Brockton's Celestial Forge (Worm/Jumpchain)

Well... I was going to pull up the fate servant supplement (for jumpchains) and show yall about how it says clearly that Rank E= 10x peak human and Ex = 500x Peak human... but it's on version 2.6 now and is written pretty different than when I looked at it in version 1.4. In the old version it also shows that you *have* to buy a class and that the Jumper Class is 50 points (and you can rename it something else), thus leaving the 550 for Item Creation A+++.

If anyone knows where to find the old version of the fate servant supplement please let me know. I can only find this one. (Which is better, but not relevant to this story)

The Enigmas (The Shallow)
Yes! Please someone write an Omake about this! Please. My muse is in a coma right now so if someone else could do it? Maybe even YOU WHO IS READING THIS RIGHT NOW?
Well, Ask and Ye Shall Receive
But as funny as the idea is, I had to play with the roles a bit.
The Enigmas
Geoff looked around "I suppose Apeiron won't be coming?"

The tension in the room built even quicker with his question. All eyes quickly drifted to the Undersiders, only for the door to open "I wouldn't say that."

In strode a figure in an orange sweater and red skirt. Wearing Apeiron's mask. Following behind The Enigmatic Artificer was two individuals. One was wearing a white shirt with an orange bandana tied around his neck, the other was wearing a purple dress on top of pink leggings, both wearing Apeiron-like masks. White-Shirt's mask gave the image of a military commander, while Dress's mask gave the image of a watchful guard, with how it emphasized the owlish eyes of the lenses.

Behind them was two individuals in fucking power armor- wait no. One of them was the Stealth Suit that had recovered Apeiron, and it was wearing a green shirt and blue jeans. The other was in the others style, but it's colors were shades of Fire, and it wore a dog collar with a familiar icon engraved on it...

Geoff looked over the whole assembly. As with any work of Apeiron, it all looked good, and there was a sense of cohesiveness across the entire team, but it so obviously meant to be the Scooby Doo crew. Did that make White-Shirt the leader? Why the fuck were they even wearing these outfits?!

Apeiron and his team all sat at the table, casually as if it were the most normal thing, and Apeiron cleared his throat "I apologize for my slight tardiness. I would like to introduce my associates before things start, just so we're all on the same page. Meet Fleet, Survey, Lethe, and Vulkana."

He indicated each one, and Geoff just blinked. He glanced towards Coil, who seemed to be completely frozen in shock. Uppercrust and Kaiser were similarly showing no emotion, while the Undersiders, the tailed Case 53, and Merchants were obviously freaking out. That Tattletale Girl was pulling at her hair, palms digging into her eyes.

Coil cleared his throat, a smile returning to him "Good evening, everyone. We're here to discuss the state of the city going forward, now that the ABB, as an organization, has been neutralized."

Earlier that day...

"Ok, but why do I have to be Shaggy?"

"Aisha, we've discussed this. The more unexpected the outfits, the more everyone will be thrown off their game."

"Which is why you're ok wearing orange knee-high socks?"

Joe sighed "They're a decent method of disguising a Striker, in case things go south at the meeting."

"Still, Scooby Doo?"

"Most iconic five-man band. Also, very unexpected."

"Scooby Doo though..."

Survey's android spoke up, a list appearing above her hand "Of all other options, this one was selected as the most optimal."

"I still think going with Web Of Magic Characters would've been better. Joe could make all of the gear!"

Joe gave her a hard look, and she sighed "Fine. I'll be Shaggy."

Thank you. It's great. I was going to write on, but writing is so hard. It took me 6 months to finally get my brain to write that Oni Lee Omake.

One more thing before bed:
How could anyone forget Tetra's Cape name from her debut during the Lung fight?
Pro Aima.
yup yup, the name I suggested to Lord a looooong time ago. Made me so happy when Lord wrote it in.

Proto Aima. That would cause some M I L D C H A O S
I mean, Ancient Greek For "First Blood"? What could possibly go wrong?!
The Freakout would be B I B L I C A L
I recall Vicky knew what it meant and shared it with the other Wards which made them nervous. I imagine it won't really be that big of a deal, after all, there's a lot more to be worried about when it comes to the limitless Apeiron.

