Do the Undersiders count as following Joe for the purposes of Oi!? I ask because the idea of them suddenly developing whatever accent Joe has is funny to me.

If we examine this thoroughly, Joe is a Brocktonite so has a local accent with Taylor and Brian being locals as well, with the rest being from elsewhere. Rachel's former home isn't mentioned to be Brockton same with Lisa coming from out of state with Alec being Canadian.
So if they do have their accents changed, Lisa and Alec will be the one's to notice, Rachel might not care at first but Lisa losing her shit would make for a great omake with Rachel playing the straight man. Though the perk says it takes a few days to work.
Just Another Grunt (Titanfall) Free:
What? You? Nah, you're not anyone important, just another grunt here. The danger you pose is constantly undervalued, and you are often passed over for other targets. When surrounded by your cannon fodder brethren, its virtually impossible to pick you out.
It occurs to me that the PRT are going to take this perk as more evidence that Joe is a power tinker.
"Previously Kataklyzein's stranger power only worked on those who were unaware of him. We have confirmed that the effect is now active on everyone, albeit at a reduced level of effectiveness. Clearly this is proof positive that Aperion is tinkering with powers!"
Albeit when people mention Tybalt squaring the fuck up with someone and them not reacting until they start sporting stab wounds, realistically a lovetap from Tybalt could put someone in a full body cast, and he can react fast enough to send entire teams of Capes (who mostly have baseline human durability) to the ICU.
If he ever actually acts with hostile intent, the only evidence he's going to leave behind is going to be across the ceiling and walls. It's like, 'yeah it's hard to figure out what's going know when you've got a couple holes in your lungs' is canon Worm shit. Aisha could do that.
The slightest effort from Tybalt would look like the aftermath of Kratos going on a rampage. Drown in blood? More like have your entire ribcage turn to powder, moments before you get vaporized. I hesitate to think if anyone will be able to figure out its even Tybalt attacking them, and not just someone firing high speed, precision artillery strikes at them.
So, Hard Science from the Raildex Universe. It is completely deadly to someone who has magic, so with the Shard/Magic Equivalence, no granting it to Aisha or any other Parahuman, and there should probably be tests to make sure there isn't a certain potential brain tumor to avoid future... incidents. But my question is, what else would count as magic? Would Aura? Goodness knows RWBY itself has went back and forth on this, so it would depend on what LordR says, is there WOG on this issue? Would certain types of Alchemy count as magic? And here's an issue: Synchronicity Event, which boosts all Psionics and would give Jozef the ability to awaken Psionics in others, is itself in (among others) the Magic Constellation. Does this mean that F.E.A.R. based psionics is partly magic, and therefore incompatible with Certain Scientific Railgun psionics? Also, given Jozef's ... reluctance.. to open up to others, is this all a purely theoretical exercise, because no way would he ever give psionics (either the Raildex or F.E.A.R. type) to anyone outside the Celestial Forge membership anyway. Also, Tybalt. I suppose even if Aura does not count as magic, he also has Strike Witch powers, so I'd guess no Raildex psionics for him either. How fiated is the Raildex magic explosive allergy? Is this something Jozef could fix with something other than Spiral Energy (because we don't want to awaken that too much)?
The Key Crest from Tales of Berseria (Edit: Symphonia, sorry) stops any malignant power manifestations. Esper's magic allergy (and vice versa) included.
Also, yes, RWBY Aura is magic (or at least connected to it in some not specified way). Here's a bit more about it:

