Brockton's Celestial Forge (Worm/Jumpchain)

So, this is from the Personal Reality jumpdoc and thus even if Joe has physical access to the Dyson it will be unusable for storing anything as per the overall personal reality purpose fiat until starting space gets upgraded enough times.
Being unable to use it as a storage, doesn't mean being unable to build things there. Like the ice ring or the sparring area in/on-to the volcano it likely doesn't stop the metallic simian or clones from constructing things. (If he does get the space anyway). And being unable to store items might just mean that it isn't fit for storage (before building it anyhow), as the workshop/laboratory has been used for storage purposes before.

I could see how one of the clones decides to build a 1/1 scale model of Brockton Bay (for testing purposes). Of course, it gets out of hand with Fleet wanting all his scale models/circuits to be real scale too. (creating an ever-expanding model of famous places, and eventually the world)

What with how Joe almost kinda-sorta stumbled onto Cauldron's existence in the latest chapter... do you think he remembers Number Man's challenge/message from all the way back in 30 Crescendo?

Sooo did I miss anything? Am I wrong about anything? If yes, let me know.
Joe could likely use something like alchemy and medical scans he has on the Undersiders to duplicate their Corona Pollentia or any other part of ther biology and make Teigu out of them. Getting a medical scan of anyone at this point is likely no harder than Joe being within a few feet of them.

It is now immediately and perfectly reasonable for all the world governments to submit to Apeiron as their new lord and master.

Why?

Because he has a fucking Dyson Sphere and all of Earth's energy issues would officially be over.

A Dyson Sphere is the kind of thing that, if revealed, has the potential to immediately cause whole sections of the world to immediately bend the knee. Because access to that level of energy production... energy is power and power is political.
Unfortunately, even with Joe's other powers, getting that energy out of the Personal Reality is a major bottleneck. It's probably more practical to leave the Dyson Sphere idle and ship out mass-produced fusion reactors.

Just a quick question. If Joe were to completly disassemble and than reassamble the Dyson Sphere, would his power that makes him built either 5 of everything or one thing with 5 times the mass duplicate/enlargen the star as well?

The volcano isn't from Personal Reality so it doesn't have the same limitations.

Why do people keep saying that Joe should do something with the Dyson Sphere, or go there? There is no Dyson Sphere.
The perk says "Personal Reality is now hooked up to the full power of a Sol-Class Star encased in a Dyson Sphere." not "Personal Reality is now hooked up to a Dyson Sphere encasing a Sol-Class Star." There is no Dyson Sphere. The perk means that PR has access to the same amount of energy, as Dyson Sphere generates when encasing a Sol-like star. There is no Sphere, there is no star, there's only power. It all goes on game logic, and all power outlets in his base are hooked up to an outer dimensional line of code saying [power output: yes].

Resources and Durability (300): Resources and Durability starts at 400 points.
Knowledge (500): Of the fifteen clusters in knowledge, four were available. Joe could have polished off the last of the Star Trek Skills, finally rolled the oft-missed Titanfall reverse engineering perk, been elevated from a mere Tech-Priest to an Arch-Magos, or gained the Plecian Tome (A book of Warhammer 40K knowledge which is very hard to use) just after Survey got magic library powers to make it practical to use it.

You jumped from 300 to 500 here.

Also, isn't Blasto supposed to have a piece of the Simurgh that he uses to create The Morrígan? It would make a decent basis for an anti-Endbringer weapon, or even potentially an anti-Zion weapon.

No not yet in canon he allies with Accord later on in canon and he starts to make it before the s9 atks his lab which occurs after the s9 have atked the bay so is months off. It is specifically the samples Accord provides with the lab including the s9 and endbringer dna that allows him to do this and later Bonesaw to copy his cloning and have the samples for the 100 or so clones she makes. In bcf Blasto has already been driven out of Boston and isn't keen on going back so he doesn't have the samples.

Joe is going to look like an Entity at this rate to Scion and that is not a good thing. It means it will bring out anti entity counter measures instead of squish puny humans for funsies powers.
On the other hand, Scion's one real hope for going forward is another entity showing up that can fill the Thinker role for him. If Joe can come up with a viable alternative to the Cycle, then we could possibly have Scion joining the Celestial Forge as an endgame.

I'd argue it wouldn't effect the star unless he somehow did something to it, since unless he did that it's be like some pocket knife in a bag, or a desk in a house, getting upgraded because he upgraded the bag/house

"New Workshop addition." I explained over a public channel. "We have a dedicated power source." The amusement was clear in my voice, and I could see the confusion on Aisha's face through the link.

"Yeah, I saw the outlets. But you have fusion reactors and all that other stuff. What's the big deal with getting electrical systems installed?" She asked. Like before, other members of the team were already in the know or learning the details for themselves.

"The big deal is that we are now a level two Kardashev civilization." I explained.

A week ago, I doubt Aisha would have understood that reference. As of now I could see the dawning mix of wonder and horror on her face. "You mean…?" She trailed off without phrasing her question.

"That's right." I said with a wide smile. "We have a Dyson Sphere."

POWER OVERWHELMING (Personal Reality) 400:
Not enough power? Okay, this Who's Got the Powa Upgrade means that your Personal Reality is now hooked up to the full power of a Sol-Class Star encased in a Dyson Sphere. Congratulations, you're now a Kardashev II civilization. If this isn't enough power, you need an intervention.

