Brockton's Celestial Forge (Worm/Jumpchain)

It's been a while since I posted an omake, let's correct that.

This was inspired by a similar omake on another story, and I realized it could work here too.

XXX

The Great Creator

"Alright, what happened?" I sighed as I looked over the devastation before me.

I had been in the middle of a sparring match with Tybalt when I received an urgent message from my duplicates to come to Survey's scrying room. Once I arrived, I found the room a mess, with both of my duplicates fixing the damage.

Fortunately, the room was so heavily warded, no one outside probably heard or felt anything.

"Well" one of my duplicates started. "We decided to upgrade Survey's mirror."

I looked at the dozens of new mirrors lining the walls of the room. "I understand that, but how does that explain the damage?" I asked.

"The new mirrors with Craftsmen of the Gods can give new properties." Explained the second duplicate. "We were building prototypes to see what was possible."

I motioned for him to continue.

"Alright, the mirrors have additional properties, but the ones here all have different properties. It seems that Master Craftsman, Daedalus' Student, and Craftsmen of the Gods all synergize pretty well. We were just starting to test the mirrors and used one that showed images of the past."

I blinked. "How does that cause this mess?"

"Well, it turns out that under the right circumstances, relatively small amounts of energy can pass through the mirror." the second duplicate continued.

"Now that we know that can happen, we can build the mirror so it doesn't happen" Added the first duplicate.

"OK, I think I get it, you observed something in the past and energy passed through the mirror to create this mess." I said. "What were you looking at?"

"Well, as the objective was to determine the limits of the mirror, I attempted to look as far into the past as I could." Survey said.

"Turns out the mirror can look as far into the past as possible." added my second duplicate.

I blinked at the implications. "Wait, you observed the big bang?" I asked.

"Seems like it." Replied my first duplicate, as he transferred the experience of the event.

I felt a headache coming on. "Alright, I guess that explains that. Anything else I should know?"

"Well, Survey might count as the creator deity of the multiverse." My second duplicate quipped.

"What?" I asked.

"Well, according to our calculations, the big bang extended through multiple, possibly all of the universes in existence." Said my first duplicate. "It seems that it would have generated enough matter and antimatter in the proper positions to cancel itself out, but the small amount of matter and antimatter that leaked through the mirror created a chain reaction that destabilized the equilibrium. That resulted in some universes having an abundance of matter and some having an abundance of antimatter, the pattern that we see continue to play out today."

I stared blankly at my duplicates and Survey as I reviewed the data provided. After a deep breath, I responded.

"Nope, this is going with the demigod genetics, Satan summoning, and soul use as shit I'm not going to deal with." I stated as I walked out the room, trying to put the encounter out of my mind.

By which story was this inspired?
Because the idea of someone accidentally creating the Big Bang via a Time Portal sounds exactly like a Story Omake I read over on the Sister Forum Questionable Questings.

I think everyone is forgetting that an impact can still carry through a shield even if the sheild doesn't break. Of course, he has some pretty damn good materials and designs to work with at this point, but it should be noted that anything that could send him flying, while it might not break his skin, could possibly shake his organs around inside of his ribcage and skull, which isn't a hundred percent ideal.
Doesn't exactly matter with how Fashion works. Remember - whatever defensive property is on his equipment, it applies to the entirety of him. So something being heatproof means even his insides are heatproof, something being bulletproof means he is bulletproof, etc. If his entirety is "doesn't seem to ever break", then that means exactly what that says on the tin.
Which seques into Dragon. Why is he delaying helping her? Is he waiting for the Spiritron to fully power up?
If I recall correctly since Joe is working on the order of "which problem can blow up in my face first", considering Dragon's apparently been "Mastered" for a long time now without people noticing, and the other problems could literally end up destroying the city in a week if Joe mishandles them, Joe is currently prioritizing the gangs and the incoming S9.

It's likely to happen when the S9 confront Joe. Jack will throw Sib' at him (PANIK), she won't even scratch him (KALM), then she will "spontaneously" pop because one of the other Celestial Forge member killed Manton behind the scene (PANIK). While everything is broadcast live.

Joe: "you see, Jacky, even William Manton can't do anything to me"
Cauldon PANIK
Joe: "now say goodbye to your powers"
Cauldon PANIIIIIIK
Jack: "wait, powers, plural ?"
Joe: "...you never realized you had a master power ? That's how your little group of murder hobos got away for so long"
Cauldon PANIIIIIIK
Joe: "Sadly for you, I'm immune to masters"

Thank you for the chapter LordRoustabout, i love it! <3

I've been meaning to ask for the longest time but have been putting it off because i keep forgetting to do it after a chapter releases, so!

