Brockton's Celestial Forge (Worm/Jumpchain)

The item I received was called the Glove of the East. Counting the gauntlet from my lantern shield I now had received four glove-related items from my power. Considering that started with Garment, it was understandable where Aisha's teasing was coming from.
Lemme count.
1. The micrometer precision gauntlets.
2. The animated fashion gloves now known as Garment.
3. The gauntlet that came as part of the RWBY lantern shield.
4. The organic glove with the eye that keeps crawling around everywhere and biting things.
5. This new "Glove of the East".

...Are you sure that's four?

Now there were rolling hills, fields, forests, and a river leading to something between a lake and an inland sea, all surrounding something that looked like a college campus with a very diverse architectural history. Gothic masonry, Greek columns, modernist designs, brutalist structures overrun with vegetation, a domed library, and a collection of roads and footpaths crisscrossing the area in a design that seemed nearly random, but was actually based on precise optimization of the routes between the buildings.

I hope with every fiber of my being that Joe used the time to work through some of his issues. I'm not looking forward to even more angst and self-doubt, especially when Parian appears.😑

Don't care how elective it is in this place,

but so no reason to continue practicing the behavior.

That was evident now, as Dekalt could be seen curled around a stained-glass dome on one of the shiner buildings.

And we won't know how this is going to play out until we get them out of the real world.
I think it should be "out to the real world"?

There is the question of where the line between tinker and master really lies.

Fortunately, I had a supercarrier plotting out the answer to that exact question.
Supercarrier? Not supercomputer?

Will the next chapter be in Uppercrust's pov?
ngl I'm a bit disappointed cuz the call wasn't included. But looking forward to next week's chapter, as always!

So, they basically played modded minecraft on creative mode in their downtime? Very nice.

It sounds like they have the s9 fully figured out, they just know siberian has a remote aspect, they just haven't connected that she is a projection yet, but that should happen pretty easily. Will be nice to see the forge go all out on a target.

Also, joe's passenger only has worm info, right? It doesnt have ward knowledge? I would think it would be a lot more hostile to pancea and put a lot more emphasis on GG if it did.

Well another planning/review chapter. At this pace I'd ballpark... maybe six or so more updates until we actually confront he nine? Maybe a bit more, but I see at least one or two planning chapters, a suiting up chapter, a dialogue chapter, probably in the form of someone trying to contact Joe to warn him about the nine, an interlude from that person's perspective that reveals that the fight has begun, and then the actual fight beginning.

Possibly being interrupted by one or two chapters of exposition about rolled perks if he rolls something very juicy or that Lord wants to talk about a lot. Like the Chrono Trigger magic thing. Those ones very much earn a chapter themselves.

Of course, someone might do something stupid enough to warrant joe's attention before that which could expand this number considerably but... yeah that' my honest guestimate.

and is this your understanding of Jack canon ability or an AU element you intentionally introduced?
It looks basically consistent with his canon ability, if maybe a little bit more potent in its indirect effects on thinker analysis than what we see. (But the Thinker analysis we do see of him are Tattletale, Number Man, and Dinah, not exactly the average watchdog thinker with a bored shard).

Like, there was an instant in canon where Aisha walks up to him and decides to attack Cherish instead.

We do know that it takes longer to warn him about stuff that non-parahumans do (he couldn't do his bullshit dodging against a PRT officer with confoam), but it's certainly plausible that Broadcast would get advance warning and use Thinkers to interfere with larger efforts to respond to him.

and in my opinion the line is that a thinker can only work with existing levers sure they can know even deeply hidden levers but they can only accomplish as much as a skilled con artist who has a thoroughly researched background on the subject can
This was kind of brought up in Worm WoGs I believe after a scene where canon Aisha didn't shank Jack for some reason despite having the opportunity to under her power. Namely, it was "Jack's power convincing Aisha through her shard to not follow through". Of course, at the time it was not a very popular decision on the author's part.

No, you're way too optimistic. I say between 20-30 chapters until the Nine.
Why? Well, there's meeting with Uppercrust. Than there's obligatory few build-up chapters. Then there's Fleet preparation for meeting with Faultline and her crew and then the actual meeting. After this there's Alec call and maybe meeting with Joe therapist. After this a few build-up chapters. Then we can finally have Garment charity event. It will last at least 3-4 chapters with different point of view.
After this a few more build-up chapters and finally The Nine are detected by Survey. Joe start prep-time chapter and then engage them.
So yeah, 20-30 chapters until then.
It will be glorious but we have to wait a bit

of course that's still fairly scary but still not a master in my opinion

Really? You wouldn't call what Ziz does mastering? What Contessa does? What's the difference between mastering someone to do x and 'Path to making them do x'?

Satisfying chapter though. The conclusion was enjoyable and reading how it affected everyone.

Even if its increasing the Shipping Factor of Aisha as soon as she is legally an adult. Because that girl is going to carry a torch. More like a goddamn sun.

Has anyone ever invested in her as much as Joe? No one, really.

I could totally see her carrying a torch for a long, long time.

But that is just my reading of it.

The slaughterhouse analysis was satisfying in the extreme though. And makes me eager for what is to come.

All the more reason to invest more heavily into the Undersiders.

Rachel is going to want to be able to transform into a wolf. And Alec... Alec is going to be saved.

I still think he needs himself a Titan companion. Because the gamer that is Alec having a bonded Titan only makes sense to me.