I mean, they interpreted it as him saying the first time he had bled, but if a cape shows up to the Rock with that same Red Nightmare Energy Mode with that name, it might cause some questions to be asked. First and Foremost, what is this cape's capabilities, being the main holder of that power, assumably with some sort of control/defense component Apeiron lacks. Also, why "First Blood", and why in ancient greek. Also why Apeiron called out to her, laughing, during the battle.

I have two links for you... first, here is a link to Brockton's Celestial Forge Reference, specifically opened at the jumpchain docs tab. You can find all of the jumpdocs that the forge perks are derived from there. To save the trouble, here is the Fate Servant one: .

So! I'm too lazy to actually bother opening up the Celestial Forge Perk-list document, but let's talk about Ars Magica's Perks. For example, Enchanting lets you enchant things with whatever you could think up as a spell from that setting, from a knife that makes cuts that make the victim insane until the wounds heal to things like an amulet that detects beings hostile to it's wearer within 100 meters and sets them on fire, but it'd be time-consuming (in the range from 'several months' to 'a few years') to research and then actually create each enchanted item, with more powerful items taking more time and more vis. That's not exactly a problem, since 'Celestial Forge OP, plz don't nerf'. Buying Enchanting a second time cuts down your enchanting time required to a third and lets you put ANY magical effect as an enchantment. If you thought this wasn't good enough, we're getting to the actual good bit.

Verditius Enchanting, a 200CP perk, requires Enchanting. You'd think from it's cost that it's relatively weak. It is not.
You may forge items from raw materials as a part of enchanting the crafted item, and
your mundane crafting ability improves your enchanting skill and vice versa.
These effects scale with your skill in the relevant field(s) with no
upper limit.
In other words - the better you are at making that item, the better the enchantment will be and the better at enchanting you are, the better that item will be. You may now take a moment to think about the implications of that.
But that's not all.
When you enchant an item, you may also alter it cosmetically in any way you like, so long
as it does not change the physical or magical properties of the item.
Rather nice, goes with Apeiron's theme well, would help with design when making stuff.
In addition, when
crafting an item, its final form may be impossible to make by mundane means. For
example, you may set a gem within wood such that it cannot be removed without
breaking the wood, and you may accomplish this without breaking or cutting the wood
yourself.
There are many ways this can be abused.

These aren't the only Perks from there that could be relevant, like Folk Witch(400CP), but that's all I have the energy for today.
Thank you for reading!

Ars Magica does not exist on version one celestial forge, so will not be appearing in this story. I see it shows up in version 3, though, and there are several stories based on that version...

But yeah, Mythic Forge makes creation time insane, due to the fact that time isn't even happening anymore.
Even better, the mana costs scales to size (if I understand things correctly) so making divine nanomachines should be a breeze for Works of Timeless Eternity: Mystic Forge. Then again, we haven't even seen it being fully activated by name so who knows what its upper limits are, still, anything to mitigate that E rank mana.

I am now imagining Apeiron building a bunch of small magitech lasers then upgrading them with bandit gunsmith to the size of a mountains to remotely transfer its power through Territory Creation and divine constructs into Mystic Forge so he can create any divine construct he wishes in the field with nigh infinite mana batteries.

Territory creation allows for the creation of "Workshops" or "Temples" which reduce the cost of mana within them, although at just E rank it will be difficult, but with his knowledge of Alchemy, Joe could easily transfer mana out of Call Gems to fuel his own magic, within a Workshop. Magitech Lasers is not necessarily necessary, though that is his chief way of duplicating mana, excluding the constant multiplication of Workaholic and material reduction powers.

Territory Creation also increases the power and versatility of spells. I mentioned lasers as Bandit Gunsmith is a vital part of Joe's rapid mana production technique. True, it isn't necessary, but it would be very easy for a clone or a sympathetically linked divine construct mystic code to project mana batteries continuously. Actually, he could leave the Avid Glove behind in the workshop and produce mana from it since he can cast spells through it and it counts as him.