First, about the item that arrived with the ToAru micromanipulators, Analysis Tools i believe? What happened to them? I know they weren't forgotten or anything as i remember them being mentioned in a "recent" (20-30 chapters ago) chapter, but i mainly want to ask because of the Alchemy Machine from Shivers, to know if the Analysis Tools were miniaturized in the same way.

Secondly, one of the perks from the Macross jump, Ambrosial Artificer maybe? The one that simplifies designs and removes useless parts, i know you might have talked about if they affect biology before, but what i wanted to know is if you are going to treat the improvements granted by that perk as applying to biology the same way it did to aeronautical engineering, that is, simplifications and size reductions causing cascades of improvements through the affected design, as biology has interactions really similar to the thrust to weight to aerodinamics that you mentioned in the chapter that perk arrived, especially as evolutionary designs are riddled with inneficient and conterproductive methodologies.

Have a great day and thank you for brightening our lives with your work!

Damn, now I wanna see Joe in hand-to-hand combat with the Siberian, and the sheer PANIC of everyone when he completely shrugs off the hits.
Considering how the Siberian pops like a bubble the moment she comes into contact with anything that disrupts her (like Clockblocker's effect, Sting and other All or Nothing attacks) it's quite likely that just touching Apeiron would inadvertently disrupt her form. She'll immediately reform soon after, true, but that'll be enough for Survey to immediately track Manton down and one apparation later...

Also i a
Wait!

Every great couple needs a ship name like Bennifer or Brangelina!

The only name I can think of is Studebarker, barker because of Rachel's dogs and that Studebaker is an automobile manufacturer.

I am pretty sure that Rachel meant Date in Sense as a Synonym for meeting someone not in the a date sense (as in dating someone).

Nah, Rachel's been expressing a crush ever since the meeting at Somer's Rock. Lisa expected the interests on Survey from the male members of the team, but Rachel outright blushing over Fleet had thrown her off so much that she was actually silent for a few seconds when it first came up. Even then though, it's kind of surprising that Rachel would just go for it at first opportunity, though perhaps I should've expected that.

Ah sorry that was quite poorly written from me.

What I actually meant was while Rachel might be interested in Fleet sexually (considering she only spoke a few words with him), Fleet himself was highly likely just glad for the opportunity to fulfill his purpose as a Training Ai for Vehicles and thus arranged a Meeting/Date with Rachel.
When informing her Team Rachel simply used Date as a Synonym for Meeting someone (maybe subconsciously trying to make this something more meaningful especially with the Question about dressing Up her Hair afterwards).

In my opinion being on a date takes both Peoples knowledge otherwise it's just a meet up where one Person has romantic/sexual interest in the other.

The thing is, Fleet learned from Joe and is literally so single-minded about vehicles that it became his core instinct, so he could be just as dense at romance as Joe could be. Rachel could've outright asked him out and got a yes because Fleet wants to have first person perspective of what it is like to ride a dog. As far as Rachel is concerned, it is a date, while for Fleet, it's just an experience.

And your opinion, while valid, is not applicable in this case as clearly she is getting the whole "first date" jeebies and that's all that matters. Besides, dating doesn't have to be romantic to start. That's the entire point of dating people - to get to know them better first.

"Called him, like Alec said. I said hi, he said hi. Talked about my dogs. He asked where I learned how to ride. Said I taught myself. Asked if I wanted to practice. Had tomorrow night free, so we're going out." She explained.
"So, you're going riding with Fleet?" Alec asked, working to keep his humor contained.

Ah, practice 'riding' on a first date :p

If all his weapons cannot break anymore, this has both good AND bad conditions attached.

Good:
Guided hyper-velocity KKVs now become reusable. Infinitely. Or in short, Joe needs to build some of Gundam 00's beam bits with an internal generator for nigh-infinite powered-up endurance, and a gravitic VTOL/movement system.

Bad:
Missiles and grenades? Won't work anymore.

Actually, for the Nasuverse the whole thing about Armsthrift is supposed to be impossible.

Joe uses Gradiation Air to make a magic sword of great power. Normally, it should be weaker in nearly every possible manner along with more happening over time till it is no more due to Gaia.

But now with that new perk, any weapon Joe Projects will more then likely no longer take any interference from Gaia and cannot be broken.

He has gotten closer to the First True Magic then anyone else without it!

[Annihilator effect slams Into Joe, the surrounding villians holding their breath as they watch tossed how much Damage he suffered]

Joe: Waves smoke aside
"Damn, that actually scuffed my boots. Can I try now?"

