do I have to stop being evil if I want to keep running the Tri-State Area?" You ask fearfully.

You hear the sound of a gentle click.

"ABSOLUTELY NOT!" TECHNOR, THE MECHANICAL MAN declared.

"Wha?"

"DOCTOR, YOU FUNDAMENTALLY MISUNDERSTAND THE VILLAINOUS DYNAMIC! YOU ARE SO USED TO USING PETTY MEANS FOR PETTY ENDS THAT YOU CANNOT SEE THE GRANDER PICTURE. IMAGINE FOR A MOMENT DOCTOR: A PETTY, CHILDISH, MORONIC GOAL: AIDED BY COMPLETE COMPETENCE!"

"Wow, I… wait a second." You clock onto some of the less flattering words in there.

"NEVERMIND THAT! CONSIDER PURCHASING ZINC ON THE COMMODITIES MARKET! DIFFERENTIATE BETWEEN ENEMIES BEST LEFT IN ESCAPABLE DEATHTRAPS AND ENEMIES BEST FRAMED FOR MURDER! CAREFULLY VET YOUR EVIL HENCHMEN! CACKLE MADLY TO YOURSELF AS YOU SENSIBLE INVESTMENTS COMPOUND! THE GOAL IS SUPERVILLAINY DOCTOR, DO NOT FORGET THE MEANS ARE JUST THAT- MEANS!"

"Yeah! Yeah!" You say, feeling pumped. "I'm gonna be the best supervillain ever!"

You leap to your feet and look for some suitable way to express your enthusiasm. After a moment, you choose to honor Technor's choice by smashing through the plaster, just like him. You take a running leap- and slam facefirst into the wall. You slide down it slowly, making a loud squeaking noise before coming to rest.

"...A FOR ENTHUSIASM!" Technor declares, before switching his Ego module off once again.

...Maybe I am reading things incorrectly, but to me this scene implies that Technor is only ever actually evil as long as his Ego Module is switched on - meaning, that as long as it´s off, he might as well be a Good Guy mentally and morally.

Not that I would necessarily mind, but I am still confused, @Made in Heaven

Why would a good guy actively choose to flip a switch that makes them evil?

Hypothesis: when the ego module is switched off, he still endorses the same moral values, such as his own supremacy and the merits of supervillainy.

He just doesn't endorse those values as loudly as he otherwise might.

Tinker-Inator (Good): Tinkering with inators now provides the option to activate both or neither of the two inators in addition to only activating one.
Tinker-Inator (Bad): Tinkering with inators is now done one at a time (reject or accept first one without seeing second one)

Refriginator (Good): This miraculous device cools its interior, allowing it to store perishable food items for long periods of time, all at an affordable cost and minuscule environmental impact! (Gain 2 income from refrigerator sales.)
Refriginator (Bad): ...Unfortunately most people aren't used to their appliances coming equipped with self-destruct buttons. (Lose 2 income fighting the resulting class action lawsuit.)

I am deeply humbled by how many people have adopted what I think was my innovation of coming up with paired Good/Bad versions of the same inator.

Because with Doof, it is always, always easy to imagine how the same inator could go horribly wrong or horribly right.

Rags-To-Riches-Inator (Self): Your minions have been getting on your case lately about your finances. Apparently spending "obscene" amounts of money on a sandwich made your accountants kind of mad. So obviously, the solution is to make more money. All you have to do is point this Inator at some of your old clothes you were going to throw away and presto, free cash! You gain 5 income. Unfortunately, it turns out that even if it's indistinguishable from the real thing, the government is on the lookout for money appearing out of nowhere. You must succeed on an Intrigue national action to launder the laundry turned money, or else you lose the money and suffer an opinion penalty with the US government. You can put off the Intrigue action, but you can't spend the income until you do.

Unfortunately, you accidentally aimed at a mirror that was reflecting a big pile of laundry instead, sending the beam out the window. A random king gains 5 income, but must succeed on an Intrigue national action to launder the laundry turned money or lose the money and suffer an opinion penalty with the US government. They can put off the Intrigue action, but they can't spend the income until they do.

BEHOLD!

The Foreign-Exchange-Inator (Good)
Select a King and a hero unit, for the next three turns that King will have one of their hero units swapped with the unit you selected. The unit you temporarily gain from this is random but weighted towards being at least equivalent to what you gave. For some reason they're unable to tell you what they've been working on or betray their real employer, but at least they'll obey you for now.

The Foreign-Exchange-Inator (Bad)
A King and hero unit are randomly selected, for the next three turns that King will have one of their hero units swapped with the unit that was rolled. What unit you gain from this is random, and slightly weighted towards being a little worse than what you gave. For some reason they're unable to tell you what they've been working on or betray their real employer, but at least they'll obey you for now.
