Or Shinji and Warhammer 40K.
Or Shinji and Warhammer 40K.
We do not mention that MOST HERETICAL TEXT HERE. Report yourself to your Commissar, heretic!
Eh, Shinji is closer to Khorne, Nurgle, or Undivided than Tzeentch.
Did someone mention heres-We do not mention that MOST HERETICAL TEXT HERE. Report yourself to your Commissar, heretic!
Yeah, but Asuka and Shinji are human (as far as we know), so their genetics should work normally.Possibly because those would most often be WAFF stories, and everyone wants to see the Ultra-WAFF of Shinji wrapped completely around his little girl's finger.
Oh, like Eva and DNA have ever been anywhere like how it really works.
I may be remembering wrong, but aren't the Japanese not too big on adoption? Are there suburbias packed with Cleaver families? Not any more. Are there a lot of good people who would take an orphan into their home? Probably. I'm not talking about finding a Walton family or the Camdens or Huxtables. I'm talking about placing Shinji with a person who would do more than ensure he was fed, and clothed.
For some reason, the vibe I get is it's shortly after she's given birth (she looks rather bedraggled) and she hasn't had a chance to hold him yet. Maybe she had to be knocked out or the delivery was particularly difficult. She's still weak, tho standing, and Shinji is worried about her and about her ability to hold the baby safely.I'm picking up a lot of fear in that picture. In their body language, their faces, they way Shinji asked if she's "really okay." The placement is a bit ambiguous but both of them either have sweat or tears on their faces. All that has me trying to rewind the story in the picture. What happened 30 seconds ago? The elipsis in Asuka's answer tell me that she is unsure. She is ASUKA FREAKING LANGLY! The Second Child. The warrior that Spartans(your choice which ones) and Klingons salute! And she's not sure about holding a baby? This isn't the scene in a happy home. Or at least it is a happy home, but this is a bad night.
*gulps nervously*
Going back over Chapter 9.15, Ritsuko knew enough that she realized that she would have to use one of Rei's old blood tests ("We'll… I'll use an old blood test of yours, and fix the results. I won't change your medication level, we'll just tell him I did.").How do you figure? As far as I understood, all she knows is that the medication didn't work the way she thought it did ("I always feel. I usually just didn't care")
So is Shinji the Everchosen or something? There is a case to be made for Nurgle-Rei, especially in conjunction with shipping. Rei is the "safe" option, the option that accepts Shinji as he is... but that means at the same the option that doesn't challenge Shinji to become better. Which sounds just like Papa Nurgle, no?
Damn skippy!
You're going to find out the hard way, aren't you?Btw, what's the maximum image number for a post? I can't recall.
I must be slipping if I didn't think of that one.If they're higher-dimensional fuckery or something, then six separate points in 3d can be completely connected in the higher-dimensional fuckery manner.
Gendo is mid-upper level member of a vast, powerful cult and a high ranked officer in an obscenely well funded international organization. Find a family in another country.I may be remembering wrong, but aren't the Japanese not too big on adoption?
True, but a tangled ball of neuroses leads to compelling stories and plots... and I think I may be going about this backwards.Besides, a Shiji raised in a healthy home environment--or any home environment--wouldn't be the tangled ball of neuroses that makes us tear our hairs out.
if that was the case, Asuka wouldn't be standing. Just trust me on that. No, it being Asuka's not an excuse. For some reason, the vibe I get is it's shortly after she's given birth (she looks rather bedraggled) and she hasn't had a chance to hold him yet.
Pretty much. Adoption in Japan is a mechanism for rich families lacking an heir to obtain an heir (and tends to be of adults).I may be remembering wrong, but aren't the Japanese not too big on adoption?
Plus, junior looks too big and the hair looks too full. I say he is about 3 months to 1 year old.if that was the case, Asuka wouldn't be standing. Just trust me on that. No, it being Asuka's not an excuse.
I did consider Nurgle for Rei, especially because of how the GNR starts decaying at the end of EOE. But eventually settled on Tzeentch because that plotting pose. There is a case to be made for Nurgle-Rei, especially in conjunction with shipping. Rei is the "safe" option, the option that accepts Shinji as he is... but that means at the same the option that doesn't challenge Shinji to become better. Which sounds just like Papa Nurgle, no?
Hashut is a retired Chaos God from Warhammer Fantasy; patron of the also-retired Chaos Dwarves. Hashut imbibes their artillery and machines with daemonic souls (e.g. the Hellcannon), amongst other things. i.e. Hashut is pretty much the God of Evangelions and those who would build them. Also associated with fire, tyranny, hatred, greed etc.Yeah okay, Misato and Kaji are both spot on of course. But just who is Hashut? Daemonic Prince of Mad Science or what?
I was literally in the middle of eating at that point. Patience.
Gendo. Anything but Tzeentch.I thought of more:
Gendo:
Nurgle.
Kaworu:
Slaanesh.
Akagi:
Hashut. From Warhammer FB - Who here remembers him?
Because there are already Daemonships and all sorts of blasphemous war machines, including Daemontanks. As far as I know, Hashut was never in WH40K - which kind of surprised me, since who doesn't want daemonic tanks and spaceships?
Then why not just make him the Chaos God whose domain is those?Because there are already Daemonships and all sorts of blasphemous war machines, including Daemontanks.
He's probably a minor Chaos god/entity of technology, but given the technological stagnation of most of the galaxy's species with souls that are worth a damn, has little power. Also, the four main Gods can just put their own daemons in machines anyways. Then why not just make him the Chaos God whose domain is those?
In WHFB, he was a major Chaos God along with the others, because none of them could make daemonic machines and didn't cover some of his attributes. He didn't turn up much outside of the Chaos Dwarfs because he favoured them for some reason. He's probably a minor Chaos god/entity of technology, but given the technological stagnation of most of the galaxy's species with souls that are worth a damn, has little power. Also, the four main Gods can just put their own daemons in machines anyways.
After I thought about it, "dehumanize" isn't the word I was looking for in the first example. "Dehumanize" works in the stories where the author is emphasizing her otherness. But "dominate" works better in the first example. Taking away her control of her body and maiming her in a profound and symbolic way so as to further his own ends, all without her informed consent.Hmmm. Using it as a way to dehumanise Rei is an angle I hadn't previously considered; maybe it has merit beyond a vaguely irritating fandom cliche to subvert, like all those fanfics that assume Gendo must be going down to the cages to monologue at Unit-01.