Everyone else: Fear™️

I foresee Joe stopping the Siberian by locking hands with the Projection and more or less popping it.

Seeing this Jack Slash takes a route no one thought he would take, all to face off against Apeiron.

Jack Slash(Butcher XV)

Jack learning he has a Master Power could be the thing that pushes him to become the next Butcher as his power could get a handle on the other voices and any new bodies that he could gain.

Shit, Butcher Jack Slash would be practically immortal wouldn't he. Best bet would involve getting the two echoes of Heroes inside the mind to help from the inside.

Loved the chapter, Alec's POV was pretty amusing. When Brian and Joe find out about Ashia I can just imagine Alec on the sideline eating popcorn, having stolen Lisa's detective hat going "just as I deduced dear Watson" to Lisa while she loses her mind.

I figured Ashia would overly dramatically confess to "selling" herself to Joe to free her brother from his overwhelming debt, before sliding her that she's pretty much the Robin to Joe's Batman.

Though with her recent character development I suspect she would only do that after explaining things.

Bakuda's timestop isn't perfect, like Dauntless Joe would have moments of awareness that would allow him to use projection/gradation air in order to instantly create something to disable the effect, and that's assuming he doesn't just teleport out, or Joe might maintain consciousness throughout the effect because most of Joe's thinking no longer actually occurs in his head and brain.

Joe can teleport, open portals, and can travel through the workshop, banishing him to another dimension won't even inconvenience him
.
Mental Fortress protects from outside influence, and body puppeteers and manipulators like Regent and that guy who possessed Alexandria will run headfirst into his non-human demigod life-fiber chimera hybrid body, and Cyborg Hindu God Body.

Let's be honest in a fight Joe might not be guaranteed to win, but he's definitely unbeatable
Being Mastered is no longer an issue with his Mental Fortress, remember? And stuff like teleportation and time stop are things that can still affect him, yeah, but those are stuff he can build items to counter for. Instantly on the field at that, with his Noble Phantasm. The only thing that was his remaining weakness at that point was all-or-nothing attacks, Sting in particular that he just couldn't build around like for everything else like Damsel of Distress and Scrub, but now even Sting can't harm him.

Mastering is covered by mental fortress. Scrub can't teleport him what happens with Scrub is if Labyrinth taps another earth and he uses his power on the area while she's tapping it a permanent portal is created but it still has to be walked through there is no teleporting so Scrub would have to force him through it (he can't) and since it can't be closed stop him walking back through. Additionally since this could be potentially done with say doormaker it doesn't matter because if Joe gets access to a door including making one he can enter the workshop then use the link to switch the door it's tied to back to one on Bet.

The time warping effects also have to hit him Joe has extensive senses and invested in stuff to counter grenades and the like in general so Bakuda's aren't an issue because other than his very first patrol out he hasn't been hit by any and they have now lost the oni lee delivery method. On top of all that Joe's np allows instant field crafting with countercraft giving a bonus to countering effects that are targeting him and various other perks helping him come up with solutions if he even needs it since he has the dmc teleportation on top of apparition to the point he doesn't need the turn to do it so he could just teleport out or away.
You three should work on your reading comprehension
He might have other abilities that are just as effective against some of these things, or allow him to work around the things he isn't immune to,
I didn't think it worth mentioning every single perk by name that makes him immune to something that his new one won't help with when I could acknowledge that they exist. The point was that vulnerabilities can exist still, something the in-story Celestial Forge agrees with given its uncertainty on Joe vs Scion.

Ah, the "Other people misunderstood what I had written, therefore it is just their fault." Because clearly, it was 100% clear that this was what you meant:

when the original comment was:
He might be unbreakable now, but that doesn't protect against everything. It alone wouldn't stop Bakuda from timestopping him, or canon Scrub from teleporting him to another Earth. Or being Mastered. He might have other abilities that are just as effective against some of these things, or allow him to work around the things he isn't immune to, but the Worm multiverse has the potential for a very broad array of detrimental effects to exist within it and Joe is still vulnerable to some of them.
At the very least, don't insult other people's reading skills just for misunderstanding you, especially when you worded things in such a way that implied Joe had no such defenses in the first place.

Jack Slash( Butcher XV)
I mean, from several WoG's, it's unlikely that Jack could even enter the Brockton Bay proper before Apeiron mobilizes the Celestial Forge against the S9. So while that's a cool idea, unless the Butcher actively goes for Jack somehow before Joe could mobilize and commits suicide on Jack Slash, it's kind of unlikely that they'll even encounter each other.