I do not want to be too pedantic (especially considering that the Jump itself made the Mistake?), but as far as I am aware being a Kardashev Civilization of any Degree means that you have access to the Entirety of the existing Resources of your Planet/Solarsystem/Galaxy/Galactic-Cluster/.../Universe et cetera.

Meaning having "only" the entire Energy output of one Star at your disposal does not make you a Kardashev 2 Civilization.
Either through the fact that a simple Star without other Planetoids does not make a Star System (even if Joe has functionally infinite Resources and thus could simply build Planets) or that a Dyson Sphere "simply" gathers Energy and thus does not allow the harvesting or other direct usage of the Stars Components like Hydrogen, Helium etc. and thus technically doesn't classify as having Access to the Entirety of the existing Resources of a Solarsystem.

Obviously this is not specified in Definitions because most if not all Civilizations that have the means to actually build a godamn Dyson Sphere very likely also have the means to harvest the Star for it's material Resources.

Maybe I misunderstood the meaning of a Kardashev Civilizations and actually having access to the majority of a Stars Energy Output does make you Type 2, but I really wanted to write this down because it kept bugging me in my head after rereading it.

Edit Insert: "I was indeed quite wrong. A Kardashev Civilizations is entirely based on Energy availability and it's ability to harvest it, not other resources."

Either way this was a really cool chapter and it looks like we're finally getting some more Personal Interaction between Members of the Celestial Forge and normal Mortals (Aisha does not count because of all the bullshit training and general Exposure through Forge Insanity she has been going through).

Btw. is Jaob's Ladders professional Composure going to break through the direct Exposure to Survey, seems like a funny upcoming scene considering how much Pride Uppercrust and his direct Subordinates seem to take in their Professionalism.
And in light of the fact that Uppercrusts Interlude informed of us that even if he was the type of Person to enjoy such things he wouldn't even be capable of partaking in the various Citys extra persuasive Hosts, so actually being capable of having a boner seems like a good test for Uppercrust on the effectiveness of Apeirons healing. Heh:).

I'm dearly hoping Uppercrust will have at least one "What the fuck?" moment in the upcoming Meeting, for such a composed and dignified man it would surely take Apeiron Grade levels of bullshit to get a real Reaction.

Does she though? Lisa's two Interludes only indicate that she knows Coil has a new thinker. There is no evidence she actually knows anything beyond that.
She does, she knew the moment Joe mentioned that he was aware about the whole bank heist being a distraction.

Granted, it's completely on Joe for never bothering to look up if anything else had happened that day and completely trusting in Lisa when he was fully aware that there's a conflict of interest.

He has access to "the full power of a Sol-Class Star encased in a Dyson Sphere". While that is mostly light at its source, which the Sphere converts to other forms of energy, the solar wind also gives him on the order of 300,000 tons per second of hot plasma.

(E) which has the corollary that if the energy transport medium is less efficient per weight than a constant stream of hot plasma moving at 0.1% c, he'll need far more than 300,000 tons of connector just to get the energy into his workshop. Kardashev 2 is a lot of energy. Also, cooling might be a bit of a problem.

Here's the Wikipedia link: Kardashev scale

Kardashev II is defined as being able to harvest the energy output(not the resources) of a single star, potentially through a Dyson Sphere or Matrioshka brain.

Your definition is of a Kardashev III:
A civilization in possession of energy at the scale of its own galaxy, with energy consumption at ≈4×1044 erg/sec. Lemarchand defined civilizations of this type as having access to power comparable to the luminosity of the entire Milky Way galaxy, about 4×1044 erg/sec (4×1037 watts).
And even then, it's entirely based on energy availability and ability to harvest it, not other resources. But thank you for feeling strong enough to put things down.

Okay, Blasto doesn't have it yet, Accord does.

Accord, who Stans Apeiron so hard that he's willing to overlook his Anakin-Skywalker-level hatred of sand in order to have an Apeiron-themed relaxation booth.

That probably just makes it more likely that Joe could get his hands on it…

Nah. The Original Kardashev scale is about measuring the technological advancement of civilization based on the amount of energy it can use. So it's about technology, not energy or resources. The ability to create energy-collecting megastructure (like Dyson sphere) is a thing that makes Type II civilization Type II.

She does, she knew the moment Joe mentioned that he was aware about the whole bank heist being a distraction.

Tattletale knows that Dinah was kidnapped. But she thinks it is for political blackmail and assumes that the kid is safe because harming a blackmail token is stupid. At the same time, the most Lisa knows about Coil's new thinker, is that it exist.

Yeah, Lisa still being silent about kidnapping, but at least she can claim ignorance about the worst part. Tho, it won't help her case much.

Wouldn't harvesting those resources from a star be bad? Because, well, they're it's components and even if it's only a small amount compared to what it has I'd rather a star I can get 5.5 billion years worth of energy from than a star I can get 5.4 billion years worth of energy from, especially if you don't even need to get those resources from the star

Also I looked it up and according to wiki:

The Kardashev scale is a method of measuring a civilization's level of technological advancement based on the amount of energy it is able to use. The measure was proposed by Soviet astronomer Nikolai Kardashev in 1964. The scale is hypothetical, and regards energy consumption on a cosmic scale.

Type II. A civilization capable of harnessing the energy radiated by its own star—for example, by means of the successful completion of a Dyson sphere or Matrioshka brain—with energy consumption at ≈4×1033 erg/sec.