It has been confirmed,i think, that there is a link between magic and semblances.
And if you need help with aura capabilities, you can go at spacebattles RWBY fets thread.
Also, good chapter and happy new year.
Happy New Year!
I have to say it is both disappointing and very typical of the RWBY staff to drip feed a lore detail that significant. Just confirmation of a link, no mechanics or anything that would let us understand the stakes when a semblance goes up against magic.
Sorry, I'll stop before general RWBY frustration comes out. It is slightly disappointing since the interaction means that magical countermeasures probably overcome defensive semblances, even incredibly specialized defensive abilities, a fact that may or may not be relevant to this story. Now I'm left to either hold off on exploring the concept or be one of the hundreds of writers who explore the mechanics on their own only to have all their (generally quite creative) work invalidated with a single update.
Wait, didn't I say I'd stop before RWBY frustration came out? Thanks for sharing the link, and once again Happy New Year.
So, if the Cat of War gets any disciples, he could start having them speak in Felyne? Or accented with Felyne.
*is imagining a group of rough warrior types buffed like Astartes speaking with cat noises thrown in here and there like they were catgirls, sipping on milkshakes given from their cat leader they all pay respect to*
Talking to Doug in a one-on-one setting made the attention I was devoting to suppressing my Efficiency power all the more obvious. Every little apprehensive motion or moment of consideration had to be directed to prevent that power from glossing it over and smoothing it out. It was a decidedly uncomfortable sensation in that I needed to direct myself to act unnaturally in order to avoid coming across as unnaturally.
They most definitely do. After all, he complains that acting is uncomfortable, not difficult. Which is probably a matter of personal opinion, not a skill. Also, listing all perks that help him with acting normal would probably kill the pace of a scene a bit.
Receptionist: err, let me get someone qualified for this?
Skidmark: take your time, I'll grab some coffee from the machine while you call someone
-some 3 minutes and a master/stranger check on the receptionist later-
Assault: hello, I heard you're here to surrender?
Skidmark: yup, come and take me away
Assault:... Okay I gotta ask, why
Skidmark: Coke cat
Assault:... what?
Skidmark: that fucking cat from the forge, it literally smoked, injected and snorted everything I had, EVERYTHING
Assault: so he's dead?
Skidmark: o fuck no, I wish! have you ever seen a coked-up berserker? Jesus Christ alive, it was a fucking massacre. and after he was done smoking my supply, thrashing my workshops, and beating the ever living shit out of people in a way that was more art than a fight he stole Squealer's tank and had that crazy look in his eye as he started playing Sabaton and driving towards the Nazi side of the Bay
I just wanna be behind bars before someone tries to pin all that bullshit on my ass!
Assault: *pinches himself* this is really happening? I'm not in some sort of drug-fueled fever dream?
Skidmark: I'd be genuinely surprised if there were any drugs left in the bay after that cat is done with it, that thing has a drug problem
Aperion gets 'style' power for his gear-
Aperion gets even more style powers for his gear, to the point it becomes essentially a signature-
Aperion gets the sexy pose power -
Aperion gets the innuendo talk power -
Aperion gets the Aphrodite blessing -
Aperion gets the combat freeze frame power -
Aperion: "Don't worry about it. It's just, ugh, something that wasn't supposed to be active."
Aperion gets the Enigmatic Artificer global effect -
The World: "Can we panic now?"
Aperion: "Stop, no, look, there's some reasonable explanations for that!"
Aperion / The Celestial Forge gets infectious accent power -
The World: "So this is how it end, nyat with a bang or a whimper but with an UWU. All because Aperinyan had to invent super fashion technowlogy even he couldn't turn off, OWO."
That's cursed and accurate. Like imagine the ability to just infect someones grand speech about something with meme speak. At will. That's just embarrassing.
Apeiron's primary iteration took a breath. "You know how unicornium is powered by rainbows?" Aisha nodded while demonstrating nervous body language. "And you know how we have a rainbow of new colors from the Prismatic Laboratory?"
'I could make a better bar than this.' They looked around at the dingy atmosphere. 'I could BE a better bar than this! Three-micron-thick nanobot shells would be able to emulate this entire establishment. With better drinks. And service!'
Matrix and Fleet are probably my two favorite characters in the fic, the first interlude from fleet perspective about "remembering the road" was like action hero level badass, I thought he was cool as a mecha-power armor that kicked ass even before we got into his head and saw what made him tick
Matrix disgust with the real world is hilarious and 100% understandable since he's basically material perfection made manifest XD I real can't see him go grey goo swarm because he doesn't want this disgusting place to be a part of him. I love it
That was a policy that couldn't stand. Not anymore. I have left behind any chance of that when I elected to bring the entire crew. I wasn't a lone wolf anymore; I was staking myself as a real player. And, as a consequence, I had to play. The days of sitting back and waiting for things to play out were over. The Time constellation missed a connection as I turned and smiled at the waitress.
FIC REC: author inspired by "Brockton's Celestial Forge".
Link: Equestrian Celestial Forge
"Equestrian Celestial Forge": Similar premise as BCF, except the benefits are randomly distributed among the Mane Six.
So far, there are 26 chapters, does a decent job exploring what characters think of various Perks ("lame!" and "nerd-stuff!" are common complaints by Rainbow Dash), and how their newfound gifts are mostly used to improve their current lifestyles: baking, farming, household chores, veterinary care, etc.

I just read all of this. Why is this one of the best CF stories I've yet come across?
Hmmm… probably because it has a pretty unique vision of what it wants to be compared to a lot of other CF story variations. Love to see it. Also, it hella satisfies my personal preference for characters studying/investigating crossover magic/science/phenomena. Would recommend to anyone here in a heartbeat.
"I am hard for cash." I said with a grin. "I've been coasting on my retainer and savings since this mess started. Probably going to have to end up begging from Garment to get by." I glanced over to where Survey was fretting over Garment's expansion into the magazine racks before desperately commissioning the Matrix for a flash assembled copy printer.
Shouldn't his clones music channel both bring in some revenue via youtube ads AND the fact that they are so skilled should have both private persons and corporations contacting them for payed work. Within like a week?
Legitimate money's hard for Joe to get hold of, and I'm unsure how quickly you can get payouts from a youtube career but it has been a very short timescale in-universe since the start.
"Sort of. He made his gear, but it was really low tech stuff. It just looked nice. The way he uses his powers is probably closer to Dauntless than Armsmaster. Totem cape stuff, items as a conduit for his power. What he had works for him but not anyone else."
"So basically useless for team support?" Not that that would be enough to kill the pressure to recruit. Not with how he fared tonight.
"There was some mechanical knowledge there. You can tell from how his gear was made. Access to a decent machine shop too. But no, he's not going to be churning out ray guns for anyone."
You can practically feel her smashing her head against a wall while looking back at that moment and wondering why she had to be a idiot after seeing what he can do a few days later.
