I'd flip, but my personal take on gambling is "never gamble with things you are not already prepared to lose".

Almost anything else, I'd be willing to take the risk, but I really want the full set of talismans, and they are all one-of-a-kind.

we've been told that Horvath comes from old money,

If that money still exists, it's relevant, but Horvath has also been stuck inside an object for the greater part of a century.

Okay.

Final thought.

So far, David Xanatos has mostly been doing impulse purchases, since our Intrigue rolls have been providing us with information about how he reacts to stuff.

Owen Burnett is his expert in all things Occult, whose loyalty is just about absolute and whom Xanatos trusts implicitly in all matters, including the wellfare of his son. Owen has, by design, a wooden persona with strict self-control.

This has gotten a reaction out of him.

In conclusion, I think that Xanatos is going to go for the Encantus, on Owen's advice, and I think that it is going to be the Merlinian one. If I am right about his motivations, this would be about his son and beating him here may genuinely upset him.

Of course, it is possible that all this also applies to the Talisman thanks to our poor Intrigue roll there, but I think this interpretation best fits the clues we have regarding the Encantus.

Also, if he does need the Talisman, we can let him borrow it... assuming, of course, he has something we want he'll let us borrow. A fair trade, of course.
So in a different line of thought we are going to do a blackout on the Dossel communication.

Honestly I think most of the kings will avoid them just because of how fucking irritating dealing with their shit will get on the regular. Doof is, sort of ironically, the best positioned to handle that.

It seems pretty obvious that the Talisman vote is going to win. That's alright, I guess, we'll just have a much higher dc on Magitech if we don't get the Encantus later down the line, as well as more difficulty increasing our occult abilities.

Hopefully we get the Encantus before the Magic Masquerade is shattered, I think that it'll be much more difficult after that happens, or that having the Encantus would be much more valuable if we had it beforehand.

Eh....

Horvath is probably going to do two split bids, probably low end, for the talisman and the merlinian encantus.

Xanatos is probably going to do the same, perhaps with an Encantus focus.

Demona is probably the buyer who paid before the auction and probably low on funds after that and the sword.

Weird Redhead and Wall Street Wizard remain unknowns, both in funds and interests, though Pandarius may want the manual of alchemy.

A split focus is tempting but very risky.
I wouldn't count on any of those being low on funds. Made in Heaven made it a point to specifically imply that they likely aren't low on funds and likely won't make low-end bids
Remember, Horvath didn't spend anything, neither did the other redhead, or Pandarus. Take that into account when making your plans.

Edit: Also, Xanatos bought the sword, not Demona.

Its more of making sure none of them can use our tech to talk to them or send a Diplo expert to talk her into helping them. She does represent a lot of military power and with how some of the other kings have whole worlds or powering up the US army we going to need something. Sure, when the superheros were gone the other villains found a lot of firepower turned their way. But The 19th Lord of Uranos' Kingdom's Tempest Domain, Drossel Juno Vierzehntes Heizregister Fürstin von Flügel has the forces to fight off for a while humanity from the 49th millennium.

[X] Plan: Expert Advice

Oh yeah, to become a Master in the Huntsclan you need the kill a dragon; that's what they mean by "reptilian skull" as a helmet.

[X] Plan: Expert Advice

I'd rather go with the more sure option. Besides, Magica said an Encantus, which implies there are more out there, both Morganian and Merlinian. My advice? Go out on that World Tour as soon as possible to see if we can find one

like the wiki for it states that there are many copies of the ecantus. which is why i am going for the amulet becouse that one is unique

That's a good point if true.

I'd like to make that a priority after moving the castle and getting the coven.

And recruiting juniper next turn to get her dance magic.

funny thing about the totem thing is that we can look for crimes which doom has done laughably easy if he as a toon doesn't have any defenses against it. Heck we could maybe even possess him and have him deliver said evidence to us. discretely of course. That or any number of things we can do to get him permanently out of our way.

Are any of them specifically interested in the tailsman or the Morganian Encanti? From what I could tell, no one wants the morganian one besides Janna and maybe Owen, while the tailsman seems more general interest than anyone wanting it, although we did only pass the first level of the intrigue check, so might be wrong.

The fact that they aren't making low end bids doesn't matter unless they're aiming for stuff we want.

That being said, at this point I don't really care which of the two leading plans wins, admittedly

I was actually planning more along the lines of playing Middleman with Drossel and the US government. There is still fighting going on across all the borders of the Tempest Domain, and I'd bet Uncle Sam wants to stop that. Since Drossel also wants to sue for peace, we get cookie points on both ends by doing something that benefits us anyways and that we were already planning on doing.

Besides, reaching out to the U.S. and telling them we can negotiate a peace with an alien power from the 49th century on their behalf is likely to be message enough. After all, if we are the only ones who can communicate with these people, and they're willing to listen to us, what else could we convince them to do?

Speaking of Agent P, did we ever do anything about developing that Platypus-Rescucinator that was probably just a joke but is also probably going to end up as an inator crit because this quest is like that? Imagine Perry coming back only to find out we're his boss.

Again:

Perry will not come back ever and any attempt to bring him back - especially via time travel - will net us a Bad End.

So, if only one hero at a time can use the Scrolls, who do you think we should have use them first? On the one hand, upgrading Temujin even more would make him terrifying, while on the other, Tobe and his ninjas would probably appreciate a boost.