Speaking of something I am wondering about (not complaining, simply curious), after looking at the jump doc, why did Lord choose the Jumper class? Sure, it and A+++ Item Construction equal 600, but Caster with two rank downs in agility, personalized class name, and A+++ Item Construction also equals 600 but would have A rank Mana and B rank Luck and still would be the Crafter class with C rank Magecraft and a C rank Noble Phantasm. Was it done for balance reasons?

Edit: got the math wrong, castor 275 + 25 for name + 250 Item Construction A+++ = 550, enough left over to maybe upgrade Territory creation to C rank or something, and no need to lower any parameter.

It seems Lord was using V1.4 of the jump, where the Classes have differing prices. Jumper costs 50cp as opposed to Caster's 275, and I think LR tries to avoid discounts?

I mean, the ancient greek has an obvious explanation - because Apeiron is Also named in ancient greek, and they're debuting on his team. Honestly, Fleet and Survey should also get Ancient Greek cape names. Even just taking the names of ancient greek heroes or demi-gods or the like would be fine. I'm just a big fan of the ancient-greek theming Apeiron has going on. It's a cool aesthetic.

it seems less like "avoid discounts" and more just making judgement calls on which to use to add flavor - IIRC, Joe got the Int-boosting labcoat from Fallout because LR decided that he would naturally have the scientist origin, and the labcoat is free for Scientists in the doc. I could be completely wrong there, but that's the way I remember it.
(also before anyone cuts in, I'm aware the labcoat doesn't literally boost Joe's intelligence but rather increases focus and confidence in INT tasks or something along those lines.)

Yeah, this line made me think of various times similar pseudo origins have been used:
Fate Servant Supplement (old) said:
Servants who are primarily magic users and famous for such take the Caster class
as their own. It also includes inventors, writers, artists and other famous crafters
or creators.
but, you know, what we got was beyond awesome and I am certainly not complaining. I very much enjoy the new perk, I just wanted to understand the thought process.

Thanks to all that have chimed in :)

Maybe team name Hammer and Anvil?
Edit: Just realized in English it's 'rock and a hard place' so it doesn't work. Damnit.

Ancient Greek Names does actually work, considering Lethe's name. Still think calling themselves "Olympians" would be like "Jesus's Angels" to Joe, even if he isn't a practicing hellenist. Still, Proto Aima would have a lot of questions. Just Aima maybe, but Proto Aima would lead to people asking all the other questions I detailed.

You're correct, but just minor correction there was a free purchase of equipment, specifics based on your Origin, and LR chose scientist due to the labcoat and raygun (powered with fusion batteries).
A team of capes? Don't be silly, it's just Apeiron, his Chauffeur, his "daughter", his Assassin, and his Lawyer. His Chauffeur, daughter, and Lawyer don't have powers, so the only cape among the four of them is Apeiron.
His Assasin is actually a Parahuman, but she works for him like the rest of them, so can you really call them a team?

Heroic Spirits as a (heavily bent, subverted, and sometimes flatly broken) rule are better than any Mortal Magecraft. E Rank isn't very powerful in Heroic Spirit terms. In Magecraft terms, it should be beyond any Mortal Mage-Wizard person within the Nasuverse.

The thing is, the whole "peak human" benchmark for servant ability doesn't literally refer to the abstract theoretical limit of human potential. It doesn't account for truly exceptional individuals who are punching out of their metaphysical weight class, let alone for the ways in which humanity as a whole has the potential to change and become something stronger than it is now.

So saying that a Servant is "beyond human limits" is just a way of saying that they're beyond the limits that ordinary humans experience. It's a chuuni way of saying that they're all larger-than-life Heroes.

There's still usually no contest between humans and Servants, mind, because your average magus can only bend the laws of the Human Order a little. But there's no fiat mandate in effect which says that a Servant is always automatically stronger than every other human in existence.

That it often plays out that way in canon is instead a consequence of the diminished Mystery in the modern era in general - the exceptional individuals of today have to compete with the exceptional individuals of the past, and the Heroes of the past get the benefits of a Mystery bonus that the Heroes of today lack.

Well if we are going with team names to fit the Greek theme, why not something like Pandora? Or even better, The Argonauts. Though personally, it'd be more amusing to call them The Aggro-nauts.

EDIT: Bloody auto-corrupt
